Arizona UFO Sightings in 2001

I was running a night shift in the middle of the desert, using a track hoe to feed an incinerator. I am a 4 year vetran of the army and my co-worker was a retired special forces major. I saw the craft just below the cloud deck which was at 9500 ft.

A winter storm was moving in and snow was forecast. This craft was hovering over a mountain range,in line-site of my position.I used the interstate to gauge it's size,and estimated it at over a mile and a half in lenght.

It had sequential running lights that illuminated the clouds that were just above the immense craft.I have seen every known military plane,blimp,tanker,helicopter and stealth included.My esteemed colligue got a deathly white sheen to his face and would not come out of his personal jeep and quit 2 weeks later,no explanation.

It re-appeared 2 more times in different location's but never too far from this gold mine it was hovering over.I,myself have seen more than i am writing about today,i just find it hard to belive that no one saw this gigantic craft making no bones about hiding,or playing hide and seek.Incidently,the next night,we were visited by 2 attack cobras who sat and watched us for god knows how long,until i cranked up the track hoe to feed the incinerator,and had to flick on the floods.

As soon as i was aware of their presence,they circled our site several times,scanning us with a green laser light and i flicked my day-lighters in approval and the left at a high rate of speed going directly towards that gold mine.I have never seen attack helicopters fly in such miserable weather.My co-partner didn't want any mention of this to anyone,like it shook his very religious foundation,he was scared,i know scared and he was babbling like a child.

ME,i turned the track hoe to face it and kept flicking my day-lighters in the hope they would come and see who was behind those lights.The back ground was a unique canvas,snow cloud white and a deck down to 9500 fett and the immense reflection from the circulating lights gave a crystal clear image of size,color and pure mavolence.I felt at ease,no panic.

you see,i felt as these were friends,like we had met before.As i said earlier,i have many a tale to tell,maybe we can converse on another time,another report,maybe even meet some day.I am a regular guy,i have an associates degree in structural engineering and an advanced degree in heavy equipment operation.

I saw a triangle craft that had many lights then flew away a high speed. It was a very large craft triangle in shape I would say about 50 yards long. It had three really bright lights at each corner and a number of other light inside but not as bright.

These lights were a piecing yellow in color. I knew it was not a airplane because it was flying very low in the sky I knew this because it was a clear night sky. The thing just stood in the same place for a bit then flew away at a high speed.

Star-like light visible with the sun risen This may be pretty weak, but as the sun started rising this morning I saw what looked like a bright star, about 2 degrees below the moon. What was unusual, was that the sun was rising, and there were no other stars out. I was driving to work a distance of 20 miles, and throughout that drive the star was still visible.

Even now, with the sun entirely risen and sun beating down on the ground, the dot, though very faint is still visible. The position of the dot stayed constant relative to the moon which leads me to believe it was very far away. It is possibly a satelite in synchronous orbit or a planet?.

but I've never noticed such a thing before, and certainly not with the sky so bright. It did not make any movement while I was watching it. ((NUFORC Note: We suspect the witness may have been looking at a celestial body.

A flying object appeared to be on fire, South of the West Phoenix Valley. On December 2, 2001, at approximately 01:10 hours; from the city of Peoria looking due South, I noticed what appeared to be a very bright red star about 70 degrees high from the horizon. In amazement over its intensity for being about the size of the end of a pencil eraser, I told my spouse that "even if it was Mars it sure was bright.

" I then went into the house to get my binoculars. Within the four to five minutes that lapsed while I was in the house the red star appeared to have dropped and/or moved down about 15 degrees and was slightly larger than previously noticed. The object dropped down to about 35 degrees above the horizon before it changed directions towards the West, now moving horizontally! After moving horizontally for approximately four to five minutes, the object suddenly expanded at least three times its initial size into a fire pulsing motion (for about two minutes), before the glow of the object succeeded back to its initial size.

After another three to four minutes, pieces or parts appeared to be falling from or breaking off the flying object while it continued moving horizontally. Eight of the nine glowing objects that fell straight down, faded or burned out with 20 seconds, while the largest falling glow did not fade in intensity and appeared to fall intact somewhere Northwest of Gila Bend. The flying object continued West for approximately six minutes before it disappeared.

