UFO appeared in the sky of Michigan Lake in Chicago recently On the morning of 6 Dec. 2002 about 7:04 ,I was looking over the window to enjoy the view of Michigan Lake as my used to do from the 30 F apartment in Chicago downtown. I found a very special flat lights in the sky , it highlighted in the front of my window and the other area in the sky was bland, the lights last for three or four minutes, then it disappeared gradually, I wondered that it could be the said UFO probably.

guitar pick/teardrop shaped object in sky traveling NW to SE, soundless with 1 leading headlight I was traveling to work on I74 at aprox. 06:40 a.m.
I've always been a skywatcher,so while the traffic was light I stole a glance at the sky. It was cloudy and I saw no stars until I looked over my left shoulder and saw what I thought was one bright star. I then noticed it was moving slowly SE and thought it might be an airplane but noticed no other lights.
I heard no sound. I pulled onto the shoulder and stopped to get a better look. As it passed over, I noted it was a "guitar pick" shaped object of a dull metalic color with one "headlight".
It flew at about the height of a low flying airplane. What really stood out to me was its shape and the fact that it had no wings and no flashing lights like you might see on an airplane. I don't know what this object was and am interesed in finding out if anyone else saw this.

New Salem Red-Green Fireball Pre-Thanksgiving On November 23, 2002 I recalled seeing at 10:18 pm while listening to a "Solid Gold" oldies rock and roll radio and having heard the time, a bright red then changing color to green fireball fall from the sky. The reason I am sending this to your database is that I did not know it existed until I got the book, "The worst case Scenario Survival Handbook: Travel, in it is the phoine number and e-mail address of your web site. I had written the entry on the page about Alien Abductions which was humorous.
Anyway, the fire ball travelled from North by Northeast to a Southwest by Southerly direction, initially it was bright red like the Japanese WW II symbol only on fire with a fiery tail. It then turned a bright Light green color which was flourescent. This all lasted 2 minutes near the town of New Salem of of I-72.
I was travelling east bound and the sky was relatively clear with many stars. But what really caught my eye was the fact that it was slower than a shooting star. Lats it was BIG, I mean I estimate the head end to be at least 100 feet in diamter and the tail to be 200-50 ft long.
There were no sounds. I was heading to my brothers house up in Peoria, IL that evening after having left a company meeting in KC. I was looking forward to thanksgiving and spent an evening pointing some celestial bodies out to my relatives, brothers sister in laws, nephews and nieces.
I am an amteur astronomer. I am a mathematician-statistian by training and did not believe UFO's until I saw this. This was definitely not of earthly origin.
((NUFORC Note: The date is a few days after the annual meteor shower, which peaked on November 18-19 in 2002. However, a meteor would not last for 2 minutes. They usually last for just a few seconds.
Moreover, the witness identifies self as an amateur astronomer, so he almost certainly would be able to identify, and quickly rule out, any type of pedestrian celestial event, we suspect. PD)).

3 stop signs flying in a triangular pattern I was looking through my telescope at the moon when 3 ships crossed my line of site with the moon. When I refocused my telescope on the objects I saw that they were flying in a triangular pattern. They looked like thick black stop signs.
The lead ship was flying very sporatically moving up and down and sided to side like it was survaying the ground. All three ships stayed very close to each other. When they past the moons light I lost them.
I waited about an hour following the moons movement and sure enough they passed going in the opposite direction. I though maybe it might have been a satalite but I ruled that out when I saw them again in the opposite directions. They were moving fairly quick.
((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. We have requested more information about the incident. PD)).

While standing on my front porch looking west I noticed a white light about 4 inches in sizes. The white light was not moving and at first I thought it was a plane coming into the local airport. After a few seconds I noticed that it was not moving.
I then watched the white light as it made a complete circle in the sky. The light seemed to move a large distance while making the circle and was smooth in its movement. Then when it had came back to the same spot, it took off at a great speed heading straight up.
I used to fly as a flight medic in a helicopter and have flew in planes, and I have never seen anything move so fast in my life. I also must add that I did notice a plane fly at or about 30 thousand feet heading west.

