Bright Light High in sky moving north to south I am a computer programmer living in Houston. I was at my office off of Enclave Pkwy on the westside of Houston. It was dark and the time was about 6:30 pm.

The sky was clear and the temperature was about 60 degrees. I was standing outside waiting for my ride and I was looking up at the stars when I noticed a very bright white light very high in the sky moving north to south. I watched light move across the sky for about 10 seconds before it faded out.

Light was moving too slowly to be a meteor. I first observed light directly overhead and the light traversed approx. 45 degrees of sky in approx.

10 seconds before fading out. The size of the light was about the same as the surrounding stars.

Large Cylinder with six orange (low-glow) lights moving slowly within 3 miles of IAH, heading toward IAH (Airport) My Wife, Brother-in-law and myself had gotten together at our house to observe the Leonids together. After watching the "show" for awhile, my Brother-in-law went to a Whataburger (or similar establishment which is open at that hour) because he had an appetite. I'd seen enough and went inside - I was tired.

My Wife stayed outside, and several minutes later she came in the porch door asking me to come outside and see if I think this is part of the Leonids or not. She didn't say what her opinion was. I walked out, and she was pointing at it.

At first I was focusing so far out that I seemed to just focus right past it. Then she said pointed again, more deliberately. At that time I saw it.

At first it looked similar to some of the shots when that comet/meteor or whatever it was, broke up, in a line, then slammed one of our Planets a few years back. I then saw that this column of lights was not descending nor were any of the parts fading. Then I realized it wasn't a naturally ocurring event.

It is best described as a series of six (what must have been) large lights, orange in color with a brightness I can best describe as "Low-Glow". It was moving slowly and silently from the West when she first saw it, then by the time I got out there it had already begun South East. We both agree that there was a series of six lights.

She remembers round, but I remember them being that of an elipse. (Typical track and field) The lights all appeared to be spaced evenly front to back with the exception of the space in between the 3rd and 4th lights. There was space there, of a size which was appr.

that of the lights themselves. Within that area, we each recalled dim, seemingly intermittent lighter-colored and smaller lights. Like a dim,.

very dim sparkler. It was moving in such a way as to give the impression of an airliner in that, the lights were 1,2,3,4,5,6 all in a row with one being on the end it was travelling toward and on down the line, until one was at the trailing end. I must say,.

it certainly is! analogo us to a passenger craft, although no body or surrounding craft could be seen. The way things were laid out however, a quick description of the light layout and the direction of travel was "similar to the tubular design of a fuselage". As we both stood silently watching,.

it passed overhead at the appr. speed of a blimp,(no noise)with the look of a fuselage and the quietness of a bird. It was a starry night and no "structure" was observed.

We live within 3 - 4 miles of Houston Intercontinental Airport. I grew up around Eglin AFB and Pensacola NAS, spent 9 years in the Military, (4 USMC / 5 US ARMY SF) and am VERY familiar with military aircraft to include winning awards for same. "THIS WAS NO CONVENTIAL AIRCRAFT.

" It flew silently over us, appr 1,500 feet to our North, (right over a certain Chevrolet Dealer very near I-45 and 1960, for you locals). It is proving difficult to gauge the height since I do not know the size of the lights, although I'd say it was probably several hundred feet long. It did not appear to vary in altitude or speed.

The lights "seemed" to be large. It passed by us, heading toward the Airport, which is only 3 - 4 miles away (if that). Eventually, we lost sight of it due to light-pollution.

and our roof. I am mailing sketches drawn by each of us without collaboration. The only addition I have is that my Wife did say that when she initially saw it (before I did) it seemed to "move like a snake", in that it was travelling level, then seemed to hit a bump which it simply made a quick humping motion with each of the six lights doing the same thing at the same spot.

Like a centipede walking over a twig.

Travelling at great speed the entire event lasted only around ten seconds from the moment witnessed to the disappearance to the west. The visibilty was very clear. No clouds, cool night, no wind.

This is the first time I have ever reported this kind of event. What struck us both was the velocity with no sound. Just a single light.

No flashing red light or interupted white light.

A dark gray object traveling across the night sky. On 10/25/01 I was up late (1:30 AM). I decided to go out side before going to bed.

