slow moving Fireball in the sky I was driving down Lorna Rd when I saw what looked like an orange commet falling from the sky. It was orange. It had a rather long (what looked like) fire flame following it.

To be honest, if I heard on the news that what I saw was an airplane that blew up in the sky and was on fire as it descended, I would believe it. Granted it had to be a rather LARGE fire as I could see the item on fire and it was WAY up in the sky. If it was space garbage, It was HUGE space garbage as the tail was long, almost like a shooting star that went real slow.

It fell downward. I saw all of this with a nake eye. It traveled very slow.

It was not a plane "smoke" trail. I called my employees at the Hoover office. THey saw it as well and could not guess what it was as none of us had seen anything like this before.

I watched it for about 10 - 15 min before it disappeared out of my viewing area ((NUFORC Note: Possible contrail, we suspect. PD)).

Montgomery AL Rectangle Object with no sound flew West to East 10 Seconds It was like an airplane wing; only longer and wider. Silver in appearance with no lights. Traveling West to East and absolutely no sound.

Estimated altitude 500 to 800 feet above ground. It traveled like a glider. It's velosity increased as it flew across the sky.

Stars were out with no clouds in sight.

A ILLUMINATING LIGHT SHOW, WITH BLUE SPHERES, AND ONE BRIGHT LARGE TRIANLED LT. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD SON, AND SAW WHAT SEEMED TO BE A TRIANLED SHAPED LIGHT, CLOSE. I THOUGHT TO MYSELF I AM NOT GOING TO SAY ANYTHING,WHEN I PULLED INTO THE DRIVE, I WAS MET BY MY HUSBAND AND BROTHER.

THEY WERE EXTATIC "DID YOU SEE THE UFO?!!" I GOT OUT AND LOOKED, IT WAS STILL THERE! I GOT SPOOKED A LITTLE. WE ARE ON THE COOSA RIVER, DARK AND A VERY CLEAR VIEW OF THE SKY. FOUR ADULTS, TWO CHILDERN SAT AND WATCHED A SPECTIULAR SHOW! NOT ONLY WAS THERE THE LARGE BRIGHT TRIANGLED SHAPED LIGHT, THERE WERE WHITE SPHERE SHAPED BALLS WITH A BLUE HUGE, THAT WERE JETTING ALL AROUND.

AT ONE TIME WE COUNTED FOUR. WE SAW ONE OF THE SPHERE'S LOOKED AS IF IT WENT THROUGH THE BRIGHT TRIANGLE. THE SHERE'S WOULD MOVE FROM SIDE TO SIDE, UP AND DOWN, BE RACING AND COME TO A DEAD STOP.

AS WE WATCHED WE SAW AIR CRAFT COMING AROUND, I'M NOT SURE IF THEY WERE INVESTIGATING THE LIGHTS IN THE SKY OR JUST NORMAL COMMERICAL. I WATCHED ONE OF OUR AIR CRAFTS COMING CLOSE TO THE BLUE SPHPERE, AND THE SHPERE LOOKED AS IF IT WAS TONTING OUR AIR CRAFT. AT ONE POINT I STARTED WORRING, THINKING WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 30 SECOUND SIGHTING? ANYWAY THIS WENT ON FOR AN HOUR, THEN THE TRIANGLE LIGHT WENT OFF NORTHWEST OVER THE MOUNTINGS, BUT THE SHERES STAYED AT LEAST THIRTY MINUTES AFTER.

OUR FACES WERE GLUED TO THE WINDOW THE WHOLE TIME. AT ONE TIME I FELT SCARED, WAS THIS THE WAR OF THE WORLDS? (I'VE YET TO READ THE BOOK OR WATCH THE MOVIE) BUT IT WAS A SIRREAL FEELING. I KEPT MY CHILDREN CLOSE AND THE WINDOWS LOCKED.

Large triangle craft near commerical aircraft On 11-29-05 at 7:44am I took a picture of a commercial airliner flying over the park. Did'nt notice the object in the frame until I downloaded it to computer. It is black and triangle with no contrail as the airliner has.

We believe that the report deserves special attention. PD)) Flurry of small bright flashing lights going east to west in random formation as if they were bees that were disturbed. My wife had asked me to go with her on our back porch because she wanted to smoke and wanted someone to talk with.