Speedy object preceeding by a low murmur flies overhead at night with flashing lights, I got home, parked my car, turned the radio and car off and got out. It was then I heard a strange noise, it sounded like a generator or the engine of a diesel truck running but a deeper sound and the interverals were not as fast as you would here the revs of an idle engine. It was loud but I could tell it was from a distance.
I couldn't pinpoint where it was, so I went in the middle of the cul-de-sac looking down the street thinking that someone had a generator hooked up to thier house or something like that, then I saw some flashing lights in the sky red, white, and I think blue. I really couldn't tell exactly how high the object was, maybe a mile or two high. I would have thought it was a jet except I heard the murmur before I saw the object and it did not sound anything like the sound jets make breaking the sound barrier although I never seen jets go this fast before or this low.
My guess it was an experimental aircraft. This thing was fast, I'm in the suburbs so there isn't much light in the sky at night and it was very clear, I could see the star constellation Orion the Hunter without a problem what-so-ever. I never heard that noise before or seen anything fly by that fast.
Once it came over head I didn't hear the murmur anymore, it made a higher steady pitch sound for a brief moment and then it was out of hearing range. It was hard to make out the exact shape, however I did see some lines that came together, kind of like a diamond shape but not solid all the way through. It was really dark and really can't make out the shape all too well, but all the lights were alternating strobes that flashed approximately twice within in a second, although I didn't count them.
The object was coming from the Southwest (more West) and heading towards the Northeast (more East) in a straight line. I figured it's probably some test aircraft the Air Force has been working on or something to that nature. I never saw or heard anything like it.
I don't want to sound like a nut or anything but I figured it was weird enough to report it. The whole experience lasted about 15 seconds. Thank you.
((NUFORC Note: We spoke with this witness and found him to be quite credible. The object, which appeared to have three lights on it, covered the entire sky in approximately 10-15 seconds, he estimated. PD)).

Object moves across sky and stops. Minutes after, a circle of lights is seen moving in a perfect formation, then the lights converge During my Astronomy session, we were told to look towards Polaris. We did this and about 30 seconds later, noticed an object moving south.
We thought it was a plane and then it stopped. It sat there for about 2 or 3 seconds then moved back to the north. It moved north for about 5 seconds and then changed direction again to the south.
It did this for another 5 to 7 seconds. Then it moved rapidly in an easterly direction and disappeared. The object was yellow almost a gold color About 4 minutes later, I saw a circle of 6 to 8 lights (gold dots) moving at a very fast pace to the south.
These lights were very small. I followed it in a southerly direction and then they moved out of formation and looked like they were going to dive and then they were lost in the clouds. This last sight lasted about 10 seconds.

Strange object in the sky at the early morning It was about 6:15 am, and I was waiting for the bus, when I just happened to look up into the pitch black sky (( it was winter)) and I saw a strange craft moving sideways across the horizon. I couldn't tell what shape it was, but it made no sound and the only reason I saw it was for the single light it had on it, which constantly went dim, then grew brighter. the light was of a red color.
AS i continued to watch the object, eventually it started getting shaky and started flailing up and down at an accelerated rate, until I lost sight of it. I don't know if this object was a UFO, but I have no idea what else it would be, it was seemingly black in color, made no noise, and hovered in the sky with it's pulsating red light until it started freaking out and dissappeared ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous.

silver, circular object moving at great speed with no apparent rising or setting on a horizon Saw it as a silver, circular shape moving at great speed, at high altitude in a straight path from Northwest to Southeast. I was able to see both horizons and the object did not rise or set from either direction. It seemed to appear then disappear at great speed across the sky over a 5 minute period without sound, trail or lights.

Late in 2002, while in my wife’s car driving towards O’Fallon, Illinois, I saw what appeared to be a triangle. It was moving in an even fashion. Since it was at night, I saw only the lights.
There was one large red light in the middle that blinked and slightly smaller white lights forming a triangle that were on steady. I thought at the time that it could be a stealth bomber, so did not note the date. Later I got a good look at stealth fighters on TV and they have smaller strobing lights.
I also found that the description fits other reports of triangles. ((NUFORC Note: We spoke via telephone with this witness, and he seemed serious-minded and credible to us. He has had several other sightings.