I was looking up at the sky, as usual, and I saw what I believe was a UFO. It didn't have any lights on it (that I could see) but I was still able to see it (very clearly) traveling across the sky, low to the horizon. It was kind of a dark gray in color.

It was traveling from east to west. It was oval in shape, and appeared to be traveling at about the same speed a plane would, flying at a low altitude. Yet it appeared to be high in the sky.

To get an idea of how big it was from my point of view, go out side, stretch your arm out and hold a "quarter" up to the sky, flat side facing you. That's approximately how big the UFO was against the night sky.

Sliver of light crashes in North Houston My wife and I were driving north on Bamel North Houston Road, about 4 miles south of FM 1960 in the Northern suburbs of Houston, about 5 miles SE of the Compaq Computer Campus. The time was 20:10 local, 01:10 Z. I was driving, my wife was in the passenger's seat.

The night was crystal clear and there were many planes in the landing pattern for Houston Intercontintal (IAH) which was about 7 miles to the due East. My wife observed the object 30 degrees above the horizon to the NNW first going level and then instantly changing course downward at a 30 degree angle until it disappeared at the tree line. I saw the object (apparently) after the course change, and it took a couple of seconds to go from an elevation of 30 degrees to the tree line.

My wife describes the object as a "yellow orange glowing object." My description is of a sliver, not bright, yellow orange, which was sort of pinched at either end. Frankly, it looked a little like the illuminated passenger cabin of an airliner.

However, at the angle and location in question, and considering the high speed of the object, it was not an airliner unless it crashed. I opened the sunroof and listened for sirens---nothing. As a VN veteran with many thousands of aircraft seen in the dark in the Tonkin Gulf, I understand strange stuff in the air at night.

This was not a plane unless it crashed just north of Houston tonight.

Rapidly moving silver cylinder crosses horizon of Houston A silver cylinder, possibly emitting a yellow and silver exhaust, appeared from the southeast, which would include the Gulf of Mexico, and flew at an extremely high rate of speed and disappeared over the horizon in the north northwest. Its course was parabolic and though its height was difficult to judge at night, it did not seem to be over six thousand feet up. It bore no resemblance to any aircraft, meteor or satelite that I had ever seen.

I was on the porch of my house, which faces north, and looked up because I heard a strange muttering noise in the sky over the noise of the Saurday night traffic in West Houston. I yelled when I saw it and my daughter camr running out, but the object had already disappeared over the horizon, far faster than any helicopter could do it. The terrain is very flat down here and one can see quite a long way.

My initial reaction was that it was a cruise missile, because it fit that profile. There were no news reports that I could find of this event the next day.

Saturday night was a clear, full-moon and silent night after a wave of rainy clouds passed the West side of Houston, Texas. My wife and I were visiting my brother who lives in the Alief area. Soon we headed to the car that was parked right outside the garage, my wife yelled, What's that!! She was looking South pointing at a white bright light coming toward our direction at tremendous speed.

My wife and I along with my brother and his wife just wateched the ligh come above us, there was no sound whatsoever. The light did couple of nice manuvers then headed toward north, did couple of circles and then vanished. While I was looking at it, I noticed it was apox 100 meters high.

I believe it was a probe and not a space ship. It was a breath taking experience.

Moving bright red light becomes motionless, releases short burst of silvery filaments, then slowly disappears, straight up in the sky. I stepped out onto my back patio, to smoke a cigarette at 12:05am on the morning of July 5. I had looked at the clock, because I was waiting for my wife to return from the airport.

I immediately noticed a red light, moving generally from west to east. It was bright enough that I initially thought it was a low flying, small plane. I thought it would turn, at some point and I would see a blue or white light.

When I did not, I continued to watch it move in the direction of my house. Then, it slowed and seemed to make a very tight semi-circular turn, then stopped, and became motionless. At this point, I thought it must be a helicopter, but I continued to watch it.

It gradually became a smaller red light, like it was moving straight up. Then it seemed to stop again. It appeared to be slowly spinning now, because about every 20 seconds, it seemed to have a dark band, running vertically.

I continued to watch it (by now about 15 minutes had elapsed), I saw what looked like a short burst of silvery threads below it (about 2 inches proportionately in the sky ). At this point, it had the appearance of a red star, in the sky, vs the earlier appearance of a low flying plane. It then slowly disappeared, as if it was moving straight up.

