Vermont UFO Sightings in 2002

It was an extremely huge object, with greenish lights on the bottom, a dome shape on top and very low, flew over lake and house. I am reporting events as told to me by several of the witnesses. This object was sighted by 5 people each watched for different lengths of time.

My nephew was sitting in the living room and noticed an object over the lake that is over the lake, (Lake Champlain) It was large and was low over the the lake. The top appeared to be a light and below there were other lights. The bottom lights were possibly green according two witnesses.

He watched the object come off the lake and fly very low and circle around the house. He could see the bottom of the object and it was like a white light. The bottom part was rotating where the lights were.

They were kind of greenish. It disapeared out to the west. About 10 minutes later it reapeared in the front of the house kind of diagnally from it and just skimed a huge weeping willow tree that is out front near the driveway.

Possibly 50 ft or so. Then it went back over the lake. He could see the object stop and hover over the lake for a few minutes.

At this point a beam of light came out of the bottom of the object. it was a yellow white. It beamed down onto the lake.

It went down and right back up. It came back at this point toward the house. About 50ft away it stopped.

Came a little closer and then stopped. He was standing on the railing of the deck on the front of the house. It was about even with me in height.

Then it moved straight up and quickly passed. At one point my sister started to watch it from the window My nephew went in to tell my mom. My sister saw several lights hovering over the bushes near the house across the street.

Then it headed towards the house and then over. My mom came and looked out the window. She described it as very large, and she could see greenish lights on the bottom.

She saw it over the lake and it just hovered there then started coming back towards the house. She called her neighbors who live across the street and the women said her daughter said she was watching a strange plane out the window. My other nephew who is 6 also saw it.

My nephew said the was no noise from the object. My nephew said it look like a dome shape on top. No one has had a chance to talk to the neighbors sense the incident.

Multicolor flashing cone object in Vermont My wife, son and I were camping in Vermont. At 8:15 PM he went outside. He called my wife out to look at an object.

He then called me out also. We were on the White River, at a spot that we had been camping at for 10 years. In the NE sky at an altitude of about 2,000 feet we saw a stationery object.

We noticed that it was flashing. We got a pair of binoculars from the car to look more closely at the object. My wife looked first, and couldn't believe her eyes.

My son them looked at the object and said, "what in the earth is that? I have never seen anything like that before!". When I looked at the object, I could see flashing lights. They were extremely bright.

Almost like strobe lights. The colors were; red, yellow, blue, green, and white. They appeared to be in a cone shape.

The red light was on the bottom left. The white light was on the bottom right and slightly higher up. The Green light was even higher up and in the center.

the blue light and the yellow light were further up over the green light. The lights flashed in rapid succession, and seemed to be in a pattern. The speed and intensity of the lights were intense.

We were all sure that this object was nothing that we had ever seen before. It was not an aircraft or weather balloon. When I returned home I reported the sighting to the Air Force.

red, and green flashing lights in VT Seen: 2 separate lights, flashing green, possibly white, and red, in the northern sky and the western sky. These lights are very close to earth and apear to be flashing consistantly, perhaps they are satellites? I have read a similar response from this site reported 2/23/01 from VT identifying similar lights. These lights are most certainly not stars.

triangular light formation Last Saturday night I was staying at a friends house up in Northern Vermont. Earlier in the evening (from 10 - 11pm) we watched an impressive display of the Northern lights. I fell asleep on the couch and awoke around 3am Sunday and decided to take my sleeping bag and pad onto the deck to fall asleep under the stars.

While stargazing I noticed what appeared to me as a satellite tracking from south to north. Upon further observation I noticed that the object was being followed by two additional lights of the same size. All three were equidistant forming a very distinct triangle pattern.

The lights were about 1.5 - 2x brighter than the surrounding stars. Lying on my back they appeared to be about one hand width distance from each other from my perspective.

