Albany, OR Lights in the sky. The craft(s) flew from south to north, on a fairly straight path. The path was slightly erratic, the light was unsteady and wobbled from side to side.

There was a cloud deck, and the light stayed under the clouds the whole time. The craft(s) flew directly overhead, making no noise. As it passed overhead, we could see that the light was coming from approx.

7 individual lights. The craft(s) continued overhead, and on the south/north path. This path continued until the craft(s) were lost to sight.

The light was orange/yellow in color, and seemed to shift hue, but only very slightly. One witness, a college graduate, says that it reminded her of "a box with lights on it , with the light coming from within" A second witness, 26, says that it looked like "one object with lights in a pattern. Equally bright.

The same color orange." The third witness, 25, was the first to spot the object, seeing a bright orange light, at first thinking it was landing lights from an airplane coming in to land at the nearby airport. The lights were the wrong shade, however, and that is what grabbed his attention.

Fast Moving Bright Light Temperature was 29 degrees F., sky clear. My wife and I were outside in the spa.

I spotted an object moving from the NE to the SW. First appearance was at about 1030 (with 0900 being the east horizon, 1500 the west). It was round and about as bright as the brightest star visible in the southeastern sky.

My wife saw it immediately, as I said something like "meteor" when I first saw it. But it moved slower than a meteor and didn't disintegrate. I followed it until it disappeared behind the roof of the house (I stood up to extend my viewing time).

Its highest point was just to the south of us. I then asked my wife about what she saw. How large? About six times as large as the brightest star (which was the EXACT figure I had in mind).

Color? Slightly orange (I agreed). Nature of the light? A bit diffuse, as though an intense light was shined on a cloud. Agreement again.

The track never varied. There was no noise. There was nothing visible around the light.

Its intensity never changed. A satellite? No, it was too late in the evening to see satellites, and the track would be quite unusual for it to be either a satellite or space debris. A meteor? Possibly, but given its speed, constancy and duration, unlikely.

It was definitely not an airplane (no sound, no flashing lights).

I heard a strange noise, suffered a physical and emotional response to it, military jets "chased" it away. I was lying in bed listening to C2C AM on my AM/FM alarm clock-radio. Suddenly, the radio signal was reduced to an annoying "buzzing/humming" noise.

I tried cranking the dial up and down on both AM and FM but to no avail. While I was trying to acquire a signal, I began hearing a "whirring" noise in the ambient background. Unable to find a radio station after several minutes, I gave up and turned my radio off--strangely enough, the digital numbers on my clock still worked and the minutes seemed to pass in a normal time-frame.

Once I had turned the radio off, the "whirring" sound became more prevelant. As soon as I consciously thought about the "whirring" sound, I suffered migraine-like pain in my head. As I lay there massaging my temples I suddenly felt a sensation of absolute and total primal fear.

I wish I could describe it better but essentially, the part of my brain that warned my ancestors that they were about to be eaten by a saber-toothed cat fired off at full strength! I knew that if I moved or turned on my lamp that something "bad" was going to happen to me--I've never been that afraid in my life. Maybe three minutes after the migraine ensued, I heard high-performance (military) turbines speeding through the sky at what I estimate to be less than 1,000 feet ASL. As soon as the jets - I distinctly heard two aircraft - came over the town, the noise, the feeling of dread and the pain ceased immediately.

For the next few minutes, I heard the jets perform a hard climb and then all was silent. I am new to the area I live in and I don't know my neighbors, so I was reluctant to ask strangers about any experiences they may have had that night. I am a University student, a security expert, and an aircraft enthusiast.

In general, I am fairly skeptical about UFO phenomenon and extra-terrestrials. I hope this report serves to further your cause in some way. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate.

Extraordinary set of 2 long lasting flashes light up the entire sky. While watching a movie early in the AM, I was distracted by two separate extraordinary flashes of light in the sky. The Color of the flashes as viewed from inside my house was a blue/green to purple.

Each flash lasted for about 2 seconds. (one one-thousand, two one-thousand) This was a cold, lightly clouded evening. The color, duration, and circumstances were not like lightening, and typicaly "fireballs and meteors don't seem to come in pairs.