The sky was clear that night, with no small moving clouds, in the area. I have been thinking about what I saw, since that morning and decided to search the internet, for a place to report it. I noticed 2 other reports, very similar to my own, so I now know that I was not alone, in viewing this object.

I am a affluent, professional, business man, rational, and not under the influence of drugs. Once I foud your web site and read the other 2 sightings of the same object, I almost did not report it. Then I decided I should, since one more description might help in determining what he obect was.

Houston, Texas - Red pulsating light which "dropped" another light; disappeared in the sky I spotted a bright red light to the left of a star in the clear sky. I dismissed it as a plane since it did not move in relation to the star within 5 minutes. Another red light "dropped" from the light approximately 1 inch below the primary light and then disappeared.

The primary light moved to the right slowly during a 5 minute period. I grabbed my video camera and tripod hoping that the zoom feature may shed some light on what was causing this bright red light. During the next 10 minutes, I observed the light "pulsating"- growing brighter like a light on top of a tower to almost disappearing in the clear sky then brighter again.

The light then gradually moved up above the neighboring star (during several minutes) and then stayed still. The light would dim to almost nothing then appear again. Eventually, after 45 minutes, the light disappeared.

Please note that the sky was clear, no clouds or wind, no rain, and the neighboring star remained constant and visible during the observation dismissing the possibility of clouds interfering with the brightness of the light. I am a college educated, drug-free, teacher who has never seen anything like this before. My husband is also drug-free ( I feel I must include that one) and very sane as well.

We are VERY normal and extremely skeptical at the possibility of this being a UFO, but of course, I have no other explantation. I have been thinking about this for 2 hours now and am writing this at 1:52 a.m.

the same night.

Low flying shape shifting light sphere spotted by commuters 3 days in a row My uncle spotted a light that appeared over Houston in the early hours. It was round and bright but too low to be a star and seemed to be following the highway. It was no chopper or plane becaused it was sphere shaped.

The following day it appeared again and spotted by several people at the park and ride. The following day expecting another sighting of the sphere my uncle grabbed his binoculars to get a close up view. What he saw was bright orb surrounded by a outer layer of of some sort like the way and ameoba looks under a microscope.

As hit traveled down the highway the outer layers moved around like water ripples. I don't know if this is extraterrestial or not but it is defitely wierd I am going to check it out and see it for my self as it has been spotted four days already by several people. Im going to take a digital camera to get some shots.

Only problem is it is only seen like at 4:30 in the moring and its hard for me to wake up that early even for a ufo spotting and with my luck I will show up with a digital and the sphere will not appear that day.more to come hopefully.

It moved smoothly and initially I assumed it was something falling. The time of 22:30 is approximate.

((NUFORC Note: We are suspicious of the planet, Venus, in this instance. We will attempt to get more information, or other reports. PD)) Diamond Shaped UFO in Houston I looked outside my kitchen window as I heard the neighbors dogs barking I decided to go outside to take a look I noticed an extremely large white bright light in the western sky positioned south east of the crescent moon.

I looked to the sky to compare the many other stars on this clear night and this was about ten times the size of star and appeared to have the shape of a diamond. From my driveway the light or object was not blinking nor did it have any color distortion and seemed to be close in vicinity of my home. The moon was low and the object in perspective was seemingly above a rooftop.

I wanted to verify if it had any movement so I gauged it next to a tree limb. It moved up and down slightly within seconds when I had it positioned in the tree. I jumped into my car, driving from Kirby and Westpark at 35 mph and chased it going west towards Newcastle & Westpark.

It seemed to be unusually dark in this area of the overpass at Westpark & Kirby (near the midsize electricity plant). It was larger than I previously thought and it seemed to move quite fast in front and away from me going west. At one point I thought I would lose it so I sped up eventually driving around 60 mph passing red lights.

On Westpark underneath the 59 overpass I noticed a helicopter flying low coming from the south, going north, the light then dimmed, became hazy and barely visible when the helicopter passed. I pulled into a parking lot on Rice Street and Westpark, to observe the object. Once the low flying, low speed helicopter passed that area, the object dimmed and suddenly disappeared, I assumed it traveled at high rate of speed heading west which made it impossible to see.

This occurred less than a half mile from my home. Upon arriving home the object was no longer in the sky near the tree branch where I had first had seen it. Keeping track of time the entire event took less than 10 minutes.