The lights or fire that were dropping from the bottom were what made it look like something we have never seen. My husband was sitting on our back patio having a cigarette when he looked up in the sky facing North West. He yelled at me to come out back to see what I thought it was that he was looking at.

It was rather high up so at the height it was it looked like the shape of a plane, but every 2 or 3 seconds a ball of light (or fire) would drop out of the bottom of it and there was like a circle of smoke or haze around the whole object. My husband at first thought it might have been a hot air balloon but he thought it was rather high to be that and especially at that time of night. It moved at a rate of speed similar to an airplane, continuing dropping this light or fire ball.

Gradually it moved to the South West and we lost sight of it. The whole incident that we witnessed lasted approximately 10 minutes.

Lights that seemed to flutter and flap like the wings of birds 4 lights in a diamond shape were heading SSW. Then the formation shifted and we saw 5 lights. As it came closer it was not like a plane or helicopter, the light was fluttering, more like the flapping of bird wings.

The 5 lights drifted east and then up, almost disappearing into the sky.

Saw silent, triangular craft at early twilight that was almost blended with the sky background. I stepped out behind our house after dinner to get something out of our storage shed. pon leaving the shed, I glanced up at the sky as I locked the shed door.

The sky was clear. It was early twilight. Almost directly overhead was a triangular shaped craft.

completely quiet. The triangle would be roughly a 70 - 70 - 40 degree triangle with the apex of the 40 degree angle apparently the front of the craft. The apex of the nose was blunt as if the front few feet were removed.

It left a distinct triangle with a square front end. Along each edge (left and right) was a defined area that was slightly lighter extening front to back and possibly 8 to 10 feet wide. In essence, it looked like two stripes, one along each edge of the triangle (but not the back edge).

Set in each of the stripes and spaced equidistant from each other and within the area of the stripe were circles that looked like dull dome lamps. The circles were perhaps 6 to 8 feet in diameter. I believe there were 5 along each edge.

I don't recall if there were these circles along the rear edge or not. In the area between the two edge stripes and starting perhaps half-way back from the leading edge of the craft was an area that appeared to be somewhat darker than the rest of the craft. It was uniform in color but only a part of a shade darker.

The curious thing here is that while I've described a craft with stripes and lights, it was very pale against the twilight sky. I don't believe that I would have seen it if I hadn't just by luck looed straight at where it was. The color was almost the color of th sky with just a little difference.

The overall shape, the stripe area, the large circular lights were definite shapes but the color was so weak as to be almost blended with the ambient image of the sky. There was no sound. I waited and listened closely for several seconds to see if I could perceive sound.

There was none. I live next to a little league ball field. The field lighting was on.

I almost believe that reflected light ! from the field was what enabled me to see this thing. From a size standpoint, there is no way to know. If the visual cues from other aircraft I know are valid, and if the altitude was from 1500 to maybe 2000 feet, then the craft was about 120 feet long and 50 or 60 feet wide at the back.

If that was valid, then I would estimate the speed at around 100 to 150 knots. If the size cues were wrong, then the actual size could be anything. We live onthe edge of an extended traffic pattern for Scottsdale Airport.

It was curious that the craft had no beacon or anticollision lights. That makes me believe that it should have been much higher than I think because of the danger of collision in an airport traffic pattern. I don't recall the altitude requirements to cross over the airport control space but I think it's around 7500 feet.

If the craft was at that altitude it would have been enormous andwould have been moving at perhaps 300 or 400 knots. I'm a former military pilot. I know aircraft.

My distance vision is excellent. I've never seen anything like this before. I can say what it wasn't.

It was no known aircraft in the inventory of any country I'm aware of. It was not a hang glider, an ultra-light, baloon, F11, B2, Beechcraft Starship, Dick Rutan creaation, or anything else I can think of. It was not shaped like a blimp and besides, you can hear them easily.

I watched the craft for approximately 10 seconds until it disappeared behind a tree that blocked my vision. It held a steady course, altitude, and speed - traveling from southeast to northwest. I have filed a report with MUFON some time ago.