Each flash was about 1 minute apart. About 5 minutes after the flashes, my roomate came home from work and described seeing the same thing as he was driving home. The intensity, duration and color of the flashes were suprising to my roomate as well.

The flash lit up the entire sky in our area.

Bright light seen near Mars, descended rapidly. At 6:31 pm local time in the clear SW night sky I was looking at the ascention of Mars, when I noticed a white light in the proximity of Mars. It was 1/3 the size of Mars and was below it.

The color was bluish white, and could have been a star at this point. However, the light began to descend at a controlled rate, too fast for aircraft and too slow for a meteor. There was no vapor trail or comet tail.

I could not discern if the object was in Earth atmosphere or not. It became obscured by some trees after it had descended for several seconds. It never changed size or color while I observed it for 30 seconds or so.

I saw weird, moving lights along the Columbia River heading Eastward. On my way to Lewiston Idaho on Wednesday the 26th of November, I was driving along the Columbia River and saw a bright yellow light move past me going Eastward. I was about 21 miles East of The Dalles, Oregon and I was going about 85 or 90 mph.

A light passed above me and was going at least twice my speed. I could see the reflection of the light on the river. I thought it was just a plane, but I rolled down the window and couldn't hear anything.

All of a sudden it seemed to just stop and went North, towards Washington. It was really spooky.

Wobbling Disc Daylight Sighting I was in back of our house looking at the sky and noticed an odd looking object. I was not sure what I was seeing at first. The object was wobbling slowly.

It was moving slowly from South to North, against the prevailing winds, which were blowing West to East. I would estimate the alititude at 1500 to 2000 feet. The sun was low in the sky.

The object was reflecting sunlight from western edge, and appeared to be a silver disc shape with a brown or dark colored center. I would estimate the diameter of the object to be about 20 to 30 feet. I could not hear any sound from it.

I ran in the house and got my binoculars, which took about 30 seconds. When I returned the object was gone. If it had been some sort of balloon it would have still been in sight.

There was a small private airplane approaching the area where I had last seen the object. Duration of the sighting was about 2 to 3 minutes. ((BEGIN FOLLOW-UP MESSAGE FROM WITNESS)) Hi Peter, I just filed a report on an object that I saw here in Portland late this afternoon.

I had been watching the object for 2 or 3 minutes, and decided that it was probably not a mylar balloon or something like that. It was moving Northward towards me, and appeared to be moving against the wind. I ran to get the binocs, and it had flat vanished, which surprised me.

I didn't get a feel for the size distance or altitude of the object until I had returned with the binoculars. There was a small private plane moving into the vicinity of where I had last seen the object. I don't know if the pilot had seen it or not.

The plane seemed to be a bit lower than the object. Which would have meant the object was much larger than I had susupected. If the object had been something floating on the wind it could not have disappeared in the 30 seconds, or so, that it took me to get my binoculars.

That is why I was surprised that it was gone from sight when I returned, back outside. I had the distinct feeling, at that point, that this had been an intelligently controlled craft, it had seen the small plane flying in it's direction, and had vacated the vicinity. By the way, when I had finished filing the report I went in and looked at the reports from Oregon and read the ones from 11/6/03.

I live about 1 1/2 miles Southwest of the control tower at PDX, and about 20 blocks South of Lombard. Not too far from where those 2 sightings happened. I watch the air traffic all the time, day and night.

Today's sighting was about the 4th one I've had at this location, in a little over three years, since we have lived here. It's good to hear your reports again on Coast to Coast AM! At about 6:30 p.m. 11/08/03, our next door neighbor's litte girl came over, knocked on the door, and asked if we wanted to see a UFO.

I find it very difficult to describe. There was what appeared to be light clouds surrounding it. It was fully dark outside.

The sky showed a dark cloud bank to the north and east and partly cloudy conditions with lots of stars visible to the south with what seemed to be a light low drifting cloud cover to the west. What I saw I can only compare to the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. It seemed an object made of clouds was approaching from the west, approximately a mile away judging from the landmark it seemed near.

It was round, apparently flat and very large. Holding both my hands at arm's length would not cover it. The outside of the circle appeared to be moving very fast with lights in the pattern of a circle, blinking somewhat in strobe fashion, and the entire circle of cloud seemed to be moving in the direction of the lights about as fast as a fan blade would move on a box fan.