That was when my wife noticed strange lights in the night sky and brought it to my attention. There were dozens, perhaps hundreds of lights that were blinking white light in different intensities. They were traveling from over Keel mountain east to west direction heading towards Huntsville.

There was no organization to these lights. My wife got her telephone and called her friend to tell her what we were witnessing. While she was talking on the phone I noticed a group of these white lights formed a large circle behind our house out in the field and stopped for several minutes and began to flash wildly.

They didn't flash all at once but randomly wild with intensity. They must've been two hundred feet away and about one hundred feet off the ground. They were not equally spaced but they did form a perfect circle.

After a few minutes the lights from the circle that they created took off like a stream of bees flying. They took off west towards Huntsville too. I couldn't make out any shapes and didn't hear any sound.

There were more of these lights coming over Keel mountain when my wife pointed to a faint object overhead. It looked like a faint burnt orangish disk that was stationary in the sky. I went into the house and got my telescope out to see what it was.

The object was still there. My wife is far sight and kept telling me that there was a second object overhead too but I couldn't see it. What I could see with my telescope just made me more confused of what I was looking at.

It looked like a faint burnt orangish disk with knobs on the bottom like you see with some reflectors. The flurry of white lights finally ceased but the disk overhead was still there but faintly. Afterwards my wife and I went inside because we were getting too cold.

We were speachless as to what we witnessed. ((NUFORC Note: We have no idea what the multiple lights may have been, but we have written the witness, asking what direction the clouds were moving at the time of the sighting of those lights. We suspect that the orange-colored object may have been Mars, which currently is quite prominent in the eastern sky at the time indicated.

We are not comfortable about doing this. The sky was crystal clear that night. The wind was a gentle ENE that evening.

High that day was 50 and the low for that night was predicted to be 25. I agree that the burnt orange was Mars. If my wife didn't see this for herself, then I wouldn't be writing you now.

Silent Moving Bright Light makes "impossible" 90 degree turn to the west At 05:11 CST this morning retired Army Officer, veteran, and career military aviator was standing in the back yard of his home in Southeast Alabama (performing usual sky-watch activities), when he witnessed an anomalous object perform an impossible maneuver against the bright star field over his head. Appearing (blinking on) where he happened to be looking at about 40 degrees elevation into the western sky, a "Mars bright" object (Mars was also seen) silently appeared at about 290 deg and traveled at a rate of approximately three degrees a second north to south for 10 degrees, where it made a hard (snap!) "protoplasm-smearing" 90 degree to due west. traveling another degree or so before blinking out.

Sighting was complete in under 10 seconds. Witness is not misleading, misled or mentally ill. Witness saw more than mere birds, boosters, bolides, or balloons.

He was not seeing fairies, suffering vapors. or having an "episode.".

Huge ball of light seen on the ground in Talladega National Forest/Sweetwater Lake This occured during a weekend hiking trip with my brother and a friend from college. We had to night hike for a few hours on Friday. The exact location of the sighting was across from a dirt boat ramp on Sweetwater Lake, which our hiking trail passed by.

As we broke into the field that runs along the lake and watershed, the fog was very thick. This is when we first noticed flashing that we assumed to be heat lighting or something similar. By the time we reached the boat ramp, we were away from the field and completely out of the fog.

The flashes were coming from 3 points. Two points were far away enough that the source could not be seen. The 3rd flashing was across the lake and only a short distance inland (I guessed around 100 yards at the most).

The light was flashing at various intensity, length, and time. Ranging from a very small fraction of a second to nearly a second. The intensity also ranged from: just enough of a flash to see the low level clouds light up with a white ambient light, to a bizarre ball of light that peaked over the tree line by many feet.

When the ball of light was large enough, it resembled plasma. The colors were red, yellow, white, purple, etc. The ball also appeared to move around, by maybe 30 yards to the left or right.

Other than describing it as plasma, my friend suggested the side of a huge water tower was reflecting the flashes at us. There is no structure at all in the area. The flashes were coming from the center of the Talladega National Forest, indeed, there is no plumbing.