Rising balloon transformed into cigar craft with red light on bottom At 11:33 p.m. on November 11, 2001 I as putting my backpack in my car, that was running in the driveway.

After closing the back door to the car I looked up to reach to open the front driver door. That was when I noticed a dull grey colored small "birthday party" balloon with string below. It was rising at a normal helium balloon speed and appartently coming from the neighbors, 3 houses down, backyard.

After noticing the lights all off at their home and no car in the driveway I was suspicious of how it had come from that backyard that was dark and silent. Then, without my perceptive ability to actually see the transition, it was now instantly a dull grey cigar shaped craft about 50 feet up above the houses. It was not a balloon anymore yet retained the same color and underneath the hull of this silent and now motionless craft was a rectangular shaped protrusion of sorts that was obviously a part of the craft's geometry.

In the right corner of this short protruding box-like bottom was a brilliant, almost like DIGITAL/LED square light. The light blinked on and off with no apparent pattern and the object was the size of 3 or 4 mini-vans worth of mass in the sky from the distance I saw it. It slowly moved horizontally over to be closer to me standing there and remained still nearly over head for a near full minute.

Then it began accelerating in a northwesterly direction at a calm speed remaining at its altitude consistently eversince ceasing to rise upward during its time as a "balloon of helium". In shock I documented the event within minutes and then before leaving after only a few minutes past the event an appartent police helicopter, "ghetto bird" swept low over that spot of the neighborhood doing a typical orbit around the house I was at with its spotlight on, but not pointing down at me or anything and after one full circle it flew around me there, in a diameter of about 300 yards and height near the same as the craft, the helicopter then sped off in the exact direction that what I had seen left from there traveling in.

2 Objects seen next to the Moon at approx. 8:30am. Within 12 hrs of my previous sighting, I witnessed 2 objects next to the moon this morning.

At first I thought the one object was Mars and the other was another planet, however, both objects started heading North. I could see them with the naked eye, however, were too far in the sky to see exactly what they looked like (look like 2 dots.) They weren't airline aircraft (too high) and possibly aircraft from the local Air Force? These 2 object were visible for approx.

4 to 6 min. I checked them out through binoculars and thought I saw a red dot, could have been the sun's reflection. I went out to the front, next to the driveway (at my parents home) and the 2 objects were gone.

If these were any type of aircraft and being that high, I would assume I would have been able to see the "Cloud Formation" from the engines of such an aircraft. These 2 objects moved slow without have the "Cloud Formation" then disappeared. This is my 2 sighting of such aircraft/UFO in 2 days, within 12 hrs apart.

UFO Sighting - Glendale, AZ Hello, I'm from Glendale, AZ. Its about 9:43pm right now and I just witnessed the best thing ever. At approximately 9:25pm, this evening, I saw, what appeared to me as a UFO.

I have never seen one before only read about them on different sites. However, the object I saw was lower than most aircraft in the area and was shooting across the sky at a very rapid rate, much faster than the aircraft here. The object was round, the bottom looked like a reddish gold color, no lights and no sound.

I ran downstairs, from my apartment, went to the parking lot, not 3 to 4 seconds later and the object was gone. I've had many mixed feelings until now. Now I have become a believer.

I thought you would like to know my story, I'm very excited about the entire event and wanted to share this extraordinary night. Thank you for your time. GLendale, AZ.

thursday oct 25 10:20 pm myself and and 1 other individual wittnessed a triangular shaped craft flying aprox 1000 feet coming from north to south at a high rate of speed. it had no lights comming from it infact it seemed that the ambiant light from the city was all that made it visable. it quickly flew in and out of view, flying straight and made no sound.

it had 5 or 7 white orbs on the uder side in a arrow head shape consistant w/ its direction of flight.1/2 of each of the orbs protruded from the crafts dark, hardly visible fuselage. and appeared to be translusint.

the craft appeard to be 12 to 20' wide and 15 to 23' long. altitude and size was hard to determin as it was only in view 3 or 4 sec. and due the lack objects in its flights path to obtain a good prospective.

On Oct.19 2001, Phoenix Az. I was sitting out side of the shop I work at and was having a cig.

It was about 8:45pm, I was waiting to close the shop at 9:00pm. Watching the sky which was hazy but clear enough to see stars. There was a light layer of clouds coming from the west out of California.

