Strange hovering ball of light that floated over Maryville TN on 12/16/2005 at 8 p.m. I stared at a white ball of light that looked like a street light in the sky.

The sky was cloudy with no other stars in the sky. I witnessed other people driving by looking at it. The ball of light seemed to hover in one spot and moved a short distance across the sky then returned to its original position.

I called my brother on my cell phone then suddenly; it went out like someone turning off light bulb. I could still see it when it was out, then it disappeared.

Multiple sightings in Tennessee. First off, I am not a liar nor do I have anything to gain from this report. I know the chances of a UFO sighting is rare, and I know that multiple encounters almost never happen.

But I beleive this is due to the fact that simply no one is looking up or noticing what is around them everyday. I felt compelled to seek this site out and tell my stories since my latest sighting is the third within 48 hours. But I have had several encounters with these objects over the past 10 years.

I will explain below. I will start with the first of the three sightings this week: Sighting 1 - On 11/17/05 at approximately 18:35 while driving east on Tellico Pkwy in Lenoir City,TN I noticed two extremely bright lights hovering approximately 200-300ft. over the lake.

This was a familiar site to me as I've seen it before, so I pulled into the next boatdock that happened to be within site of the object. I watched as the object slowly creep across the lake and change direction several times before flying over the hills. I also noticed that it seemed to be purposely staying away from the houses.

Sighting 2 - At precisely 22:50 that same evening, while sitting at a traffic light near the Wal-Mart/Home Depot plaza in Lenoir City TN at , adjacent to the highway in a field I noticed the two extremely bright lights again slowly hovering approximately 200-300ft off of the ground. The traffic light turned green but since there was only one other car on the road, I decided to sit and watch this object. I rolled down the window to hear a faint "shooosh" sound coming from the craft.

It continued to slowly make it's way torwards me but the veered off away from me right before passing over. I turned my vehicle around and decided to try follow the slow moving craft, but in an instant, the craft quicky accelerated out of sight. Sighting 3 - Earlier this morning,at precisely 5:42, I was heading east over Ft.

Loudoun Dam in Lenoir City TN, when I notice the object hovering over the lake approx 300yds off the highway. Again it was very low to the surface. I pulled off to watch for approximately 1 min before the craft did a perfect 360 and headed north.

As I said before, I've had multiple sightings of what I believe is this very same type of craft. My very first sighting was approximately 10 years ago in Loudon out in the country. I'm guessing the time was around 22:00 - 23:00 and noticed the craft slopwly moving across the top of the treeline.

I immediately knew this wasn't your everyday airplane. I followed the best I could with what roads I could find to lead me in the same direction. This went on for about 10 minutes.

I managed to get within a few hundred yards of the object, but eventually lost it. My next sighting would prove to be the best to date. It about 5 years ago.

I was driving west on Hwy 72 in Monroe County leaving Vonore TN. It was approx. 23:00 - 24:00 When topping a hill I noticed a tractor trailer heading my direction violently swerve over the yellow line.

I slowed to see what was up when I ten saw the craft about 400 yds in front of me hovering 100ft over the highway. I assume the truck driver was seeing what I was. Though I'm not sure if he stopped as well.

I watched the craft hover across the highway into the wooded area to the left of me out of sight. And then to my surprise, to my right was another craft slowly headed northeast of me. It was about the same height off of the ground.

I creeped my vehicle down the highway to watch this second craft when the object stopped and changed directions. I pulled off to the side of the road and I turned off my vehicle hoping to hear a sound. I proceeded to get out.

I watched the second craft for at least two minutes when all of a sudden I started to hear this "shooooooshing" sound coming from behind me. I looked around and saw the first craft headed directly over top of me. It was now about 200 ft over me.

These crafts appear to be approximately 30ft in dia. I can tell it's either a diamond or cross shape due to it's lighting pattern. It has two very bright lights in front with one light on each point of the craft.

The rear light appears to be red or green and usually blinking. To anyone not paying special attention, the lighting configurations may look like a common domestic aircraft, but their maneuvers are quite uncommon. The only military aircraft that I know of capable of this is the Marine's Harrier or the new F/A-22.

