Unknown Light over Austin, TX I was out in my driveway talking to my girlfriend on the cell phone when I happened to see a star move from the East heading toward the West. At first I thought it might have been an airplane since aircraft do fly along that route on final approach to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. This however just appeared like a star.
I never blinked or changed color. After about 1 minute of viewing it stopped and remained stationary for about 2 minutes before proceeding on a N-NW heading. After about 20 seconds of that heading it changed and started heading SW coming to a stop again after about 15 seconds.
It remained in position for about 2 minutes before heading W again. I then saw it stop and hold position for about 3-5 minutes. During this time, the clouds began to move into the area and altough they covered the stars, they only obscured the object.
I believe it was either bright enough to be visible through the clouds or may have been in the clouds. I saw it proceed to head W again through the faint bit of light in the clouds and finally lost it after another couple minutes. I did not hear any sounds, witness any other lights or aircraft in the area.
The next aircraft to fly in the vicinity did not arrive until about 20 minutes after I last saw the object. I also was unable to get the object on my camera phone because it blended into the stars too well.

White quickly moving light swept across our backyard. My wife and I were watching television and for some reason both of us were drawn to a window that opens next to the television. We saw a white light shining in between our home and the home in back of us.
The immediate impression was of a solid light and then movement to the right. The light swept (you could see the movement) to the west-northwest across our backyard at very rapid speed. It moved quickly, but not as if it were a flashlight.
There was no sound at all. We both reacted immediately with "Did you see that light?" I then got up went outside but could see nothing. There were no helicopters or other aircraft in the area.
There were no neighbors outside in the adjoining backyards. The waxing moon was out, with a few small fast moving cumulus clouds in the area. It is doubtful that it was a reflection from a car or anything similar because under equal circumstances (time of day, amount of sunlight etc.
) we have never seen anything like this. We are both sure that the source of the light was above the trees but it was impossible to say how high. The time is accurate because I looked at my watch immdediately when I got up to go outside.
The light was definitely unusual in nature. We would be very interested in knowing if there were other reports in the area.

This object hovered, moved up/down/left/right changed into four different colors, and we heard a faint noise This object was brighter than any of the stars in the sky and hovered from left to right at the same altitude while changing colors at the same time. This went on for at least an hour and then started moving in all directions, up down, left, right.it also disappeared at some points, like a light switch, on and off.
The colors faded out between blue, red, green, yellow! We did here a sound, we think it was most likely related.

rectangular arrangement of white lights head North . Spacing between lights did not change Although it was in our sight only a few seconds due to passing over the big tree in the back yard, we both agree on what we saw even though we have no idea what it was. What we saw was four white lights arranged in a rectangular pattern: two in front and two bringing up the rear.
It was going pretty fast, although a low flying airliner could have been going that fast. The length could have been consistent with an airliner. However, there were no flashing lights.
No red, no green, no flashing white. There also was no sound that we could hear above normal traffic noise from I-35 a mile away. Had I more presence of mind, perhaps I would have jumped up and ran further toward the back of the yard to keep it in sight a little longer.
Not hearing it, I sort of expected the sound to catch up, but it didn't.???.

Triangle Formation Spotted over Austin TX AT 2:29 am on June 11, 2006, my friend and I spotted 3 distincts red lights descending over the Austin area known as HYde park. My friend assumed that they were flares, but I pointed out that they didn't behave like flares. The lights kept a distinct triangular formation and did not light up the sky as flares are apt to do.
They continued to descend until they were level with the horizon and fading out of our viewing range.

I saw an intense light formation in the sky at 1a.m. in Austin, Tx.
, which stood still for a while, rose vertically, then vanished I was outside at 1 a.m. this morning, in Austin, Tx.
, when the sighting occurred. I was looking off of my balcony, over the Lake Travis, and directly facing the 360 bridge. Out of nowhere, a very intense white beaming light appeared in the sky, and was motionless for about 30-60 seconds.
There was just one formation. It looked at least 5-10 times larger than a bright, twinkling star. I walked inside, scared, as I had never seen anything like it before, and looked through the window.
Almost immediately after I got inside, it began to rise vertically. This went on for approximately 10-15 seconds, and then it disappeared quite instantly. There were no noises that accompanied it.

White cigar shaped object hangs over Austin Tx then disapears in a flash of white light We saw a strange white object in the the clear blue sky. It was large and cigar shaped just hanging in the air. It did not seem to be moving at all so I pointed it out and asked "What is that?" Then, all of a sudden, a very bright white light started in the center of it and got brighter and brighter then it was gone.
In the blink of an eye gone. We did not see it go left, right, up, or down it was just gone.

Floating "Veil" Austin, TX Was in backyard with dog, happened to look up and saw what I can only describe as a very large, long semi-transparent "veil" moving acrooss the sky, heading in a generally northward direction. The movement of the "veil" was very smooth, flowing, and somewhat ripple-like. I did not hear any sound, although it was close enough that if it had made any type of noise within human range, I would have heard it clearly.
It also did not seem to be illuminated; the sky was light enough to see it moderately well (there are many streetlights and the moon was out as well). It was difficult to determine how high up it was - I was simply so shocked to see it and also was trying to determine just what I was seeing that I can't even guess. It "flew" over the roof of the middle school that is approximately 20 yards from my backyard (north of my backyard; the yard faces east).
As the "veil" moved across the sky toward the school, my dog started barking and ran to the north side of the fence with ears and tail up, but she was looking toward the school rather than up at the object. The neighbor dogs also started barking at that time. I then went back into the house, out the front door & looked down the street (runs north, past the school) but saw nothing at that time.
Decided I needed to tell someone, so called my sister. While chatting, about 10 mins later, a "cop" car drives slowly down the street in front of the house. I use italics because by the time I got the front door opened & turned the porch light out so I could see, the car had reached the end of the block (also an intersection for a street that runs east/west.
The school sits at that intersection, as well), and I could only see that the shape and size resembled a police car. It did have lights across the top, but they were white. Interestingly, another similar car was waiting at the intersection.
After a short pause, they both continued on the north-running street, shining spotlights on the outside of the school. They continued north on the street. I went back into the house (still on the phone, telling my sister the events as they transpired), then again to the backyard.
After another 10 minutes or so, an airplane flew over the school, fairly low and slow. It did not fly north, but rather toward the east and then south. Thanks, and would be curious to know if others saw anything like this that night.