Inside the outer circle of lights there was another circle of lights also moving in a circular motion, but not as fast. The object slowly approached were we were standing. It made no noise whatsoever.

When it was almost directly overhead I could see that the very center of this cloud phenomenon was clear and stars were visible through it. At the point it was almost directly overhead it turned on it's side (like a tire being picked up from being flat and put into a position of function)and took off at a tremendous rate of speed, disappearing into a heavy cloud bank to the north and east. Immediately after it did so, the sky overhead became completely clear with stars visible to the west and south, as though the thrust and/or heat had disippated the clouds behind it.

This lasted about 15 minutes from first sighting to disappearance. I don't know how many people actually saw it, as a friend had called my neighbor and told her about it. It was so quiet that we (my husb! and and myself) would never had known it was there if we had not been told.

I find it very hard to describe, but I cannot think of any natural phenomenon to accout for it.

Two dark objects flying low without any sounds. At first we were driving my girlfriend noticed objects in the rearview mirror.They continued over us in front of the windsheild view.

She was frantic and upset with me not seeing them.So we pulled over into a parking lot,for about one minute we didn't see anything.It was very cloudy so when they came back in veiw we could tell that they were very low.

They moved very slow without a sound that we could hear the one in front was about the size of a plane.The one behind it was massive bout one hundred yards or bigger it was BIG.There we're no lights visible the color a dark or grey like color on both objects.

We confirmed with one another that they were not aircraft that we could relate not helicopters,not planes,nor blimps.All i can say we had an eary feeling and did not know what we saw for certain.They traveled north at the same slow speed untill we could'nt see them anymore.

This object was on the south beach area near the airport. I believe the object was partially behind a hill, so I wasn't able to get a view of the whole thing. It was very big it's hard to tell because of the distance away I was but at least 150 to 200 yards long.

the object had two triangular points on each end and was connected by a straight piece. The object was very very bright the whole thing was lit up there were no spaces in the object that I could see. The light was white maybe alittle off white slightly.

There was also a white light that circled the object through the middle. It moved up and down very slowly behind the hill just sitting there, then a coast guard helicopter flew over to the object and started circling around it, then the lights on the object just went out instantly.

Yellow/orange light in evening sky followed by military jet activity I was unloading my car at my apartment and I noticed a gold/orangey light in the sky, I was facing South. It was really bright, which caught my attention because normally Portland at night is really cloudy and you can't see much. Anyway, I noticed the object and I got an "eerie" feeling, for lack of a better word.

It was just one light, no blinking. It came from the west, not terribly fast, then it seemed to slow down, but was still moving. No sound.

There is lots of airplane activity around where I live, so usually it would be no big deal. I know what the commercial planes look like at night, and it wasn't one I am used to seeing. Just when I was ready to brush it off as a weird plane the object began to move erratically, "jerking" in strange ways.

I turned around and shut the trunk of the car, which caused me to face north and then I turned back around and it was gone. I got a weird feeling and started walking back to the apartment. Just as I reached the door I heard military jets do a fly over, it was weird though because I couldn't see them when I just saw the light a moment ago.

I have no idea if it was just one plane or what but it was really loud. I then went inside my apartment and told my husband, who seemed unimpressed. Also, NOT SURE on the time, I approximated.

Young woman reports witnessing F-15 fighter jets approach a peculiar sphere over Interstate 5. Telephoned Report: A young woman reports that as she was entering traffic on Interstate 5/Southbound at the Lombard (?) Exit, approximately 3 miles south, or southwest, of Portland International Airport, she noted that cars were stopped on the highway. Some of the occupants of the stopped vehicles were outside, standing on the tarmac, looking up into the sky.

When she looked up, she noted a prominent sphere, hovering seemingly motionless in the sky, and two of what she thinks were military fighter-type aircraft, possibly F-15's, were circling, and flying in the proximity to, the peculiar looking sphere. She emphasized that the jets were quite low, and that they allegedly were jinking and turning in a fashion that left no doubt as to the fact that the sphere was the reason they were present in that body of airspace. She did not obtain contact information from any of the other witnesses present, and she did not contact any local authorities or news media about the incident.

