I am a "Line Servicer" for a large power conpany with 30 yrs. of service. While investigating an outage, ( unrelated to UFO activity), I observed an orange light in the sky to the northwest of me.

There was no flashing light on it, as all aircraft are supposed to use at night. I was in my truck, and got my 10X binoculars for a better look. The object had a dull, orange light on the bottom of the "front", and 3 brightly lit "windows" toward me.

The brightness of the lights made it impossible to see a sharp outline. Object was moving slower than a light plane would fly. It was very clear weather, with temperatures in the mid-teens.

I left my truck's engine running, so I heard no sound. Object went behind a hill and I did not see it again. After I got home, I looked the area up on a large-scale map, and found that the object was at least 3 1/2 miles from me.

I feel that it was at least as big as an airliner.

Bright light (no meteor) crossed the sky from horizon to horizon in less than one minute. My husband and I were out on the deck looking at the sky, when a very bright light (no tail--was not a meteor, comet or a regular aircraft), crossed the sky over us from horizon to horizon in less than a minute. No way any man-made craft could travel that fast.

Even my husband (a devout skeptic) agreed that we had seen something not of normal earth-bound creation. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

One floatint object overhead and 17 disk shaped objects going into it. What I saw happpened about two years ago. I am a truckdriver and I was relaxing with my head out the window of my truck and I saw a white object streaking toward, how can I discribe this, let me see, an object in the sky that looked like hole with a white halo around it.

The best that I can make of it was that the lights was on the top of it and the light rays were reflecting off the top of the object back into space creating a halo so to speak. Anyway, I counted a total of 17 of these objects fly into it (the halo) and dissapear. I took it they landed on the top.

That is what I observed. I know that their is not a ship of ours up there or an orbiting platform of any kind that we have to my knowlege.

Six globe-like lights in a semi-circular (stationary) formation. I was driving along a ridgeline with my 2 daughters. Suddenly, my older daughter and I observed 6 brilliant, globe-like lights in a (stationary) semi-circular formation.

The formation was several miles away, above the mountains. You could have blocked it out holding up three fingers. There was an open space on the lower right hand side of the formation.

Three seconds, and it was gone. I would calculate from a distance, that the formation was the size of a Ferris Wheel. Considering that this was in a rural setting, there is nothing that would cause this type of visual effect.

Strange as it was, I felt the event important enough to report.

Triangular Shaped Object Seen on U.S. Rt.

50 This happened quite a few years ago, but I remember the details perfectly. My girlfriend and I were traveling on US Rt. 50 heading east from Parkersburg to Clarksburg.

We were passing through (around) Salem when I noticed a large triangular-shaped object in the sky just above the horizon. At first I thought it was an oil-rig on top of the ridge (a common sighting in WV), or a cell phone tower, but I had made that particular drive hundreds of times and felt as if something was unusual, so I dismissed both of those notions. I woke my girlfriend and asked her if she recognized the object in front of us; she didn't.

The object was vertical, at first, with bright red lights in each corner. Immediately after waking my girlfriend an extremely bright white light came on in the middle of the object, seemed to make a sweeping motion, and eventually "highlighted" us for a brief period of time. This made both of us nervous, but not particularly scared.

I had to look down at the road and when I looked back up it was floating horizontally above us. When I looked down at the road again and back up it had disappeared. The object never seemed to move while I was looking at it, nor did it make any sounds.

I originally thought it was a helicopter but dimissed the notion when I realized it had to have been within 100ft. of us and not making any sound whatsoever. Both my girlfriend and I were fascinated with the unusual sighting and had thought about calling the regional airport in Clarksburg to see if there were any aircraft in the area at the time.

We never did and never really talked about it the remainder of the time we dated. I probably wouldn't have really thought about it much more until I watched a UFO special on TV sometime in 2001. They were discussing a case and had an artist's rendering and animation of the exact same object that I had seen.

Since then I've told the story to some people, always siting what I saw on the television special. ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD)).