I should also note that the "ball of light" as I've called it, was only 300 yards away at most, and completely silent. We watched the 3 flashes for about 30 minutes until they became quite infrequent. It was such a strange thing to see and we still have no good idea as to what it was.

I hike there frequently and may inspect the area sometime. My best guess to date is that we saw military testing of some kind. Heflin, the nearest city, as I now know, has many reports of strange sightings and some other odd things.

The Fort McClellan Military Reservation was to our West as we watched the light to our East. The Comanche helicopter was supposedly tested in that area. Also, that whole area of Alabama is a huge military arsenal.

The military has installed solar powered sirens throughout the forest recently and some old timers explained that there is a history of weapons buried in the forest during the Cold War era who's keepers died with the knowledge of their location. Sky was clear with stars The object is very bright and appears to the casual observer to be a star or airplane light. It moves very slowly across the sky. When viewed through the camera lens it appears to be rotating at a high rate and very brilliant.

It also appears to be extremely hot-radiating an extreme outer light. There was a blue flame-like propulsion from the bottom. At times it appeared to change shape.

Up close flying low tonight and 2 others within a month! It came from east and was headed towards Madison, going directly over Huntsville, Alabama. It had white lights all around the side facing me and made no noise at all. It was very low in the sky.

Not much higher than the large tree tops it seemed. It was dark and I was outside walking my dog in the front yard, when it went from one end of the area across to the other heading towards Madison. Which a friend of mine spotted one out that way a few days ago while driving in that area of which he also lives.

This is the 3rd one I have seen in a months time. The other 2 which were round, I saw at different times, first in Tunica, Mississippi and then here in Huntsville, Al. I saw both of them at more of a distance and they were much higher up and these would zig zag briefly, reappear, repeat that performance and then disappear all together in the day light.

The 2nd one was over the Arsenal area here in Huntsville which I saw from my back yard! I believe some of these ufo's are responsible for the illnesses that are going around this area at the time, this past month! The first was like a flu but with severe depression like nothing I have felt or seen in others before. 2 weeks later there is one like a flu or bronchitis hitting so many people. I was shown a picture in a stone about 3 years ago that there will be a massive UFO hovering over the Arsenal area in Huntsville with a smaller round one coming out of it.

It seems there are good ones and then there are others, maybe a war between them will occur? "War of the Worlds".

Blue Star object seen hovering above auburn then dissapears. We were driving down the road as I looked out into the sky and saw a huge shining blue object. When we arrived and got out of the car and noticed that the clouds were moving behind it and that it appeared to be moving slightly (hovering)- yet it still looked like a huge star.

After standing there for and hour we went inside. I came back outside about 10 minutes later and the "star" or "ufo" was gone. I saw some kind of dark plane with only white light fly by very low and fast to where the ufo was.

It cirled the location for about a minute. Then all the planes lights went off and within seconds I saw the plane again at the altitude of a commercial plane flying east towards Georgia.

Object with bright red light hovered above my car siletly, and followed me for about five minutes then disappeared. The sighting occurred on a late October night, I had just left my girl friends house and I was on my way back to my house which was about an hour away. Basically the whole drive is on back roads, with not too many houses around just a lot of wooded country.

About fifteen minutes into my drive I started spotting a red light that looked far away from me. I figured the red light was a plane or a tower of some sort, but I kept seeing it for the next ten minutes. This red light was not blinking or flashing just a constant beam of red light.

Then all of the sudden it disappeared from the spot I was seeing it from. After about a minute or two the light appeared right above my car and it was following me. The light was much brighter now it was hard to focus on the road.

I was trying to drive and look up at the same time. The object was maybe 10 feet above my car and I was traveling at approximately 40 miles per hour. It was hovering above me following me for about five minutes.

The object made no noise. I regret that I did not stop and get out to get a better look of the UFO. I was scared stiff not knowing what it was.

All I could think about was trying to make it home. I called my parents and my friends and told them, right after it happen. I was breathing so hard that they could not understand me.

A bright flash that left a spot of light in my eye Our power was out due to hurricane Katrina. My wife and I were sitting in our driveway and I walked around the side of the house to check to see if anyone in the neighborhood had generator power. All of a sudden a bright flash , such as a flashbuld, caught my eye .