((NUFORC Note: We are awaiting a written report of the alleged event from the witness. It seems unusual to us that we did not receive more reports, either via telephone, or e-mail, about the event. When a similar event occurred over Portland on September 01, 1999, we received dozens of calls in rapid sequence.

Dear PD, On 11/5/03, my wife described a sighting to me that sounds very similar to one reported by a witness in your database for Portland, OR for the 6th of November. Your other witness saw the object as she was entering I-5 southbound near Lombard St., about 4 miles sw of the tower at PDX.

My wife saw a white, circular object hovering in the direction of I-5 & Lombard, but she saw it near the intersection of 102nd & Sandy Blvd., about 3 miles se of the tower at PDX. Could you verify the date with your other witness, because my wife is absolutely certain she saw this object at about the same time on the 5th (it was her day off work and she was running errands)? Unlike you other witness, my wife did not see any fighter jets in the area, but it sounds like your first witness saw the object almost directly overhead, whereas my wife's line-of-sight was more like 45 degrees above the horizon.

Pink-Orange sphere photographed near downtown Portland, OR At 4:48pm local time on Saturday, 11-1-2003, I was driving, just crossing over I-5 on the Alberta Street overpass. I looked south and noticed a bright pink-orange stationary round light aligned over a tall building in Portland's downtown. I had a camera with me so I stopped on the overpass.

Trying to zoom in to the object, I saw in the viewfinder a very bright "burning ember" uniform light over the full visible area of the object. However I was unable to snap the picture due to underexposure. I reframed at less zoom factor and was able to get the shot, emailed separately, PICT0145-1.

jpg. By the time I got the shot, the object had dimmed considerably while shrinking in size, and I was not sure I even got it. The picture has a 10x scaled up blow-up of the object.

It was not an airplane or helicopter, the light was too large for that. When I see things like this, I wait to report to see if anyone else reported it. Turns out between 11-1 and 11-8-2003 there were several other western U.

S. sightings of spheres like this object from New Mexico to Seattle.

2 more fast, noiseless, triangular objects seen above Scappoose, OR within 1 week of first sighting The description of these 2 events are similar to that which we reported last week. Both craft were fast moving, much faster than a small prop plane low or a jet plane high, but much slower than a meteor. No prop or jet sound was heard.

Both craft were hard to track, because again it appeared that the 'lights' on the craft were more reflective than self-luminous. No Northern Lights were seen all night, probably due to the skyglow from Scappoose, of which we live on the southern end. The first craft was traveling from NW to SE towards Portland.

The second craft was seen about 1 minute later traveling from SW to NE. Both were seen as they travelled away from us. The first craft had a 'light' at the front and 4 or 5 on each of the swept sides, but the trailing edge, if it was there, was completely dark.

The second craft had only three lights, one at the front, the others at the trailing tips. The sky last week was overcast, the sky this week was completely clear, yet neither time did we actually see a shape to these craft. The shape was determined by the placement of the lights only.

They could have been triangular or chevron shaped. We both find it quite odd that with as much time as we spend outdoors at night, we have 3 sightings within a week, yet none for the previous 8 years here. As a side note, my dad, who is an published astronomer and recently gave a talk on Mars at Princeton, told me a few days ago that he saw an identical object in 1956 in Pennsylvania.

He saw the same, quiet triangular craft moving noiselessly at extreme speed with a pale light at each tip. He says it was translucent and observed stars through it.

Swift hard-to-see triangular object moving in a straight line across night sky with 3 luminous tips, one at front, two at rear. Observers were outside from 20:45 until 22:00. No meteors were seen in this duration.

Craft was hard to see, as it appeared to be the same color as the night sky, which has a considerable amount of sky glow from the town lights below. There was one light at front, two in rear, but they appeared to be reflections on the tips of the craft from the city lights rather than actual self-luminous lights. They did not blink.

Object moved much faster than any commercial or private jet or satellite that usually flies overhead, but slower than meteors. Object appeared out of the east with the 3 lights almost in a straight line, but one light clearly was at the front as it passed by and disappeared in the west. Object was about as big as the space between thumb and finger held one inch apart with hand held at arms length.

The object emitted no sound. We did not notice any stars being occulted by the space in between the lights, but it did not travel by any of the brighter stars, either. We disagree on whether it was a large object high or a small object low.

