1 object with green and red lights I lived out in the country at the time, and was outside on my front porch. I seen this, it was like a clear glass ball and in the middle of the ball all the way around the ship was this silver piece that had red and green blinking lights, and it like had this beam of light that came out of the bottom. I was so scared and shocked that I couldnt speak to ge tthe person with me to turn around.
It was just hovering over the trees. Then all of the sudden it vanished. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Blue-ish fireball speeds past the University of Memphis in winter of 1993-1994. A friend of mine and I were sitting on the curb of Central Ave at the northern end of the campus of the University of Memphis around 3 or 3:30 am in either November or December of 1993 (although it could be early '94--I do know that it was pretty cold so it was sometime in the winter). No one was driving on the street or near the area we were at (virtually directly north of were the new university library is)--the area north of the campus is almost entirely residential with no bars, pool halls, or Greek houses, plus most students who are out at the strip are on the other side of campus and usually start to trickle home around 2am.
Essentially, the area my friend and I were in was totally deserted despite the fact that Central is a large 5 lane road when it passes the university. The sighting began when my friend asked for a cigarette: as I held one out to him, he looked in the general direction of my hand (towards the east). Just above my hand, he later said, and down the street about a mile and a half he saw something headed our way and said "what's that?" I turned and looked and saw a blue-ish fireball about a block and a half down the street headed in our direction.
This fireball was maybe 3 or 4 feet in diameter and was travelling pretty fast (approximately 40 to 50 mph) down what looked like the center line of the street. When it passed above and in front of us, we noticed that it was at a heighth about 5 or 6 feet above the telephone poles that support a traffic light set up for students crossing the street (no cross street). As it passed, the fireball made a kind of "hushed" whooshing sound: similar to that of a cardboard tube when one swings the tube like a bat, but very subdued.
Also, the fireball had a short tail of blue-ish flame (about 5 feet), but left no smoke trail behind it. The fireball zipped by us and continued down the street to the west until it was out of sight. I'm not sure if what we saw was ball lightning or something different and possibly more exotic, but I thought it might be worthwhile to let somebody know about this just to see if anyone else saw the same thing.
I find it hard to believe that my friend and I were the only people to have seen this thing.

black oval/circular object that did not reflect light spotted over Lake Cumberland - chase helicopter involved I was googling "Lake Cumberland" + UFO and came upon your site with an identical sighting a decade earlier. Four of us were traveling on the lake at night on a boat and saw a helicopter following us. What we did not see that came up alongside our boat was a an oval or circular shaped object (50 ft.
elevation) that the helicopter (appeared to be Hughes 500 type) was obviously following 200 yds behind. The craft made no apparent sound (as claimed by other sighting) and gave no reflection when we pointed our spotlight on the craft. Both the object and chase helicopter flew off in the distance.
We sat there for awhile stunned at what we had seen and had no plausible explanation. The four of us are credible witnesses, one a former Marine, an accountant, a pilot and information specialist. I was simply amazed at the identical sighting and have often wondered what we saw that night.

Ball of light seen over Holston Army Ammunitions Plant. The UFO was provoked by my friend and I and chased us to my house. I am a director of operations currently for a major trucking company and have been employed with them for 17 years.
I am a 40 year old white male born in 1980. I currently reside in Chattanooga, TN and previously lived in Atlanta, GA, Memphis, TN, and Knoxville, TN (University of Tennessee, bachelors in Finance) after high school. Currently single and no children.
I was born in Johnson City, TN, moved to Longview, TX for 10 years and then back to Kingsport, TN in the summer of 1991. My sighting occurred roughly in the summer of 1993 or 1994. I would prefer to leave the name of the friend who was with me that also witnessed this event out of this report.
We lived in the same neighborhood, Ridgefields, and went to school together. I have not spoken to him since high school and not sure how comfortable he would even be talking about this. I am not aware of his status today.
I felt given the nuclear facility connection in my sighting, it was important given the ! recent events in this area to make a report for at the very least a data point. I will be emailing a Google Earth overhead shot diagraming this entire event. In the summer of 1993 or 1994, I am guessing June time frame, my friend and I walked from my house to the gas station down the road to get snacks.
It was getting dark on the walk back home and I estimate the time to have been around 9 PM. As we entered the park near my home, we happened to look up into the sky and noticed an odd ball of light that seemed out of place. Initially, it looked like a planet in the sky, but slightly different with a shimmering around it with occasional red, blue, and green hues.
It did not appear to be a star either. I am estimating roughly a mile for the altitude, but very difficult to judge. The direction and apparent altitude of this object would place it over the Holston Army Ammunitions Plant there in town at the base of Bays Mountain.
This facility manufactures RDX and HMX used in nuclear detonation and other things as well as being a national defense stockpile. Being young kids, we started making jokes and “provoking” this thing calling it! a stupid UFO and saying things like “Hey, we’re down here!” and other things similar, including expletives. I estimate we yelled at it for a couple of minutes or so.
To our absolute shock, suddenly this thing started to move. I watched it descend towards the top of Bays Mountain. I would estimate it had a high rate of speed in the 300-400 MPH range while traveling parallel to the top of the mountain towards our direction.
It covered the length of the mountain in a few seconds, much faster than an aircraft would take to cover the same distance. It then descended straight down and out of sight as it appeared to have entered the woods/neighborhood. At this point, we didn’t know what else to do but run across the park as fast as we could, scale the red brick wall around my housing development in what felt like a single leap, and run into my house and upstairs into my room.
We were kind of frantic once inside, nervous and excited, and trying to figure out what just happened whe! n suddenly the object flew right next to my bedroom window in ! between my house and the neighbor’s house. It was an orb shaped object about the size of a large yoga/exercise ball. The color was a solid white, very similar to that of a standard light bulb, with a slight glow around it.
There were no other colored lights on it at this point. It had slowed down to a very low speed and appeared to have tracked us down and was investigating my friend and I for a brief couple of seconds. I immediately ran downstairs to run outside again to try to find it, but at that point it was gone.
I didn’t see what direction it left in. The next morning a black helicopter flew over my house and hovered for a minute or in the same area the orb had been before leaving. I cannot directly connect that to this event, but given what happened the night before, I thought it was very strange and uncommon to have a helicopter in the neighborhood like that.

A silver orb seemed to hover and move in and out of the upper level of a large cumulus cloud. When I was 7 or 8, I was very much into distance running. There was a 1.
1 mile loop that I ran several times a week. On a cool day sometime in the spring I was running up a large hill near a local middle school. I looked up at a large cumulus type cloud and noticed what looked like a tiny silver sphere hovering next to the upper right part of the cloud.
It was very shiny, reflecting the sun like a car would on a sunny day. I immediately stopped running and stared at this object trying to figure out what I was looking at. I could tell the cloud was moving slowly towards me, but the object seemed to remain stationary.
After a few moments the object moved to the left, appearing to go inside of the cloud. It stayed hidden for a few seconds, then moved right and again hovered in the same spot. I watched it for a few moments, and it seemed to begin to move vertically very slowly.
Then it again moved left into the cloud and didn't emerge for what felt like several minutes. As I began to run again I looked up one last time and saw a brief glimpse of the object as it moved in and out out of the cloud on final time.