The flash was in the South Eastern sky at about40 degrees in the sky. The night was cloudless and the stars were so visible everywhere. The light put a flash in my eye , such as a welders flash, and it still is there.

When I walked back around to my wife, the first thing she said was, did you see that flash. She was facing North at the time and only saw the sky light up for a split second. It did not affect her, since she seen only the flash from behind her.

It lasted a split second and this is Friday and I still have the spot in my eye.

round light that had a unsual flight pattern, flew around 40' off the ground only 1-2 miles from us. we watched it for 30 mins. me and my wife were riding atv's on friday night and stopped for a break,we were sitting on top of the "slate dumps" near a coal mines.

it was a clear night and we witnessed a round light that looked to be a vehicle about 1 mile from us coming down a hill thru the woods. I thought it might have been a another atv riding thru the woods and paid it no attention. We were observing the view of the land and then this lighted object caught our attention,it made very swift but fluent movement across the valley, it traveled atleast a mile then stopped suddenly and came back to where it was, it then went up and back down but stayed below the tree line.

it was approximatley 40' off the ground, it then went from right to left,then left to right with a lot of speed, it made no sound nor did it have a beam of light, it came very close to us becuae it seemed to get alot bigger and had a greenish orange glow, the whole light flashed like it pulsated,it did this twice, then continued flying around as if it was looking for something. we went to the bottom of the hill to get a witness, there were a few kids partying around a bon fire, we interrupted this party to and begged them to come to the top of the hill and witness this with us. they were not interested in what we were expirencing and did not witness this.

i have never in my life seen a object fly in this pattern, there is no way a human being could handle the g-force of this object's flight pattern.We watched this light for 30 minutes. i no longer go riding at night without a video camera, i know i dont have proof, but me and my wife both witnessed something that has changed our way of thinking.

i will continue to search for whatever we saw.

Silver, triangular craft seen. Around 100 ft. long and 50-75 ft.

wide. My brother, grandmother, and I were going up the mountain in Fort Payne and we saw a triangular craft. It was close to one hundred feet long and maybe fifty to seventy-five feet wide and it was silver.

We drove along watching it and lost track of it about fifteen minutes later. We got up around Fyffe and we saw a large fire. My grandmother got worried and called 911 to report/ask if there were any aircraft crashes.

Circular object with flashing lights, whirring sounds, and flashes of multicolored lights We were driving and noticed a circular object with flashing lights just below the moon. It was about the size of the moon which was almost full. We pulled over at a church parking lot and it was gone.

However, we noticed several flashes of multicolor light and a whirring sound. As we looked in the sky we noticed an unusual amount of airplane activity in all points of sight. The planes were much smaller than the object we had seen only moments before.

Mystery Light over Northern Alabama At approximately 22:10 on 8/10/05 my girlfriend saw something with flashing lights through the living room window. She asked me to come downstairs to look, and asked me what it was. She said it had been in the same place for about 10 min.

I told her it was probably an airplane. I went outside where I observed a distant point of light that seemed to be flashing like an airplanes operating lights, but only white lights with one red flash. I still thought it might be an airplane, but I myself sat on the back deck of our house, for about 35 min.

the object did not move, however, the patterns of flashing did change. The object seemed to dissapear after about an hour. There is no way this was an airplane or helicopter, it was very high in the sky, and sat stationary for almost an hour.

Intensely illuminated, sphereoid object moving far too quickly at a 70-75 degree angle into the sky. The object was observed in the night sky at the foot of Brindlee Mtn. roughly above southbound Hwy 231.

At first site, the object was located above the trees about half a mile east of the road (estimated perhaps 300 ft. above ground level on the slope of the mountain). The object appeared to be roughly round, very slightly elongated, and from my vantage point seemed to be composed of bright blue-white light.

The intensity and color of the light was inconsistant with all fireworks, street lamps, yard lights, and other such sources of illumination that I am aware of. Within the 2-3 seconds I had a good view of the craft, I observed it to hover above the tree line for an estimated 1/10th of a second and then rapidly moved upwards and westwards, crossing the sky in front of my vehical in approximately 1 second. From my vantage point, it is my opinion that the object moved in three dimensional space in the same way that an aircraft takes off a runway, only much more rapidly and at a much sharper angle (I estimate the angle would have been roughly 70-75 degrees and the trajectory did not change as it moved).