But these crafts appear to be smaller and extremely quite when compared to the two. If these are indeed military, then they have managed to keep this secret aircraft under wraps for at least a decade. If they are visitors from another world, then what better camouflage than closely mimicking our aircraft's lighting designs.

Ether way , I hope to get one of these objects on film very soon. I should also mention that all of my sigthings have all been in the colder months. Not sure what significance that is,(if any) but it's defintely worth noting.

If anything, I hope this report causes more people out there to look up more often and pay closer attention. It's very easy to get into a routine and take your surroundings for granted. I would imagine there would be thousands more sightings every month if not every week if people would just look to the skies more often.

Orange light far away from moon, then zoomed over to moon, and stayed there. First it was far away from the moon. I thought it was a star, but it was too orange-looking to be a star.

Then I watched it travel (at about the rate of an airplane) over to the moon. It zoomed, then immediately stopped under the moon. It has been lingering there, slowly shifting from left and right.

My mom and sister came out and saw it. My mom said it was just something NASA was doing.but it moved too fast.

Very bright light, then sharp angle cruise toward North. Object appeared to be 20,000 to 30,000 feet altitude toward the North by Northeast and had bright piercing light toward me for 2 or 3 seconds, then dimmed to a faint redish light and made very sharp angle turn toward North, then vanished because of cloud cover. A 10 or 15 seconds later an aircraft flew about the same altitude from where I had lost sight toward the Southwest in a straight flight path.

OBJECT in the Hermitage, Tennessee Sky I was on my back deck taking pictures of our trees in the back for the fall colors, 1st year in our new home. I used my Nikon Coolpix 2200 digital camera to take this photo. I DID NOT see this "object" when I took the photo.

I took several pictures of the trees, this is the only one with this object in it. I honestly do not know what it is. My roommate thinks it something on the lens, my camera lens is very small, I do not think something was on the lens,if so, it did not show up on any other pictures.

I was suprised to see this "object" on the pic. Anyway, you can tell me what it is, if anything? Dust? I am a UFO believer, but don't wanna be a fool.

MUFON Tn. confirmation of sighting Confirming that MUFON Tennessee recieved 6 witness reports of a descending object which exibited peculiar charateristics. These reportees were within a 50 mile radius.

Descriptions are almost identical of a slowly descending object which was relatively N.E. of this area:(36.

5950°N, 82.1890°W) and began at a high elevation. Relative size, according to witness(es) descriptions was that of a golf ball initially.

The object meandered slowly as it descended, became a bright "plasma-like" light twice during it's descent and exibited the appearance of burning paper before being described as "melting and dripping plastic" by witnesses. All witnesses described that the phenomenon had not terminated before descending below their horizon. Subsequent inquiries have not confirmed our suspicion of this having been a meteorite or man-made space debris.

Slowly falling, plasma-like object My mother and myself had just exited our home when we saw at approximately 60-75% elevation, a very bright egg shaped light that at first appeared to be aircraft landing lights. As soon as we began watching it, it changed into a orange colored , misshapen glowing mass and began descending. It slowly meandered downward(unlike a meteor) and seemed to "drip" orange fire like burning plastic.

Hovering craft over Memphis, TN Driving from north Mississippi to Memphis TN is a short trip in I-55. However, I've been noticing when I wake up early to go to work between 4-5am and as I'm driving north.I look out west or north west there is this.

thing about a few thousand yards.not sure of the distance that just hovers there.doesn't move.

It has two strobe lights on the bottom as if to mimick a plane.but the tickler is it doesn't move! I've seen this for consecutive mornings over and over.and then the other day I saw it again.

This time as it hovered, there was a burst of a light on top .maybe on top of the aircraft.and it looked like the light was going around.

as if it was on a tube or a cylinder. I tell you.its spooooky.

One of these days I will take my digital camera out there and see if I can't take a picture of it and have it sent in. I know there has got to be more witnesses.with all these drivers on the highway.

However, the craft is pretty clever to show at dark.and looks to be mimicking aircraft lights. But if you just watched it for a few minutes.

you will realize it just doesn't move.its as if it stopped but still hovering over the city.watching and looking for something.

An optical illusion, not a UFO My wife and I looked at Mars saw small red and white lights flashing on and off quickly. The lights were very close to Mars (within its "halo") and below Mars, from the 4:00 position to the 7:00 position. I called our son, who lives 6 miles away, and he saw Mars but did not see the lights.