Colorful Objects in Night Sky over Shady Spring, WV. Observing the night sky around 9 PM, notice a solid white light traveling across the sky from southeast (Hinton, WV) to northwest (Beckley, WV) direction. Similar to airplane movement but no blinking lights, just one solid emission.

Object slows and eventually fades out. Keep looking for a few more minutes, nothing happens. Then, what we think is a regular star suddenly emits three incredible pulses (flashes) of light and disappears.

Keep watching sky, not noticing anything for about 5-10 minutes. Suddenly notice a bright twinkling light further on over the tree line in the distance (toward Beckley). At first looks like a bright planet but notice slight movement.

Staying mostly still, it hovers a great number of feet in perfectly vertical direction up and down or shoots with incredible speed from side to side. Obviously not man-made aircraft, at least one the public does not know about. Observing object through binoculars, notice there seems to be no definite shape and a multitude of colorful lights is constantly revolving or moving around the object.

After another 10 minutes or so, notice a group of smaller lighted objects moving below the main object just above the tree line, hovering above, in and through the tree tops. At all times there are at least 3 to 4 airplanes in the sky. As soon as one passes over the tree line another appears, obviously coming from the nearby airport (Raleigh County Airport).

After a while notice second object to the East with similar colorful emissions after a few minutes also emitting smaller lighted objects in the tree tops. By this time the airplanes begin flying under and around unknown aircraft repeatedly, passing very close. It is odd to see so many airplanes in the night sky over West Virginia.

Usually you may see one or two, I counted anywhere from 10-20 or airlpanes over the course of just an hour. After 45 minutes to an hour, notice yet another object to the southeast (toward Hinton) same appearance and mannerisms as first two objects. Take girlfriend home and leave for Parkersburg, she calls about 20 minutes later to tell me the latter object is hovering over the graveyard beside her house.

All observers are normal hard-working people. We are all pretty open-minded. Two are married with a child and second on the way.

I'm 25 years old and nothing like this has ever happened to me. I am very fascinated, intrigued and just a little scared, but most of all curious. I hope I get the chance to witness something like this again someday.

white square object moving very fast This thing was unlike anything I have ever seen. Instead of the disk shape and metalic color I'm used to seeing this thing was square and white. I tried to watch it for changes but my husband couldn't get off of the road fast enough and it shot through the sky so fast it was gone by the time we got pulled over to the shoulder.

When I first caught a glimps of it I thought it to be a bird but then I realized it was a totally square object and I thought; Oh my gosh! this isn't a bird, and what bird can fly as fast as a jet; which happened to be about the same height as it was. It was traveling across the area of the jet and went through the jet stream just after the jet passed. But then it shot away so fast it was gone.

Horizontal bar of single blue and red lights in the southern sky with lights appearing to be about the size of large stars On both March 11 at 5:30 AM and on March 13 at 1:30 AM, I saw what looked like a very bright bar (or single line) of lights or stars in the southern sky. On March 11, it was in the south east, on the 14th, it was almost due south (my house faces directly solar south, and it was slightly to the west). The row of lights was about the length of a quarter of the circumference of the moon, but they were placed vertically with blue at the top and bottom and red in the middle and were about the size of very large, very bright stars.

It was impossible to tell if it was a line of stars or lights or a continuous bar of color, but it looked more like 3 stars - blue, red, blue. The night was mostly clear on the 13th, but the lower part of the horizon was slightly overcast. The moon was apparently already down in the west, because my first impression was that it was probably a reflection on the moon.

Then I realized that it was definitely not the moon, and the moon wasn't visible. On the 13th (at 1:30 AM), the sky was very overcast with no stars. The moon was visible behind the clouds, and the night was bright in spite of the clouds.

The object was very bright and appeared to be among rather than behind the clouds. I watched it for about 10 minutes each time; the first time, I went inside because it didn't seem to be doing anything and I assumed it was simply some brightly colored stars. But on the 13th, I watched until it seemed to be covered by the clouds and disappeared.