The lights were white only with no accompaning marker lights such as those on an airplane. I grabbed binoculars from the house but was unable to focus on the target objects. I continued to follow the objects with my naked eye as they tracked steadily to the north.

The lights held the distinct triangular pattern and faded into the horizon. I have seen many satellites in the past but never three in such a distinct formation. I became motivated to file this report after talking to several friends and realizing that it seemed quite odd for three satellites to be moving in what appeared to be formation.

Additionally, I am accustomed to seeing satellites much earlier in the evening. An interesting side note is that after the sighting I observed two brief flashes, similar to a mirror at a great distance reflecting sunlight. The flashes were quite brief but 3-4x brighter than the stars.

These occured about a minute apart from each other and were overhead in the area through which the objects had passed. At this point i was all set with skywatching for the evening and promptly closed my eyes and eventually drifted off. ((NUFORC Note: We are aware of the U.

S. Navy "NOSS" satellites which currently are in orbit, but they are not in a polar orbit, to the best of our knowledge. Also, they probably would not be visible at 3:00 a.

m., since they probably would be in the Earth's shadow at that time. We do not know what the witness saw.

I was watching the northern lights when I saw three lights in a triangular patter heading due south. I abserved them straight above me for approximately 10 sec. Then they faded away.

As I continued to search the sky I saw another three more lights in a triangular pattern on the same flight path as the first three. They also faded away in the same place. ((NUFORC Note: Suspected satellites.

a self propelled pentoid or cylinder shaped object that looked light brownish and it moved like a plane. I spotted the object out my window at work and called one of my co-workers over to view it. We definetely see alot of airplanes from this window as the airport is not far away.

I saw the shape as somewhat pentoid but 3 dimensional with a small blinking light. My co-worker described it as a cylinder with definete edges and again with the light. We called a third person over to see it but she could not spot it as it was disappearing from our view and probably going higher.

I thought it was the color of a paper bag the light was white and intense. The wind is blowing in that direction today but to us it looked self propelled as it left our field of vision fairly rapidly. we were standing outside in the dark, when all of sudden we looked up and saw what appeared to be an airplane, but after we took a second look , we noticed that first of all it wasn' t making any sounds, also it had 7 or 8 flashing lights. It was moving very fast, so two of us ran inside to get a camera while the other stayed and watched it . By the time we came outside with the camera the other person told us it disappeared into the sky!! We started heading in when it came back and this time even closer!!!!!! we were soooooo scared we could tell that it was a ufo now because it came close enough that we could see it.

I was about to flash off the camera when it flew over the house without a trace of it left!!!!!!!.

Light dot moving over trees. My dad, my brother, and I were driving home from a late afternoon fishing trip when we say this little circle of light moving over the trees, it was moving very slowly. I may have been a helicopter but all the time I've lived here I've never seen a helicopter flying in our little town.

We stopped to look at it, it just sat and hover way up above the trees then it started moving slowly. that was when we left.

At 00:50 on 5/4/02, a bright green circle was observed moving N by an observer traveling NE at 60mph. I was driving north on Rte. 22A in VT, behind several cars and trucks, averaging 60 mph.

My teenage daughter was asleep in the passenger seat. Just south of Bridport, VT, as I was coming up a rise, a brilliant emerald green circle appeared at the top of my windshield (coming from behind us). As it moved it left a slight green trail behind it.

My car's compass was reading NE, and the object came at a slight angle from right to left, so I estimate it was moving N (this would put it above Lake Champlain). The duration of the event was no more than 1 second. By the time I reached the top of the hill (about 100 yds), the object had disappeared.

I had a clear view of several miles, with clear skies.

The object's lights were very bright and pulsing when it took off after it was completely still shining bright white light. My daughter and I were driving down Rte 5 going North coming from Dummerston Vermont to Putney Vermont. We were probably about 1/8 of a mile from the Sunoco Gas Station in Putney when we saw a very bright white light in the sky that was standing still.