I suspect that the lights were some sort of an optical illusion. The sky was clear, and the ground temperature was 54 degrees Farenheit. There was a full moon to the upper right of Mars, and the night sky was very bright.

Fast moving noiseless object with three solid red lights shining at approximately -2.5 magitude. At approximately 9:40pm I step outside to check conditions when I noticed appoaching from the west-southwest was three solid red lights in a very tight "V" configuration.

From the time I first notice the object, appoximately 40 degrees above the west-southwest horizon until I lost sight of the object when it was approximately 30 degrees above the east-norteast horizon 45 seconds had elapsed. The lights were a bright red and no sound that I could associate with the object was heard. The configuration of the lights were very much like those of an aircraft except the lights were a steady red in color and no sound was heard that I could associate with the object.

Lights intensity did not vary as the object transversed the sky. Seeing condition were clear and bright. Object moved in straight line.

Objects rate of motion and lack of sound give the impression of a satellite passing, but the red lights were approximately -2.5 magitude. I'm a amateur astronomer for over 40 years.

Very familiar with the night sky. As a side note, we've had some unusal helicopter active tonight. Low flying, under 1000 ft.

, heavy lift type helicopter about an hour before the observation of the red lights.

Triangles hovering close to ground over Mufreesboro, TN Reading other Murfreesboro witnesses they are similar to experience I had. Don't remember date but late evening on I-24 East coming over the hill you see Murfeesboro well. There were several triangular bright shapes on either side of the interstate.

They did have a red light to some and somewhere I drew a picture. I remember large round lights to the craft. Most were up pretty high in the sky but what made me post this is a 1998 sighting and I saw the saw 3 triangles hovering very close to the ground directly over Mufreesboro in a triangular formation.

They were still. People were pulling off the interstate and slowing down so I know I wasn't the only one seeing it. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the incident is approximate.

Strange Object Passes over House I was standing in my backyard, watering some plants. I happened to look up at the sky and noticed a small white dot flying in a southwesterly direction toward the city of Knoxville, which is a larger city in East Tennessee. It made no noise; however, there was an aircraft just south of the object.

The identifiable craft was a commercial airliner. I have experience in aviation, and this dot did not have wings that could be seen. Aircraft pass over all the time; however, you can always see their wings and they frequently leave contrails across the sky.

Huge black cylinder, in front of cloud. We were at Hasting's in Maryville, next to Foothills Mall, picking up my wife's paycheck. It was a cloudy day and my wife was speaking to me, as I was looking out at the skies.

In front of me, and approximately 45 degrees above the horizon, in front of a large, very high cloud, thousands of feet in altitude, so high it is hard to estimate. I saw a very large, well defined, black cylindrical object in front of the cloud. The object was stationary, and horizontal, and was there for about 5 seconds.

Suddenly the object rotated to the vertical, and while completing its rotation disappeared backwards into the cloud it was in front of. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

Shiny or lighted object going very fast then maneuvered as if to dodge something, like a Bat would do, then the whole thing tilted bac I saw one object at 4:15 AM in a clear sky with bright stars. It was small and was descending. It was lighted all over.

It looked to be about 500 feet off the ground and about 2 feet square with one edge, the front edge, tapered. It shot across a clear sky at a very, very fast speed then maneuvered as if to dodge something, like a Bat would do, then the whole thing tilted back and forth very quickly 3 or 4 times. All most like it had lost control then It just disappeared.

This entire episode lasted no long than 5 seconds.

Round saucer shaped craft streaking over the south side of Clarksville TN shining light beams north and to the ground. There was a bright flash of light that lit up the area. The flash came from above light at camera flash but lasted about a second or so.

There were two objects that streaked from point to point going left to right. north to south. The slowed a bit after crossing the sky.

Their form was visiable clearly round disks. Colors changing and then they shot what looked at to be light beams that went on and off The lights were aimed at the ground but an an angle. It looked like they were trying to illuminate an are like they were looking for something.

I was coming into Clarksville on 41 at Sango it looked like they were aiming north. Could have been Fort Campbell but I have never seen a round or saucer shape anything in the air around here. Plenty of military air craft but nothing like this.

These objects seemed to be in a slight mist or haze.