From our perspective it passed directly through the constellation Perseus, in the north.

saw red light appear move rapidly through the sky in salem, or and then dissapear. we were outside talking by the waterfront park in downtown Salem. Looking up saw a light come out of no where flew through the sky from north to south rapidly and then dissapeared after about 10 seconds.

the wierd thing was, there was no sound, and no trail. Yet there was a dim flashing light that was red. Moving to quickly to be a satelite, and wasn't a meteor because the lights looked like they could have been off a plain.

only it was moving to fast.

A LARGE UFO, LARGER THAN THE BRIDGE THAT DISAPPEARED IN FRONT OF ME.AND SOME KIND OF A FORCE FIELD THAT WOULDNT LET IT CROSS OVER HWY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING, PULLED OFF SIDE OF ROAD.FOG CAME IN, OVERPASS IN FRONT OF ME DISAPPEARED (MILE MARKER 222, 224 .

HWY 5 OUTSIDE CORVALLIS GOING SOUTH).TO MY LEFT A SPACECRAFT CAME GLIDING OVER THE GRASSY FIELD TO THE BEGINNING OF THE HWY AND STARTED TO CROSS TO WHERE I WAS.BUT IT HIT SOMETHING.

IT FADED OUT AND THEN I SAW IT AGAIN.THE SPACECRAFT BACKED UP AND TRIED TO CROSS AGAIN AND AGAIN HIT SOMETHING, FADED OUT AND THEN I SAW IT AGAIN.IT BACKED UP A THIRD TIME AND TRIED TO CROSS AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED.

AFTER THAT.IT BACKED UP OUT OF SITE.I WAS GOING SOUTH ON HWY 5 SO IT WAS ON MY LEFT AND IT WAS AT 11:00 SO I COULD SEE THE SIDE OF IT.

IT WAS TALLER THAN THE OVERPASS.IT HAD LIGHTS ON WITH WINDOWS.AND IT WAS A SAUCER TYPE SHAPE ON THE TOP AND BELOW IT WAS A FUNNEL AND IT SAT ABOVE THE FUNNEL.

AFTER THIS SIGHTING.I HAVE BEEN ATTACKED BY EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN.I HAVE BEEN ATTACKED AT MY EMPLOYMENT.

I WAS ON THE ROAD! WAY FROM 10PM UNTIL NOON THE NEXT DAY WITHOUT ONE POLICE OFFICER .THE POLICEMAN THAT CAME TO MY PASSENGER WINDOW SAID IT WAS NOON.MY CLOCK HAD STOPPED AT 10PM.

THEN HE HAND CUFFED ME AND TOOK ME TO ALBANY GENERAL THEN I WAS TRANSPORTED TO CORVALLIS GOOD SAMARITAN AND PUT ON A 5 DAY HOLD.I TOLD THE PEOPLE AT GOOD SAMARITAN THAT THERE WERE TWO SETS OF POLICE OFFICERS.ONE STATE POLICEMAN THAT CAME TO MY PASSENGER WINDOW THEN MY DRIVERS WINDOW AND THEN ANOTHER POLICE CAR .

DIPPED DOWN IN FRONT, SPOILER, SILVER WITH TWO POLICEMAN WITH WIDE RIM HATS AND GREY UNIFORMS.ONE HAD A POINTY FACE, THE OTHER A FAT FACE.WHEN THEY LEFT.

THEY WERE THE SECOND POLICE OFFICERS AT MY WINDOW.THE STATE POLICEMAN PUT HIS HAND THRU MY DRIVER WINDOW, OPENED MY DOOR, LEANED ACROSS ME AND PUT MY KEYS IN HIS POCKET THEN PULLED ME OUT OF MY VEHICLE, HANDCUFFED ME AND PUT ME IN HIS PATROL CAR WHERE HE TOOK ME TO ALBANY GENERAL.THEN FROM THERE I WAS TRANSPORTED BY A WHITE VAN TO GOOD SAM! ARITAN HOSPITAL AND PUT ON A FIVE DAY HOLD THAT TURNED INTO A ! NINE DAY HOLD.

THEN I WAS RELEASED.I DONT KNOW IF THEY REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO YOU.SO I AM REPORTING THIS INCIDENT NOW BECAUSE OF THE ATTACKS.
