Perfectly Straight Light Line in the Sky above the Cloud Level. Looked like a crack in Sky. A line of light in the sky about the size of your hand.
The light was above the cloud layer. The clouds would cover and uncover the line of light. The line would not move.
Finally lost sight of the line after the cloud layer was thick enough to totally block the light.

Two Suspened orange vertical lights in the sky in the east. I saw suspended orange lights the shape of vertical columns just above the treeline in the eastern sky. They were about several hudred feet apart, if one was judging by the clouds.
I could not tell whether they were in front or in back of the clouds, however. I drove down the street, west on West Little York toward Hwy 290, and I saw two young men taking photos of the lights. The light on the left was 2-3 times the size of the one on the right, and they were both pulsating periodically.
After only about 10 minutes, they dissappeared, the light on the right ( the south ) dissappeared first.

The lights were long, slinder, fire orange in color, and pulsated in brightness. The backgrounds of the observers that witnessed this event are as follows: two owners of successful technology companies, operations manager of a manufacturing company, owner of a successful home remodeling company, two stay at home mothers, and three children from ages 7 to 16. We saw two vertical lights in the east to southeast sky.
The lights were about the length of the diameter of two full moons. They were long, slinder, and pointed in a vertical direction. These lights were fire orange in color and moved slowly in an upward direction.
The lights pulsated in brightness. The lights were about 400 yards apart from one another and faded away the higher they traveled.

Strange Happenings in Houston 2003 For about the past two weeks, my partner and I have been seeing a strange occurence in the sky at night when we go out to smoke a cigarette. At approx 1:30 every few nights we have been seeing an object flying without lights in the sky flying out of the south at a very high velocity. The only lights on the object are the ones from the city below.
There is no noise, almost like as if you were to be watching a bunch of balloons fly by at a fast rate of speed. Usually when we aren't looking for it is when we see it. It is the shape of a rectangle.

Mundane Satellite? It is a fun thing to do in the evening to count the satellites seen with the naked eye after sunset. These are very small dots of light traveling in various directions, and at different speeds. The average viewable time is approximately 1 1/2 minute.
For the past several evenings I have spotted what appear to be satellites coming from slightly west of North traveling in a straight line toward the South. As they approach a point about about half way across their transit, they make a turn to the right, and accelerate at a high rate toward the West. As they start to make the turn, they appear to slow down.
There is no sound or lights, or any clue that they are anything other than mundane satellites. The speed they achieve as they travel to the West is amazing.

Objects that zip in and out I thought I saw a falling star. I hurried to make a wish on it when I noticed that it did not fall, it zipped out of sight. Then it zipped back in and out again.
I then saw several more appear zipping in and out at very high rates of speed. I heard no sound. I thought perhaps it was a search light or laser but there was no light trail.
I was amazed at these objects above or near downtown Houston.

Object had no wings or tail and made no sound. It appeared cylindrical and at times disc like. We saw it in daylight in a clear sky I went outside with my daughter to take her roller skating.
We turned the corner of the building and right away I saw this object in the sky. It was silver and was reflecting the sunlight. As soon as I saw it I was sure it was not a airliner - it had no wings or tail.
It was traveling at a slow steady speed in a straight line traveling basically from North to South. I called my neighbor out and we watched it for a good three minutes. It would at times appear to me as a disc or a saucer and at other times it looked like a cylinder.
There was no sound. Nothing. It continued on it's way at the same speed on the same course across the sky until it went out of sight.
It was flying a little higher than the level of commercial aircraft in our area but it was clearly not high altitude. It wasn't an incredible experience but I would like to know how something like that could fly without wings or a tail. Or Sound.
Oh and one last thing there was no wind and it was traveling to fast to be a balloon.

Crescent Shaped Object West side of Houston, near the corne of Gessner and Westheimer. I noticed a bright light that flickered on the surrounding cars aad drugsore parking lot, and immediately looked up. It was a quarter moon shaped object with the horns either pointing upwards or to the west (hard to tell vertical/horizontal orientation at night).
The object was a brilliantly lit white, with two slighlty darker spots about 1/3 the way in from each end. The lighting remiscent of the glow of a neon light. It traveled from south/southeast to north/northwest, at a very high rate of speed, which I would estimate to be 2 times that of an airliner, maybe 600-650 mph.
It must have been low in the sky, because I first notice that it lit up the parking lot somewhat, however, it was above the low clouds as I saw it disappear behing a cloud; it did not re-emerge. No sound at all. Direction appeared to be a straight line.
I've seen plenty of meteors and other objects in the sky before, but I was always able to satisfy myself that they were normal occurrences. This was not a normal aerial object. I also surprised myself with the amount of detail that I was able to recall from such a brief sighting.
No tail or trail.

