4 orange triangles with many white lights that followed At approximately 9:30pm we were sitting, as a family, on the porch overlooking the ocean. I looked up to see in the clear night sky, just overtop of the adjacent ocean front home, a single triangle shaped, light orange object a few hundred yards away. It was alone briefly before being joined by another, then another and so on until there were 4.
My wife and 2 adult sons then saw the objects. Then they “disappeared” without any discernible sound (although the waves were fairly loud). While we were debating what we saw my son noticed that just off shore there was an amazing spectacle taking place with what appeared to be many separate white lights twinkling off and on- back and forth with other groups.
Above them appeared to be either a solid, very large triangular object or perhaps some that were in a triangle formation. This continued for some time in the southern sky while a cargo ship was not too far away ( for perspective on the distance from shore- the objects were about as far out as the ship which was just to the east) and what appears to be commercial airline flights which allowed us to estimate the objects were now at around 3-4K ft. As the display continued we could hear what we knew was a military jet coming from the east up the beach towards us.
The jet came by just overhead and slightly off shore at a little higher altitude than the objects which were flashing white rapidly among each other and underneath the triangle object. The jet stayed ! straight following the beach and did not attempt to fly towards or engage - or not that we could tell. Then abruptly- it ended and they were gone.
My oldest son and I walked onto the beach in hopes of seeing more and at around 10pm the 4 orange colored craft reappeared several hundred yards off shore at what appeared to be 1,000 feet or so above the surface. They “glowed” in unison for a brief moment and then they were gone. We are all professional people.
Don’t subscribe to belief in space aliens etc. We took video and when we zoom in it appears at least one craft resembles the “tic tac” shaped object we have seen on the news. We heard no sound aside from the jet.
The objects movement in the sky was erratic at times and at other times it moved precisely and smoothly and slowly. This is the truth as we experienced it. We are considering video and drawing images of what was seen.
The incident took place at West Beach Dr and 23rd St Oak Island NC. The craft were in the southern sky at approximately 227 degrees SW.

Yellow light moving north over Oak Island NC Yellow light moved from south to north and disappeared. As it passed the light turned red and faded out. It was brighter than a star or planet.
It looked similar to landing light but no flashing wing lights were seen and I could hear no noise. Object appeared relatively low and certainly under 5000 feet. It kept on a straight path.
Anyone else see this?.

Bright lights appeared off the coast, multiplied, disappeared, and a single light reappeared and vanished again. We were driving down Beach Dr near 46th St SE when a set of white-red lights appeared off the coast, roughly 10,000 ft and several miles from the shoreline. Initially there were three lights, but as two of the lights got closer together they became 4.
One light stayed alone to the East. Then the five lights came together and disappeared. Roughly 3 seconds later, a larger light appeared and then disappeared as quickly as it came.
They never reappeared.

3 fireballs or flare like lights above the ocean that quickly disappeared. I was staying with family this week at the beach on oak island. I was out in front of thte beach house around 9:15 and saw three flare like lights to the Southwest (myrtle beach direction) but probably 10,000+ feet high.
#1, then #2, then #3 appeared within a few seconds in a triangle formation then they disappeared very fast. I’d say they could be flares but does the military typically drop flares off the coast this far from a base? They didn’t last long like flares either. It was very quick.
Literally right when I saw them they disappeared after 3 seconds. Also heard no aircraft of any kind at all.

At approximately 7:00p.m, I thought I saw a strange light in the sky over the ocean through my window. I grabbed my glasses and went out onto our porch, which faces the ocean to the south.
Whatever light I had seen was no longer visible but I noticed some small white lights blinking very fast and moving at what appeared to be extreme rates of speed. The lights would sometimes appear to be chasing each other and other times seemed to be moving in unison. I knocked on the window and my husband came outside and watched with me.
We saw as many as ten of these lights at any given time and they would sometimes blink, sometimes the light would be steady and then they would just disappear. The ocean was very calm and we would have been able to hear jet sounds, but there were none. After a few minutes of this, we saw a very bright orange light appear, which hovered for several seconds before disappearing.
This happened about 3 more times, all the while the white lights were continuing to blink and jump around. We then heard a loud rumble like a fighter jet and after that that it was quiet again and all the lights seemed to cease. This event lasted about 15 minutes.
We went back inside, but after about 10 minutes I went back out to look again. I began seeing the blinking white lights again, and occasionally heard the jet sounds. My husband came back out and again we saw the orange lights only this time multiple appeared at one time and one of them split into about six lights in a straight line at an angle.
This happened two more times, after which the white lights had moved further away and to the west before disappearing altogether. This second event lasted about 10 minutes. I would like to note that we have seen this same phenomenon, or parts of it, on several occasions from this same location.
I would really like to know what it is we’re seeing.