I said that is too bright to be a star so the farther we got down the road, it became appparent that this thing in the sky was a UFO. We immediately pulled over to the side to the road (someone else pulled over too) and I looked up and the object was trianglar in shape with a rectangle at the horizontal end of the triangle. There were 3 white lights in the triangle, one on top of 2 and red and green lights in the rectangle (red and green and red and green).

It was very close to the us and flew right over our heads going South. Then it went East very quickly and went out of sight.

Unidentified string of ball lights seen in valley of Shaftsbury, near Rte 7A.heading South to Bennington spotted off Old Depot rd. While walking my dog at night, I saw what appeared to be lights in a string across the sky.

I thought a plane was low-flying and perhaps ready to crash.I thought the lights I saw were strung across the front of the plane and wings. However, there was absolutely no sound to be heard from the object.

I then supposed I maybe saw a searchlight going across the mountains but it did not really make sense since I heard no sound of either a helicopter or plane. It appeared to be a string of beaded lights in a horizontal pattern. I ran inside and got my daughter and son to come out and look at the strange object, since I had no clue what it might be.

My mom brought my brother and I outside to see some sort of object.I asked her what it was that she was taking us to look at but she didn't know. At the time I thought she had seen a wild animal in the woods and wasn't sure of it.

When we were outside we went to the top of the driveway and looked out over the mountains. We then saw about 50 lights-ones you might see on a passing airplane, none flashing- about halfway down the mountain. It moved slowly across the mountain in a horizontal fashion, with a few lights disappearing from the left, and then reappearing on the right.

It gave a creepy sound, one that you might hear if a person was trying to sound like a ghost.one you might hear one an episode of the Twilight Zone. The sighting of this object frightened me and I wanted to go back inside, which we did.

When we got inside, the object was gone with the sound from our view, down south towards Bennington. My mom and I were baffled of what it might be, thinking of all we could, we only came up with ideas like "A stealth plane" or "A helicopter sending out a search light across the mountain", none made any sense.except a UFO.

Cigar-shaped craft flew slowing and at a low level directly over the back road I was traveling and right over my me. It was just before 7:00 pm as I was headed for a library board meeting in my town. I turned out of my driveway onto our dirt road and saw what I thought was a low-flying plane flying directly over our road which is straight.

I thought this strange and when it continued toward my flying low over the road, I got out of my car to watch it ffly over me. I still thought it was an aircraft of some sort. When it was pretty much directly overhead, I saw that it was not a plane at all, but an oval shaped craft with lights on the bottom.

I felt I was seeing something out of the ordinary and had a horrible thought that I might be somehow beamed up. I jumped back in my car sped to the library. The craft continued flying low but made a 90 degree angle, which I am sorry to say I did not see, but the craft was headed in a perpendicular direction when I finally looked.

I cannot remember if I heard any sound coming from the craft or not. I am a primary school teacher and not prone to flights of fancy. When I got to the library, I told them that I thought I had almost been abducted by aliens and they good-naturedly laughed.

The story came up at a family party this weekend with people who were encouraging. This is the reason it has taken so long for me to report.

Orange streaks in the sky. Location: W. Rutland, Vermont Driving North on Rt.

4 in W. Rutland, Vermont on January 3, 2002 I saw an orange streak in the sky. I thought it may be a reflection on a jet from the sun going down since it was about 4:45 pm.

Then I noticed 3 other streaks. I slowed my car then noticed the largest streak (the 5th and last streak I saw). It was much darker orange than the other streaks and much longer and appeared wider.

It seemed to be moving toward a mountain, but because I was still driving, I may have imagined that. But, I saw 5 orange streaks. I can't believe that there were 5 planes or jets in the sky at once since we don't often see planes in the sky in this area of Vermont.

I am not saying these were UFOs but I don't have any reasoning of what they were. Also, I do not think they were jet fume trails. But, I don't know.
