Alaska UFO Sightings in 2003

black sphere with bright orange spotlight appears on x-mas eve in Alaska. It was Christmas eve so we were joking that it was Santa Claus. We saw it directly above some power lines from our viewpoint (the power lines were approx 30 feet away) and it appeared to be slightly bigger than than a #2 pencil point.

Strangely enough, it was not a clear night, it was definently cloudy and although it was pitch black out, you could still make out the UFO's black sphere against the sky. The sphere had one large round, orange light, like a spotlight almost. It was very bright.

It was stationary when I first saw it, and then started moving quickly in irregular patterns. It moved unlike anything I'd ever seen before. After what seemed like an hour (although it was in reality only 5 minutes), it dissapeared in a zoom like manner.

The only way I can describe how it 'zoomed away' is it kind of looked a little bit like the Starship enterprise 'zoom' in Star Trek (except without the bright flash). This was absolutely not a satellite, nor any plane that I know of. My entire family witnessed this event and I assure you, there was no special Christmass eggnog involved.

I'd be more than happy to draw this UFO or make a computer graphic of it.

UFO speeding south, westward of Fairbanks. Three bright lights were hovering over the hills westward of Fairbanks. They were moving too slowly to be of human craft.

The bright lights immediately zoomed south, sort of shrunk, then disappeared into the night sky. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicated a state of "AL," for Alabama, but we assume that the event actually occurred in "AK," Alaska. We have changed the state above.

Me and my freinds saw a red light and it whent straight up fast (no plain can move up that fast)then disapered after about 30 sec I went to a Hanshew Middle School bus stop and when i arrived my freinds said they saw a red light moving across the sky and i said sure whatever and we stareted talking about ufo's and then when there were about six people at are bus stop the girl said there it is and i looked up and saw a red dot moving and then it started gaining altitude very rapidly and stoped and started moving to the left and I saw another red dot moving tords it and the first light disapered and so did the second right after that.

A Light In The Sky It happen last night I went out side the sky was clear and the moon was full,the moon light shined so bright,that I could see the moonlight very bright in the night sky's/ when I looked up I seen a flashing light, it made no nosie,it was one big flashing light in the sky, it seem it was not very high uo either,a few thousands yards up,it went off then few seconds it was another feet away and flash a bright white light.It went on a few more seconds then it dissapear. It did not make any nosie,it just gliuded over the sky.

also in Aug,97 i picked up a hitchikeer and drove down the deserted road, and he was talking about ufo's,about 2 miles down the road he looked up and said whats that so I looked up. There was a huge cigar shaped object right above my car,it wwas bigger thween the cvar and i was going about 55 and the thing was going the same speed, when I looked up it had blue,red,white lights kind of look like out side lights It was huge,Ijust looked up there for a 22nd did not think nothing of it,then it was gone. What Ishould of done was stoped,but the huge object just was gone when I looked up again.

More stars moving around over Anchorage I have a report already filed from april 19, and since then i have had 2 more similar sightings, including one on Monday. Both times have involved an object looking like a star, but moving across the sky and changing direction once or twice. The 2nd sighting was also watched by my friend Dan, but i I dont remember the exact date on that one, it was around 3 weeks ago.

I am still at a loss since if they were satellites, they wouldnt change direction, and if they were planes, there'd have at least been noise, or blinking, or something. They always just fade away too, instead of continuing on their way. Has anyone seen similar stuff lately? Its almost becoming normal now to me to see this phenomena, whatever it is.

it was square like shape and the whole underneth of the aircraft was glowing red hot and there were two round shadows behind it We were driving from anchorage alaska to seward alaska at three am and there was noboday anywere along the highwaw when we saw a wierd shaped craft gliding toward us on the road with two round circles right behind it the whole underneth of it was red hot like the end of a cigarot bud when lite or like a hot furnis. it moved right over us at about two hundered feet obove us. after it pased us i went and looked out the back window of the moterhome and wated it until we turned the corner.

Flickering Star like Object Moving Laterally at about 0130 hrs The Object was seen at approximately 0130 hrs on the 7th, I did not know my exact orientation as far as direction is concerned it appeared to be near Fairbanks Int'l Airport. My wife spotted it first I looked and at frst glance thought that it may be venus because it was just stting there and it was very bright. Then I noticed it was slowly moving laterally.

It seemed to flicker like a quasar but it was too far away for me to get a distinct shape I am in army aviation so I dimissed rotary wing aircraft because the consume too much fuel to just sit it the air for no reason and they have a definite hovering appearance. I am not sure if weather balloons have lights or why they would be that far from the university. And lastly could it have been a hot air balloon? Your guess is as good as mine please reply if you have some idea.

I also call fairbanks airport operations and they said they had no idea?.

Multiple sightings in Council Alaska possible abuctions of two known persons in the 1980's (1) and 1990's(1). between August and February 20th there are alot of activity in the sky. Multiple crafts are there and can be drawn as sighted by me, some are around White Mountain Alaska too but not often.