Mostly orange-red circular objects appeared in southern sky over ocean near Oak Island, NC Seven red-orange circles appeared in the sky about 15-20 degrees above the horizon in southern direction over the ocean off of Oak Island, NC. These objects appeared first as 4 circles at 8:34 PM then others (or some of the same) again at 8:47 PM. The objects appeared rapidly out of nowhere and then disappeared within 5 seconds.
The circles all appeared each as a large filled in circle of red-orange color. They all seemed to appear and disappear in the same general area (but not exactly the same)of the sky. At one point two were side by side before disappearing.
They all seemed to disappear by collapsing into themselves. The two that were side-by-side appeared to have a halo around them. All circles were filled in with the same color and appeared to be large.

Mostly orange-red circular objects appeared in southern sky over ocean near Oak Island, NC. Between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM off of Oak Island, NC, in the southern sky at about 15-20 degrees we saw red-orange objects appear in the sky. They would suddenly appear then disappear in a duration of seconds.
They appeared to jump or dance in sky. Stars and planets were visible at the time and it was quite evident the color and larger shapes of these circular objects was different from all other objects in the sky. The objects were mostly orange with a red tint and would appear and disappear within seconds.
No types of flare trails or tails were part of the event. Some would blink and others appeared to cave in upon themselves.

6 red-orange lights moving in pairs, not flares or otherwise propelled We witnessed 3 pair of 2 bright red-orange lights over the ocean. They seemed to move in pairs. They didn't move up or down as if propelled or as if a rocket of some sort.
The paired lights seemed to move around each other. After approximately 30 seconds the lights disappeared suddenly. We then thought we saw a light far off shore that was also the same color which could have been a boat but it was dark and all we saw was the light.
There wet four of us who witnessed this event and all agreed that they were not airplanes. We also agreed that we had never seen anything like this before. We are four adults vacationing with our kids and quite sane!.

Red-orange circular objects seen in southern sky over ocean off of Oak Island, NC On April 20, 2016, from about 8:30 PM to about 9:15 PM, we saw at least ten red-orange colored circle shaped objects appear at about 15 or 20 degrees over the ocean horizon in the southern direction. The circles would suddenly appear (sometimes one at a time)and then quickly disappear. It was almost impossible to ascertain if it was moving or another one lighting up.
Several times more than 5 appeared rather far apart in space yet, short in lighted time duration. Some of the circles quickly flickered while others appeared stationary and simply faded away. It was obvious they were not flares since there were no tails or trails of any sort and the circle had crisp and distinct edges.
The event went on and off for about 30 - 45 minutes. The sky was starlight and an almost full moon was about 35 degrees above horizon in the eastern direction of the sky. Some planets were also visible.
It was quite obvious the color and size was much, much different than any of tho! se. When the circles disappeared they seemed to cave in upon themselves at times. Other times they disappeared quickly.
The events ended as quickly as they started. After events an aircraft appeared to be returning from the general area. This aircraft was viewed for a long time and had mostly red lights un-like all other aircraft in the sky.

Brightly lit, multi-light object flying in erratic pattern near seashore at Oak Island, NC While sitting on the seashore-facing deck of the beach house where I was vacationing, I saw a group of lights that all appeared to be attached to the same craft, though the craft itself wasn't visible, flying in a very erratic, "humming bird" kind of pattern. There were two red lights that were constantly on, in addition to a pulsating white light that appeared to be almost like a landing or search light, accompanied by a series of blue, violet and green lights that pulsed intermittently. It was completely silent, very bright and would hover at times while following a very erratic, non-linear flight path.
It zigged and zagged and eventually flew off after a few minutes. I thought it may have been a drone, but it was absolutely silent and, while it was hard to estimate the size, probably too large to be a drone. At least not like the size of the drones that I've seen for sale to the general public.
I'm curious to know if other people witnessed what I saw. I'm a photographer; the other witnesses were a salesman, nurse and doctor of psychology.

orange lights in linear formation June 26, 2014 about 10 PM, my son and I were sitting on the balcony at Oak Island, looking out at the ship lights on the horizon waiting to get into The Cape Fear River. We saw an orange light appear. And then 3 more beside that one.
S o a total of four lights spaced out horizontally. Then they went out. Then the same thing occurred.
I googled UFO sightings, Oak Island and found this site and learned this has happened quite a few times before. Very interesting.