Throbbing chevron pulsating lights craft Coming home from my bowling night at 2:38 a.m., I noticed an unusual shadowy effect upon the house next to ours.
Some how the craft had the ability to generate a strong magnetic field as the electronic devices in my vehicle were acting mysteriously as I stood and stared with disbelief the craft revealed itself in its full glory. It must have been hovering at least 250 – 400 feet above; it totally obscured a huge cloud and had to be at least the size of an aircraft carrier. It had multiple rows of lights (I would estimate 12-15 rows).
The lights ranged in colors from a pale yellow all the way up to a deep dark purple. The lights pulsed in a unique symmetrical way, yet some how it seemed to follow some sort of code. Somehow I felt as though it was communicating with my inner soul, I was not afraid yet I felt at peace with the universe.
I had been trying to re-establish contact with the beings but somehow feel that my neighbour’s loud music is interfering with my cosmic karma. The alien aircraft had an unusual disproportionate wedge shape when it originally uncloaked and after about 10-12 seconds, additional micro-pods began appearing as though attached to its starboard and aft sides. I discovered the following day that I was photo-sensitive and had minor vomiting spells.
((NUFORC Note: Witness describes self as being experienced with electronic circuits. PD)).

7 Shooting stars in sky near Decatur Driving west on I-72 in a rural area of the interstate near Decatur, I noticed 7 fireballs in the southwestern sky in rapid succession. Each one appeared for approximately 2 seconds followed by the next one in the same location streaking southwestward. They appeared to be shooting stars but only covered a small area of the sky before each one disappeared.
The total duration of the event was only 20-25 seconds.

I am a 34 year man, professional engineer. Christian. Drug and alcohol free.
Married with 1 child and 1 on the way. I am open minded to paranormal phenomenon. I was out walking with my daughter in an open farming field.
It was about an hour before sundown. Few clouds. Visibility was excellent.
I observed an object traveling across the sky from zenith to about 30 degrees above the horizon, at which point it faded from sight. It was moving generally to the Northwest. It made the trip in about 20 seconds.
I could not discern altitude. There were no contrails nor was any sound discernible. The object was a dull white color.
There was no glint or shine from reflected sunlight. It was the size of a pea held at arm's length at its largest. There were no details or protrusions from the object.
Its bearing and speed were constant. I observe the sky regularly. I have no clue what this was.

10 shapes were flying about a mile outside of Ohare field. At about 4:30 pm my wife was getting our kids in the car to leave when we heard our neighbors yelling, look up there! There were 10 what looked like balls of light at this distance moving around what I estimate to be a mile or so up. Higher than the planes are at that distance from the airport.
They then formed into a hourglass shape or two triangles and remained that way for about 5 min. Then changed again to a inverted L shape and started to travel east twordes the lake. They then changed again to two rows of two or five on top of five with the outside two being farther north than the others.
They stayed this way until out of site about 15 min time total. Approx. 5 minutes later two more came directly north to south past us at a much closer distance ( still one on top of the other) so we could see the shape was a triangle or possibly diamond.
We know of no one else who saw this on Sat. which we find incredible. ((NUFORC Note: Witness provides no internet contact information.

On my way south on Highway 55 from Hillsborogh Ill. I saw a configuration of bright flashing lights in a circular pattern about 34 to 50 yards in diameter hovering about 4 stories above the ground.Imediatly before seeing these lights i saw a bright ball of light above and in front over the highway.
It seemed to fall a little way and then burn out like very large flare. Then Ilooked to my right and saw what at first resembled fireworks. Bright white, rapidly flashing lights.
First I realized the the lights were not falling and burning out like fireworks. As my line of sight changed do to the road curving I could see that the light were aranged in a very big circular patternand were hovering high above the ground in one place. They never moved and eventaully they were obscured by the landscape.
There were a lot of cars on the road and I know Im not the only person who saw it. I would very much like to know what it could be. Original report taken by MIG: Missouri Investigators Group www.

Orange tear drop craft flying in the west. I was looking west from my apartment balcony. I couldn't help but notice this bright orange object moving from north to west over the western horizon.
I beleive the color was orange because of the sunset reflecting off the object. I thought it was a shooting star but it moved to slow. Possibly an airplane? It didn't fly like one.
I seemed like it took forever to cross the sky but then it was gone in a flash. I took several photos of the object. About an hour after sunset, I was out walking my dog and had this strange feeling I was being watched.
I looked directly up and saw a silver (kind of a mercury) bright light directly above me it looked like it was next to an airplane that was passing overhead. The object sat there for a minute then it took off stright out of the sky. It was as if some had just turned off light.
For some reason, my gut tells me that this was the same object I saw an hour oh so earlier. I also believe there is a pilot or two out there that saw this thing.
