Update on bright flare. Update: I did a bit of internet sleuthing after reporting the bright flash in the sky I witnessed the other morning. Apparently what I saw was the Iridium 54 satellite, which was scheduled to be over my location here in Fargo, ND at 05:12:09 on the date I had my sighting - Saturday, 19 August 2006.
As I mentioned in my initial report, the flash of light I saw was almost alarmingly bright, and the chart I found on the website pegged Iridium 54 at a brightness magnitude of -7 on the logarithmic scale that measures light intensity. I'm assuming that the bright flare I saw a week or two back was the same object.

Very bright object flares even brighter. I arrived home from work early this morning, and as is my habit looked up at the sky after exiting my vehicle. I love to look at the night sky, and this morning the sky was unusually clear and crisp.
The *dark* side of the moon reflecting the "bounce light" of the earth was plainly evident - an astronomical phenomenon that until recent years was fairly rare, even here in the relatively unsullied skies of North Dakota - but now for some reason it is a very common sight. (Something very odd going on in that department!) Anyway, almost as soon as I looked up and almost directly overhead, I saw what I at first thought was a very bright planet - until, that is, I realized it was moving quite slowly on a roughly north to south trajectory. And very quickly after that realization the object swiftly flared brighter and brighter until I became rather alarmed - I would estimate its lumens quadrupled - and then suddenly its intensity dropped off as though somebody had thrown a switch, but it was actually still faintly visible via peripheral vision.
In other words to still see it after it flared out, I had to look slightly to the side of its trajectory. I'm thinking it was a satellite of some sort reflecting the predawn sun as it rolled in orbit - it seemed to be at satellite height - but at the same time it seemed to move too slowly to fall into that category. The brightness of the object when it flared was astonishing.
This is the second time I've seen this object (or something similar) flaring overhead. About two weeks ago, I witnessed pretty much the same event, only I believe it was a couple hours earlier in the am, and both times the event occured almost as soon as I'd looked up into the sky! Talk about coincidence… ((NUFORC Note: Probable sighting or Iridium 54. Please see data below from www.

Awakened by a glow of bright light I was transformed to a fufilled man I was awakened by a bright light shining through my bedroom window. I rose from bed put on a robe and proceeded outside. I walked to the south side of my house and down a steep embankment.
There was a glow in the shape of a man. He proceeded to direct me to follow the teaching of the tablets. When I inquired as to his meaning of tablets, he directed my gaze to an object on my right.
It was a stone tablet with the engraved commandments of the Lord glowing bright green. The next thing I remember was waking to the morning sun. There was a sense of relief and an awareness of tranquility around me.
I arose from the wet grass and strolled back to my home. Since that day life has been filled with grace and peace. I’ve given much to charity and received 10 fold in return ((NUFORC Note: Witness indicates that the date of the incident is approximate.

Driving at night, saw a blue light, all electronics suddenly shut off Conditions: clear night sky, dark, no weather. I was driving eastbound on 1804, east of Buford, heading towards Williston. I was driving a 1998 Lincoln (great condition) and had 3 children with me, 2 of whom were sleeping.
My oldest child (12 yr old) was awake and recalls the event as well. With peripheral vision, I noticed a bright blue light traveling above the tree line, about a mile away, at the exact speed we were traveling (65 mph). This took place over about 30 - 40 seconds, until I recall turning my head to get a better look (by now I had ruled out almost everything else that could be doing this).
I can remember gazing at the light briefly (it was definitely above the tree line, and there was sky noted between it and the earth, with nothing holding it up) before EVERYTHING 'electrical' in my car shut off briefly before returning to function as though it never happened. I'm talking headlights, every dash light, stereo, cell phones, hand held video games, MP3 player.everything.
I don't recall the engine ever sputtering. Afterwards, I noticed that the light was no longer following us. I was so calm, almost as though it were no big deal; I'm the type of person whose heart usually stops beating at any driving 'close call'.
Talking with my son later, he said it was almost dream like in recollection (he normally has impeccable recall). I also recall getting to our destination later than expected and wondering why. (This doesn't need to be included with the report, but it is interesting) Almost 10 years later, an MRI of my brain showed a perfectly square abnormality that only appeared in one imaging slice, which means that it was extremely thin.
Neurologist said he'd never seen anything like it and joked about it being an alien implant.).

Small blue light traveling quickly across the sky. A small blue circle moved quickly across the sky. It happened about 11 pm so it was against the dark sky heading northwest from where I was at.

UFO looked black and moved very slow with no lights and was circular It was all black, and circular, a small circle in the middle and a larger circle around tha the smaller circle. Sounded like that hovering vehicle off the movie The Matrix. I heard it before it flew over but heard nothing after it flew over and watched it for a few seconds.
It did not fly off fast or nothing but just creeped over the entire block, what was weird to me was that it was black like night not like all the other sightings ive seen on TV with lights and white or gray. The sky turned green and electricity went haywire! The sky lit up all around, like daylight. Unlike daylight, it shone mint green. Other observers from a 60 mile radius reported the same thing on a radio station.
Apparently alarm clocks quit working, but microwaves and other appliances stayed on. At least 3 other radio stations in the area were knocked off the air. ((NUFORC Note: We would welcome other detailed reports about this incident.