Glowing orbs in ocean surf during thunderstorm. This sighting may not technically be classified as "UFO", since the objects were not actually flying, but it came on the heels of (1) a sighting of the typical orange orbs and flashing white lights frequently seen over the ocean, and (2) a sighting of a strange aircraft which I believe was a military drone. I am reporting those sightings separately.
On the night of June 20, my husband and I were vacationing with his family at an ocean-front home on Oak Island about 1/2 mile east of Ocean Crest Pier. At about 10:30 a thunderstorm began to roll in, and by about 11:00 the storm was in full force. My husband, his brother, my daughter and I were out on the porch facing the ocean, watching the lightning.
My daughter, who is 22 years old, suddenly said "what is THAT?" and pointed to the right (west) toward the beach. We saw a glowing, blue ball. At first we assumed someone was walking on the beach with a light, although it was a torrential downpour and there was lighting flashing every 10 seconds or so.
However, when the lightning would flash we could clearly see that the ball was floating in the surf, probably in about 4 feet of water, and it was moving in a straight, steady line up the shore toward the east. Based on its location, it appeared to be at least 2 feet in diameter. We then noticed a glowing red ball following the blue ball by about 200 feet, and following that was a second red ball which also appeared to be about 200 feet behind the first red ball.
We stood and watched the balls moving through the surf. They were not being blown or pushed by the waves, and they were not bobbing. The blue ball appeared to the larger than the red balls.
They moved in a steady, straight line past our house. My daughter tried to get a video on her phone, but her camera wouldn't focus because of the heavy rainfall. About that time a young woman in the house next door came out onto her porch and saw the balls as well.
She asked if we knew what they were, but we could only shake our heads in bewilderment. As we watched, the first red ball suddenly seemed to roll or be blown out of the water and went up into the dune. As soon as that occurred, the other balls seemed to just disappear.
The following morning, I walked along the dunes to see if there was any sign of the red ball, but found nothing. I am completely baffled.

Orange Orbs and blinking lights, followed by a strange airplane-shaped craft. I was outside on the deck of my vacation home on Oak Island. I was watching for more of the same lights I had seen the night before and sure enough I began to see rapidly-blinking white lights and orange orbs.
The white lights were moving erratically and seemed to be chasing each other. Then one or two large orange lights would appear and then fade away. The lights were all within 30-40 degrees of the horizon.
As I was watching these lights, the next-door neighbor blinded my view with his flood light. As I looked to see what he was doing, he turned it back off and as I turned back toward the ocean I saw a large white light hovering down the beach from me. It seemed to be hovering over the Ocean Crest Pier and the light was just as large and bright as the lights on the pier.
I got my binoculars and looked and all I could see was a large, bright white light. Suddenly the white light seemed to fade away and a small red light appeared and began to move south toward the end of the pier. Then the red light faded away and the large white light appeared again and seemed to just be hovering.
After a couple minutes I could see that the light had begun to move toward me and there appeared to be a red light on the right and a green light on the left. None of these lights were blinking. By then my mother in law had come outside and watched with me as it glided directly over us.
It barely made any sound, only a quiet hum. It was moving somewhat slow and was probably only a few hundred feet in the air. It was headed toward the northeast.
At the back of the craft was a fourth light. This one was large and the same orange color as the orbs I had seen earlier over the ocean. The orange light was blinking, but then stopped and remained steady as the craft moved out of sight over the houses.

Orange Orb and blinking lights My family vacations at Oak Island every year, and we have seen the orbs on several occasions, and have taken to sitting outside and watching for them. On this night, an orange orb appeared over the ocean. It remained stationary and bright for nearly two minutes, then disappeared.
We waited several minutes for more but nothing happened so we went inside. About an hour later, my husband went outside and saw rapidly-blinking white lights moving erratically in the same area of the sky (about 30 degrees above the horizon). We watched the lights for several minutes until they stopped.

Five orange lights moving across the sky. A little before 21:00 hours we were at the furthest most western portion of Oak Island, NC looking for the International Space Station. We noticed to the South there was an orange light moving horizontally east to west across the sky.
It seemed like it was close and was moving at a slow, steady speed to the west. Once it disappeared after about 30 seconds another one appeared just to the east and followed the same path. Again it lasted about 30 seconds before disappearing.
We saw 3 more lights that followed the same pattern and none made any sound. We could tell they were not airplanes because there was no flashing lights or sound.