It did not move at all except for appearing at different places in the sky on the two different nights (or early mornings). It almost looked like airplane lights, but the line of lights was straight up and down and it didn't move closer or further away or change position. In addition, there was a slight sound that seemed to be almost like an airplane engine.

However, I can hear the interstate from my house, and I couldn't discern whether or not it was cars on the interstate or if it was coming from the lights. I don't know what it was, but I am absolutely sure it was not a plane, a radio tower, the moon, or any star or planet configuration I've ever seen before. One of the weird things was that I saw it more to the east at 5:30 and more to the west at 1:30.

Another strange thing was that it appeared to be closer than some of the clouds, appearing below them, but was covered by lower lying clouds, although it may just be that there was simply a break in the clouds on both nights that permitted viewing.

Vertical line of three blue and red lights about three or four times the size of stars or planets well above the southern horizon. (I wrote about this last week, but apparently did not enter the state correctly because it did not appear in the desciption I saw after I posted. Also, when I entered my summary, I put "horizontal" instead of "vertical" to describe the lights.

) On both March 11 at 5:30 AM and on March 13 at 1:00 AM, I saw lights in the southern sky that appeared to be at a far distance. The lights were in a vertical line and appeared to be blue, red, and blue. I watched both nights for about 10 minutes.

On the 11th, the configuration was in the south east, and on the 13th it was almost due south - perhaps slightly to the west. The sky was overcast in the southern area on the 11th and totally overcast on the 13th, but on both nights I was able to see the lights very distinctly. They appeared to be at least three or four times as large as most stars and larger than any planets I've seen including Venus or Mars.

The closest description I can think of is airplane lights, but they did not move and they were in a vertical line. Because I can hear the interstate highway from my home, I couldn't tell if there was a sound coming from the lights, but it seemed that there was the same kind of humming sound I've heard airplanes make at a high altitude. I've never seen a satellite from earth, so it is possible that my sighting was of a satellite.

I have attempted to find photographs of satellites on the internet, but have not been able to find anything that looks like what I saw. The lights did not blink or move at all in the time I watched. Although I assume a satellite would be above the clouds, and it was a cloudy night, it may be that there was a break in the cloud cover.

Eventually on the 13th, the clouds did move and cover the object.

A brightly lighted, fast moving, triangular object. I am currently trying to build my own house on a remote piece of property that borders Wayne county. Due to it's remote location and the high number of heavy and/or expensive tools on the site I have been camping out on the house site.

11:52 PM on the 11th day of the 1st month of 2006 I went outside to see why my dog was whining and to smoke a cigarette. Then I noticed a bright shimmering light above the next ridge. I found this to be strange because I look at that ridge on a consistent basis and there has never been anything over there.

As I watched it the light began growing slightly larger and pulsating, inbetween pulsations a red light would appear. I got another smoke and continued watching, after a couple minutes it started to rise straight upwards. Then it started to come towards me, all I could do was smoke and watch in astonishment as this thing came straight at me.

The craft started to gain shape as it got closer, I could tell it was triangular in shape and it had one extremely bright white light on the front and a pulsating red light underneath. It gained speed as it got closer and passed a regular jet in a couple of seconds. As it passed overhead I could tell it was huge, dwarfing any regular jet in the sky.

It passed by without making a sound and within a few more seconds it was gone. The hairs on my neck would not go down and I had to have several more smokes before I could calm down and go to bed. Then on this morning of the 12th I got on your website and see a drawn picture of exactly what I saw last night.

Trust me when I say my hairs are on end again.

cigar shaped object disappeared in the sky Clear sky, driving north on u.s. route 19.

I was in front and in the passenger seat. I spotted an object with 2 lights in the sky, it kept my attention because I couldn't figure out what it was because the shape didn't look like a helicopter or an airlplane. The other people in the vehicle was looking at it.

After we was looking at it for a few seconds trying to figure out what it was, a flash of light came out behind it and then it and then the whole thing dissapeared, no smoke. It wasn't the time of flash that looked like a fire anyway. Nothing fell down either.

We don't believe in UFO's but this has made us wonder that there was something definitely not right.