As the object moved, it also changed color. The blue-white quality of the light changed to a greenish color and then to a reddish orange color as it gained altitude, and decreased slightly in size proportionally to it's altitude. The object seemed to vanish completely at the end of it's approx.

1 second trajectory, and the final location of the object I estimate to be at a substantial altitude (at least 5,000 ft, though that is a very conservative estimate) and probably at least 1 mile west of southbound Hwy 231 (also a conservative estimate). A slightly audible sound followed about one second behind the object, and I can only describe it as a Doppler Effect-type sound, though very faint and high pitched (I would compare it to the scream of a fighter-jet engine, only much higher pitched with a very unique undertone). It is my opinion that this object could not possibly be an airplane or other man-made craft, as it began too close to the ground and progressed at an extreme angle and speed that I have never seen or heard of in a human aircraft.

The only object I know of that could travel from close to the ground to that alititude at anything nearly approaching that speed would be a rocket of some sort, and the intensity of illumination and the speed of the object is not consistant with any amature rocket. So far as I know, there are no housing or human habitation sites in the area that the object was hovering over. The local area is nearly completely covered in hardwood forest.

My geological survey map of the area shows no unusual geological phenomenon. There were no powerlines or cell phone/radio towers located in the area where the object originated. The atmospheric conditions were humid, but clear.

There is no chance that the object was a star or planet, as it appeared closer than the horizon and was too close to the ground, and from my moving vehical, the object changed perspective in the way that a three dimensional object would be expected to. The object could not have been a meteor because it ascended into the sky, while a meteor would have descended. As for my background, I am a native to this area and I am an archaeologist, currently investigating an excavation site on the Flint River flood plain.

When I saw the object I was returning home from visiting friends in Huntsville. I had not imbibed any alcohol, nicotine, narcotic, or any other mind affecting substance. I was not affected by fatigue and I have no history of mental illness, nor any physical or psychological cause for hallucination.

I am reporting this because I can think of no other logical conclusion for what I saw than to label it a UFO.

It was round, silent,illuminated pale white, and it moved, from where it wasn't suppose to be. It was a typical mid-summer evening in West Central Alabama. The sky was crystal clear and full of stars.

The temperature was in the mid seventies and the wind was calm. I live beyond the distraction of city lights and sounds and in the midst of near dead silence and a glorious view overhead,I swear I was a witness to the following; It was around 10:45 PM when I began preparing to retire for the evening. My wife and Miniature Dachshund had gone to bed about an hour before.

My routine includes checking door locks,night lights,oven settings,candles,etc.This also includes a walk through our covered patio area out back where we often spend quiet time outdoors most summer evenings,weather and mosquitos permitting.We have a TV,a fan,candles and other items we enjoy out there just like any other room of our home.

As usual,I went out to secure the patio.I stepped out onto our uncovered,attached patio where I began to take a big stretch and yawn before heading back in to the bedroom.My stretching motion shifted my head backwards and up toward the sky and.

there it was! In the sky directly above me,was a perfectly round,silent and still object slightly smaller than the full moons we have here,and not quite as bright,but similar in color.I knew from it's position in the sky however that it definately WAS NOT the moon!Our moon starts out in the eastern sky and moves east to west across the sky on the southern side of our house,regardless of the time of year,and is viewable ONLY from an area some fifty feet north of where I was standing! My eyes remained fixed on the object for about 10 seconds or less,at which time it very slowly moved off to the west/northwest,and faded away into the clear night sky. It's distance away from me when I first saw it was impossible to judge.

I can only base it's size on the only object similar to it,the moon.When it began to slowly move away,it moved a distance of about one and a half to two times it's own size before fading out of sight,never making a sound of any kind.And as usual,you could have heard the hum of a mosquito's wings that night.

I have waited this long to report my experience because I felt then,and still believe this was a sign from God,to let me know he has heard my prayers. I am of sound mind.Alchohol,drugs or any mental shortcomings simply does not figure in to this event in any way.

But it was.unidentifiable. Am I the only one that saw this? Has anyone ever seen this before? I really would like to know.