I decided to go out to the car for some reason, as I walked on the third floor walkway I saw out to the western night sky-(very clear)- some lights, at first I thought it were a top on a radio tower and then asked myself about there not being any radio towers there and that high untill it began to move ever so slightly.wel then I figured it to be a passenjer jet so I stopped to watch it fly-by. I watched and waited but it did not seem to go away or come closer so curiosity took over and I looked even closer at this object to see weather it were an small single engine aircraft or helicopter.
I watched as this object seemed only to move slightly up down and around in a very narrow window of area, as it began to move more noticibly, it's movement seemed to become erratic with short jerky meandering motions with a strange purposefullness about it. As I watched it I noticed it had 6 lightsin a sort of delta pattern, the lights were blinking simultaneously going from nearly white-(canary diamond white)-to beautifull orangish amber- these colors continued alternating one color change cycle per second for the duration from the time that I actually percieved the blinking.which was actually from the very beginning.
As I watched this object it began to descend a little bit and then it cycled it's lights down to orange then it slowly dimmed out within 2 seconds to a really dark cherry color and then to an allmost black amorphous shape with the still visible dark red color in the center near the bottom of the object. This phase remained for about 5 seconds then the lights turned back on again as it were and the fullest intensity of white light came from the 6 lights and it resumed it's cyclical blinking and then began to ascend diagonally south/southwest.while I was due east of it.
The object then leveled off and began to move at a relatively slow pace-(considerably less than common commercial aircraft minus small single prop types)-I then noticed anoth! er same object way to the right/north of the other object and still west of me. The newly appeared object appeared suddenly as out of nowhere, or the timer turned on the lights.well this thing just was going at at least a 70 degree angle and had no difficulty gaining altitude and covered several thousand feet at a speed that "seemed" to move around 1500-2000 mph at this time I ran downstairs to show the security guard but I realized that he would not have been able to see it from his perspective and then ran inside to call a friend.
I came back outside to look for the first object and noticed that it was not in my field of view anymore and the second was stationary [or it seemed]very high in the sky as if it were a bright star roughly was around the same general vicinity as where I last saw it except higher. I may be mistaken as it might have been a star which seemed to shimmer like a neutron star. I did not bother to continue to watch this star to see any changes and then heard my phone ring so I went to get it.
Note:The sky was very clear that night because it had rained a day earlier. I do not wear glasses or contacts and have relatively good eyesight. The entire duration of the movement of the object never once did it or they seem to bank or turn on any deviant axis from their original longitudinal /horizontal fixing.
when it or they moved it was only up down or around with a very 2 dimensional quality in the sence -(to repeat )-that they only showed "face" or one profile continually. The brilliance of the lights made them very cleary defined that is why I can reccolect 6 lights in their pattern on theobjects #1 and #2.as in the order first described.
When the #1 first dimmed out to a blackish amorphous object there were originally 6lights on the object untill it went dark then it seemed to have one dark cherry red glow about the center before resuming blink mode. I truly regret not having a video camera or at least a large pair of binoculars, this was an incredible event to me even though some! what surrealistic.the feeling that I got from viewing this/these objects was that of something intelligently controlled with the intention of being seen.
with an otherworldly feel from it which gave me chills at one point while viewing it, at the same time being totally exhuberant like I had won the lottery. I am not a pilot or have ever been.I am a sky watcher -(no optics)- I do not posess any licenses or badges etc.
Just a regular guy and no less credible according to my own perspective. This is not the first time I have seen strange things of this sort both here and abroad.I suppose that if you look up often enough you will see all sorts of things.
I could not really get a relative idea of the distance of the objects because of the unknowable size of them.a crude guestimate would put them at 5 miles near the vicinity of harwin street @ beltway 8 southwest houston or further. I will send a keymap copy of my point of referance.
sincerely j.c. You may make a summary description for me if you wish-feel free to use this as you please and also mail this back to me as for me to have a written copy of this incident as I did not write it in the beginning or cannot remember where I put the rough draft and allthough this may sound contrived it is the truth.
thank you .