8-11-05 Objects pass in the sky, then play chase! I finally saw the "dancing" lights I have alway's heard about. It was awsome! Tonight, I went out side about 9PM to see if the meteor shower was visible yet. I looked straight up and noticed something moving.

I live out in the country, under a fly path, and almost alway's see something moving in the sky's above me. Most flights are at maximum altitude above me (30 K feet, I believe it is). Anyway's, looking at this movement in the sky, which seemed to be much higher than normal flights.

much higher, and not the normal path I usually see,heading more south than southeast, when all the sudden I saw it zig-zag. I thought my eyes were playing tricks with me. I kept looking and it happened again.

It zig zagged to both sides, several times. So, I ran inside to get my binoculars. When I got back outside I pointed my binoculars towards the area in the sky, where I believed the object should have been by this time and somehow, almost instantly had this object in view.

At the same time I saw another object, coming from the opposite direction , in the same view. The paths of both did not look very straight, but definately on the same paths. Their paths looked so close that I thought they were going to hit.

As soon as they passed each other, the northbound object immediately turned around and followed the other object, like it was nothing.kind of like playing a game of chase. The turn radius had to take less than two seconds.

kind of like a kid turning his bike around in the street and heading back in the opposite direction, in one smooth motion. I was awstruck! I have never seen a plane make movements like that, includine jet fighters I have watched on tv. The turn radius was way more severe than anything I have ever seen on tv.

I don't see how someone could withstand G-forces like that, the way the one turned. The objects looked like solid white lights (not blinking like planes usually do), kind of how planets look through a telescope, and they may have even been a little oblong. not a perfect circle.

I watched these until they went beyond the tree lines to the south. I have probably seen thousands of planes in the sky's, above my house , but have never seen anything like this. This was amazing!!!! I wanted to tell someone, but didn't know who I should contact.

So, I at least wanted to find a web site and get out my enthusiasm of what I had just witnessed. So, here I am. I do believe in UFO's, and do analyze everything I see in the sky that looks suspicious.

I alway's conclude that what I see is a plane, helecopter, weather balloon, or a satelite. I ruled out everything on this list. This definately was odd.

These things looked like they were moving faster than the jet's I watch. I have no idea what I just witnessed. I have to call them unidentified! Not the normal sightnings I usually see in the sky.

I just hope someone else saw them. I am so excited!! I almost forgot. I didn't hear any sounds coming from these objects.

Scary and very true This happend awile back . Me and my family were having a fire outside and were injoying the night sky when we heard a loud sound in the distance . It shook the ground it was a not a loud sound but a low roar like thunder.

We stood there a looking up to the sky for any sighn of lightning but it wasnt even cloudy . A few moments later the sound came again this time louder and with bright grey lights . The sound shook the ground so hard that you could feel it in your head .

We realized that the sound could not be thunder of any kind . We could not see through the trees where the gray light was coming from. On the oppisite side of the tree line was a large cattle field.

We all figured thats where the light were coming from . We have one old woman that lives down the road and she does not make any noise so it couldnt have been a neighbor it was to loud and to powerful for a machine or anything of that nature . We all kind of started to worry so we went in the house after the second time we saw it .

As soon as we got in we felt the low roar and felt the floors in the house shake . I was standing by the window and it shook the house so hard a picture fell off the wall . Again the lights were very bright and could be seen over the tree line and throught the windows of my home .

The tree line was a ways off from my house so it was unbeleavible that something that far away could make enough energy to shake the walls and be as bright as it was . You could hear the cattle running behind the house to apparently get away from whatever was out there . We considered calling the local police but did not because we thought it would be made fun of .

This contiuned for another 30 mins or so then stopped . It would light the woods up like the middle of the day and shake the house and suddenly stop then do it again . This went on for about an hour .

I went out to see if i could find anything the next day but i found nothing . For nothing to be there was suprising because something was in the field that nigh! t . After that night i have contiued to see strange lights in the woods but no sounds .

It always happens in the colder months for some reason . I havent asked my close neighbor about that night or if she ever see's lights or sounds coming from the woods but she never asked me so i suppose she was asleep that night Plus i dont want to worry her she lives alone and im sure it would scare her . I will post what i see from now on to let you when i see more lights or hear anything .