I suddenly caught a glimps of somthing flying over my head. I looked up to see a group of three reddish/orange, some what bright yet fuzzy looking lights flying at what seemed to be couple of hundred feet above my head but completely silent. It travel at a very fast speed from east to west in the direction of Luke Air Force Base.

It travel from above my head all the way across the sky to disappear over single story house across the 30 foot wide alley behind my shop. This took a total of about 6 to 8 seconds, just long enough for me to jump out of the chair i was leaning back in and shouted what the hell is that. My receptionist looked out the door and said "what, what?!" Just as it was passing over the top of the roof of the house.

Then another person I work with ran out the back door and was asking what I saw. I was describing it to her and all of a sudden a boomerang shaped cloud traveling the same direction east to west, was moving across the sky at an extremely fast speed too. The other clouds that were in the sky never changed,they were in the same place as they were when the event started.

Cluster UFO over Phoenix AZ There was a mass sighting in Phoenix. I was at work on Friday 10-12-01 at 6:30 pm I video taped 6 black UFOS moving slow over down town Phoenix AZ. I video taped the cluster of UFOS for about 2 min.

Triangle shaped craft spotted flying west to east over mid town Phoenix on 10/10/01 at 22:00 hours 4 light dim making no sounellow On october 10 at 22:00 hours I was sitting in my court yard in mid town Phoenix AZ. I was looking to the west up at the stars. An object moving from the southwest to the northeast cought my attention.

It was a clear night. As the craft got closer I could see for light one in front, one in the center, two in the back the light were a dim orangie yellow. The craft made no sound, triangle shape.

I could make out the shape against the lighter night sky the shape was dark. There was a visal distortion around the craft.

a missle/warhead type object over the tempe sky three friends of mine and i were sitting in the back yard of a friend's house when we saw what at first appeared to be a shooting star. it became clear very quick that this was not a shooting star. we quickly moved to a place where we could get a better view.

the shape of the object almost seemed missle like, it was gliding in a straight line and appeared to be slowly falling down. it was similar to a trail of lights. two objects exactly like it split off of it and started to also fall.

i seem to recall a whizzing sound and so does one other person i was with, however, at least one of the other people who saw it that was standing next to me said they didn't hear anything. anyway, it dissapeared behind a tree so we ran to the front yard to see if we could see it hit something, but it then disappeared into the horizon. very soon after we saw an out of the ordinary amount of non comercial aircraft.

in the wake of the events on the 11th we all were pretty sure this was it and we were all about ready to die. heh. i'm glad everyone seems to be okay.

we called our local CBS affliate and they said that other people had reported seeing the same thing but there still hasn't been a report.

0105 hours, streaming flash of golden objects. I had just finished swimming in my pool. I was toweling off when a fast moving 'golden flash' caught my eye.

I looked up and saw two extremely fast moving objects flying through the sky coming towards my North Phoenix home (trajectory was southwest headed northeast). However, the objects flew on a heading to the northwest. As the objects flew past my home, I saw a third light (object?), also golden.

The objects resembled chaffe or flares, but they were not falling. They were moving horizontally and at an extremely fast clip. They appeared to be flying in a very tight bunch.

I expected the objects to fall towards the earth, but they elevated at that time. I then went inside to see if any explosions had been reported in the area. I checked the net & televised news.

Nothing at this time. Immediate thoughts: Shooting stars (much too close to the ground), asteroids/space debris.errant missles from an F-16 (Luke Air Force Base is located in the direction that the objects came from, approx.

15 miles from my home). I must point out that I've seen F-16's at night and during the day. A friend used to work on them at Luke.

The objects were in no way near the size of an F-16. At no time did I see traditional form to the matter that passed by. No wings, smoke or trailing airstreams.

However, the objects were moving so fast that the gold color trailed. One other peculiarity, there was no sound at all. I live in a sleepy residential area and at 1:05 AM, I should have heard something from objects so close to the ground.

Believe me, I am 42 and have never seen anything like this. I have never seen a UFO, nor do I feel that I saw one (classical sense) tonight. What I did see was something extraordinary.