Three dark mysterious objects in the afternoon sky On the afternoon of Saturday, August 16, other individuals and myself witnessed a prolonged sighting of three, dark mysterious objects in the blue skies in southeast Houston near Pasadena. While in our backyard, my son's 10-year guest first drew our attention to an object floating in sky at about 5:10 in the late afternoon. At first, the object looked like a dark dot in the sky and was too high to determine what it was even with my low-powered binoculars.
Initially, I dismissed it a cluster of balloons set adrift. But then I noticed that the object was stationary which was unusual especially at this altitude. At times, it would sway back and forth to show that the object had an irregular shape.
As it swayed, a lighter shade of color could be seen on its body. It was my wife's opinion that it was not balloons. After some ten minutes, the object slowly started drifting through the sky.
During this period, a small non-commercial plane, at an altitude of several hundred feet flew by between us and the object. The object stopped once again after traversing what I think were miles. We were still unable to determine what it was.
Then my son's friend alerted us to two more similar objects further out in the horizon. One of the objects slowly drifted to our direction but still not close enough to determine what it was. At about 5:40, all three objects could seen, stationary and distanced from each other by miles of blue skies.
Eventually, my attention was drawn back to our backyard activities. By 6:00, as we turned our attention back to the skies, we could no longer see the objects.

A UFO report that I submitted for August 16, 2003 is not included in the viewable database records on the website. Peter Davenport requested that I re-send my report and have it posted on the 8/16/03 "Three Dark Objects" entry from Houston, Texas. Here is my report: While enjoying a sunny afternoon in our backyard swimming pool in southeast Houston near Pasadena, others and I witnessed up to three unidentified, dark objects for a sustained amount of time.
Our experience started in late afternoon (between 4:00 & 5:00) when our neighbor's 10-year old daughter looked up in a mostly sunny and clear sky to see a dark, round-looking object. My 9-year old son, wife and I also saw the object. It was too far away to determine what it what.
At first, I thought it to be a small cluster of balloons set adrift. But I noticed that it was stationary, which would seem unusual for free floating balloons at this altitude. Even after viewing the object with low-powered binoculars, I was unable to determine what it was.
With my binoculars, though, I was able to notice that it was not completely round and had a irregular shape to it. Though the object was not moving, it swayed occasionally from side to side to show that portions of its body had a lighter color on it. During our sighting, a small-engined airplane flying at a low altitude of 200-300 feet went across our viewing area of the object.
The mysterious object looked like it was far higher than the plane. After viewing the object being stationary for about ten minutes, it slowly moved across the sky, still unable to determine what it was. Once again, it stopped.
Several minutes later, my neighbor's daughter pointed out two other dark objects stationed further away from us. They seemed to show the same characteristics of the first object. The latter two objects appeared to be miles apart from each other and eventually made slow movement toward us and the first object.
Into 30 minutes of this usually sighting, the first object once again moved slowly across the sky and stopped. The three objects never got close to each other. In time, my attention returned to our backyard activities.
45 minutes after seeing the first object I looked up to the skies and could no longer locate the objects. My wife also has no explanation to what she saw that afternoon with us.

Orange fireball w/green glow & trail low in sky no noise I was visiting my father's home in the Heights in Houston, TX and was outside walking my dog around 9pm (7/29). I saw a rather large bright orange fireball with bright green surrounding it with a long green trail streaking across the sky from east to west. No noise at all.
Very fast, but seemed to be low in the sky - large object. My sister was with me and by the time I yelled at her to look up, it was gone. Within the minute, we saw a large plane (didn't look like a passenger jet plane at all) with more lights than 'normal' travel in the same direction as the object.
Then the plane circled back as if in search (?). Very strange - I have never seen anything like this. I have seen meteor showers - (small, white streaks, high up), and the space shuttle entering the atmosphere.
comets.but nothing EVER like this! I am a college graduate (BS in CS) and now own my own business. I hope someone will report this! Other people in Houston had to have seen it.
I cannot find anything in local news or on the internet. ((NUFORC Note: Based on other reports of the same event, we suspect the correct date for this event may be July 28. We have amended the date above, and will attempt to confirm the date with the witness.
PD)) ((NUFORC Note: One of several reports of apparently the same event seen over Texas. It is interesting that the event has not been reported from surrounding states, given that a bright meteor can be seen for hundreds of miles around. PD)).