ALASKA UFO VIDEO TAPED AND WITNESSED IN 2003. As a police officer working for the City and Borough of ((temporarily deleted during investigation)), Alaska in 2003, I was dispatched with the Chief of Police to respond to a report of a low flying object over one of the residential neighborhoods. The day was sunny, cool (about 60 degrees), and not a cloud in the bright blue sky.

When we arrived on scene, a local resident pointed to the sky approx 30 degrees up off the horizon, approx 5 miles away (estimations), there was a silver ball slowly moving across the skyline. As we observed the object, the resident shouted "No s(*%, a real UFO". We video taped the object for approx 15 to 20 minutes before disappearing over the horizon.

The most surprising observations were the inexplicable ability of this object to change shapes from circular to diamond, and back again. It appeared to vibrate and blur its borders while conducting these shape changes. The absolute strangest observation was my attempt to zoom in on the object where I observed symetrical smaller diamond shaped patterns in "the hull" (for lack of a better term) but the object immediately speed out of view in a looped, non-linear manner when I apparently was getting too much detail on the cam-corder.

Most unusual. I still have the video tape. This object is not anything conventional or seen before; not an airplane, no propeller, no "nose" or "bill" or "tail".

We did not shoot the object because we thought this was potentially some secret project with humans aboard. The incident is documented and witnesses are available. I have never been visited since; even though I wish I would be.

"Stars" moving together over Anchorage I was outside on the upper deck of my friend's house in south anchorage with a couple other people as well, and I was just kinda laying in a hammock watching the sky when I noticed something odd. Two lights that looked exactly like stars started moving down the sky past the other stars. One "star" seemed to be leading the other, and they made a fairly sharp turn together before disappearing in about 15 secs or so.

I was the only one who saw this. About 5 min later, I saw a single "star" make its way straight down the sky, making a couple slight changes in direction along the way. This also lasted about 15 sec and one of my friends saw most of this.

I never saw anything else that night but I was especially puzzled about the first sighting, since one light seemed to be following the other. As they made their sharpest turn it was almost like they were on a race track and one was swerving around the corner to keep up with the other. These 2 lights never went far from eachother.

If you're in Anchorage, keep watching the skies. I was surprised I got a second sighting after the first, perhaps this may be seen again.

it was green and fast and move at the speed of sound. there was a green mist coming over the sky and we saw something shoot out of nowhere in the sky when i was taking a picture of the green mist because i thought it was a beautiful aurora borealis. but while i was taking the picture, the green object viewed in my picture and thought it was a mistake.

but my friends said they saw it with their own eyes. the ufo looked like a cylinder or a cigar.

A strange orange/reddish moving object emitted smaller object and then disappeared over Anchorage Alaska! My sister in law called us outside on a very clear Alaska night, to look at a strange bright orange/red light moving in the sky directly overhead. At first we thought it might of been a plane but, the object suddenly stopped motionless. Then it reversed directions I ran to get the binoculars and saw what appeared to be multiple lights rotating.

After observing it for several more minutes we saw a small object separate and move away from the bigger object. The object then faded in and out then just disappeared.

ALASKA UFO, 2003, YAKUTAT, ALASKA. One feels stupid or even lethargic entering this account as ultimately skeptics will be skeptics and believers will be believers, until there is proof. Nevertheless, as a police officer in Alaska I responded to a local neighborhood call reporting a UFO in the sky.

The town we worked in was only 800 people, Yakutat, Alaska, so I went out there with the Chief of Police. We saw a white diamond object seemlessly traverse a bright blue sky without a single cloud. We got a video camera, and as I tried to focus in closer, it would dart away out of lense view, as if it knew i was attempting to take video! I still have 20 minute or so of video of this thing that would move in curvy directions, nonlinear, and vibrate into different shapes which appeared to be circular, then back to diamond.

High-tech secret, or otherworldly, who knows. I can't deny what i saw and have on tape. Neighbors came out and saw this thing with us.

Finally it passed out of view; we thought maybe it can read out minds? Who knows? I asked it to come to me, and even today, 4 years later, i still think when i am alone, that i wish it would be brave enough to contact me at some point in the future. To date, nothing. Perhaps I should not even attribute an animated intelligent to what i saw; perhaps it was just some high-tech secret project remote/drone; again, who knows.

The only thing I do know--it moved like nothing i have ever witnessed before either on the earth or in the sky. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. We will ask the wintess to forward the video for our inspection.

My brother and I were going to school on mid-hillside walking toward the west when we saw lights in the sky to the south. The object passed right above us about 150 ft above the trees. This time of year it was just getting light out.

There were four white lights forming a square and one red light in the middle. The object appeared grayish. When it got farther away to the north, the red light was going all over where the white lights weere.

It made a different noise then a plane or helicopter. It was more of a whooooo sound than a regular engine sound. ((NUFORC Note: We spoke with the father of the witness, who assured us that his daughter, who submitted the report, seemed quite serious in her description of the event described above.