Glowing Green Ball travelling slowly about 50-200 feet from earth in Houston at Westheimer/Chimney Rock One Glowing Green Ball - appeared to be approximately 20 inches in circumference travelling slowly in a straight line - travelling from east to west appeared to be just 10 to 20 feet above the trees which, after approx. 10 seconds, blocked my view and I could not regain sight of again, and I did try. This was in the vacinity of Westheimer and Chimney Rock in Houston.
This was completely unexplainable to me and therefore, unidentifyable, and flying, and an object. The color of green can best be described at this time by viewing an ebay item #2649237375 The size of the ball and the distance from the earth is hard to determine. This is my perception of what I saw.
((NUFORC Note: One of several reports of apparently the same event seen over Texas. It is interesting that the event has not been reported from surrounding states, given that a bright meteor can be seen for hundreds of miles around. PD)).

Several gray spheres moving together in a rolling pattern smooth and silent across the Houston sky Several large spheres (3 or 4) rotating in a pattern as the object traveled across the sky directly above. I did not hear any sound. Silver or gray in color.
Object moved about as fast as a large passenger airliner in a straight line going southeast. This UFO may have been more than one object , however the way it moved so smoothly in a rolling pattern it seemed to be one at the time I saw it.

Flashing Lights Over Houston Texas I have been aware of your site for years but didn't really think to write this down until now. Anyway, I was sitting in my back yard smoking a cigarette about 9 pm sometime during the early part of the year (I think it was in February) when I suddenly noticed a bright glowing object off to my right perhaps 1000-1500 ft. away and perhaps 50 degree angle from my position on the ground.
The object really caught my attention because it made several rapid "jerking" maneuvers and then went through a rainbow of colors in a few seconds and then started flashing a white light. I quickly ran to the back door to call my roommate. He came out and observed the original object which had now begun to move to the northwest at a rather slow "helicopter-like" speed.
By this time, two additional objects (flashing the same white light) appeared and were moving into formation with the first object. What was striking about their movement was its "unnaturalness" if you will. They both moved very quickly and literally stopped in an exact triangular formation with the first object.
Then all three began flashing the same white light in unison. Suddenly, we noticed two additional objects literally appear out of no where and move into formation with the first three in the same odd manner. We watched the 5 objects move out of sight to the northwest.
The entire sighting lasted perhaps 5 minutes. It should be noted that traditional aircraft were clearly visible at the time of the sighting as we live in the flight path of Bush International Airport and a local airport. We have never seen a UFO but we are confident we have now!.

Bright light in the sky The object moved slightly upward in the sky i watched the craft for ten min. the object seemed to flash in a patern, bright-dim i went in to get binoculars and when i came back out it was gone iam a level headed person and i was not drunk ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date is approximate. We wonder whether the object might have been a celestial body, ultimately obscured from sight of the witness by high overcast.
Only a guess. PD)).

Voice mail from something not of this world I hate myself for not reporting this when I still had my evidence. My husband and I were vacationing in Jackson Hole, WY. Snow skiing for the New Year.
I called home to check my voice mail and got 2, 5 min. messages from something not human. Every person that I played the messages for (about 12) got chills and freaked out.
It sounded like an open mouth exhale followed by strange clicking sound. Definately animal not a machine breathing in (click, click, click) then exhaling as if it was pronouncing a long "h" sound. At one point it screemed a very erie sound as if it was in pain.
I played this very long message for our airport shuttle driver and he asked me to call him and leave a copy on his voice mail. He may still have it, but I no longer know who it was or his number. I do not believe this was a prank, for one I don't believe anyone or anything on this planet could make such a sound.
And second the message lasted the entire 5 min that my voice mail held, and then a second 5 min. A prankster wouldn't continue that long, without somekind of slip up sounding human. This was definately NOT human! It was consistant, but not repetitive.
The loud scream happened twice, each a little different, but both very erie. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that date of sighting is approximate. PD)).
