Large floating and moving slowly above the tree line, lights arranged in an hexagon or circle, seemed solid but was dark out. On Oct,27 2022 I was driving home from Kohls department store. I was traveling on West William Street towards Apex Peak Way.
I got in the left turn lane to make my left turn and as I was waiting, I looked over to my chiropractor’s office ( on the left ), no reason, just kind of daydreaming. As I was looking around I noticed a bright lights hovering in the night sky caught my eye. I would say about 10-12 lights.
It was behind the parking lot area ( address provided). It was barely moving and rather low , just above the tree line. At first, I thought it was weird and I couldn’t process what it was, so I kept watching.
What I was seeing didn’t fit into the box of what I know to be in the sky. It had too many lights and they were arranged in a circle. The object seemed to tilt/ pivot (this is how I could see the shape as I was looking up at the “ bottom”) and move very little then it started moving slowly.
It was a large/ huge object that had blackness between the lights , I tried to make out the shape and it was very hard to be exact on what I was seeing. For a second I thought I saw angular solid between the lights, but I can’t be sure. It seemed to be a hexagon or a circle, I say hexagon because it seemed as if some of the lights were evenly spaced out and on a linear line.
The size is hard to describe but I will try. Larger than an airplane but not much bigger. As if you drew a circle ( or hexagon) around an airplane and lined it with lights.
However big a commercial airplane is , I’m not sure , but that is close to it. I couldn’t figure it out what I was seeing, and I went through all the possibilities. I was in awe of it and watched it move away quietly.
Well, it seemed quiet as I have easily heard plane flying low in my car and I wasn’t hearing anything. At that moment as it drifted away, I came to the conclusion it was either a cluster of drones or an UAP. When I thought that it could be an UAP, I suddenly thought, I must get video so I can figure out this mystery.
I raced to fallow it and I saw it again twice more on the left-hand side of the a Apex Peak way. It was still traveling so very low. I shot a video and all I got was a distant light…worthless.
I kept driving around for the next ten minutes or so, in hopes of seeing again like the first time. If only I had the presence of mind to capture it on video when I first saw it, however, never in a million years would I think I would see such a thing in the sky that I could not explain. I hope to solve this mystery.
I don’t know if just anyone can call the aviation station, it must have been on someone’s radar. Also, I must mention, I recall ever seeing a plane fly that low that is or was that large. Usually planes ascend or descend , not hover around .
I am convinced it was not a plane or helicopter. I have no idea what i saw tonight. I hope you can look into this, I hope other people wrote in too.

Object in Sky in Cary, NC The object was large, made no sound, and had 5 rotating circular compartments with two areas for lights. This object came over the treeline to my right along with a smaller object. I was looking at it through the passenger window.
I was looking at the bottom side of this object. This object had 5 circular-shaped compartments with two areas for lights and each circle was rotating and the 5 circular things were also rotating. The smaller object was moving back and forth to the larger object quite quickly.
The object was dark grey and where the lights were attached the circles would rotate the object could change shape. I could see the mechanical movements of the object, the rotations of the entire object, and the rotation of the area where the lights were on the object. I grabbed my phone and took 3 pictures, and in the first picture, the white blurry line is the smaller object moving fast to the larger object the video I took was before it left out of sight and the video has been slowed down.

Driving South on HWY 55, a brightly lit, very large object, passed above me at the intersection of Vision Dr. On October 30, 2021, at approximately 7pm, I was driving south on HWY 55 toward Vision Dr. A (seemingly) huge, well lit object flew above me slowly.
My first thought, due to the proximity of RDU airport, this was a 747, or some other very large aircraft either landing or crashing. I realized this was not the case, due to the object making no sound. I turned and drove up Vision Dr.
, while watching the object continue in a south easterly direction, close to downtown Apex. As I watched, the object changed direction, shifting north. The object did not bank, but merely shifted North while remaining horizontal.
Very bizarre. When I got home, I called the Apex police department, asking about any known low flying aircraft in the area. Apex was celebrating an Oktoberfest festival that evening, and I thought maybe it could be related, formation night flying or some other “show”.
Their answer was no, no scheduled traffic. This week (Thanksgiving) I found a commercial aviation radar app that has flight histories and whatnot (Flightradar24). There were no commercial or civilian flights recorded at that time on October 30, where I was driving.
For this reason, I’m making the report. In conclusion, the object was very large, flying low, slow and without sound. I saw no details of the airframe or other structure, due to the brightness of the lights.
The lights were arranged in a “4” square pattern (which I reasoned maybe what 4 light aircraft flying in close formation would look like). All I remember is red and white, with 2-4 very bright white strobes. As another report on this same evening stated, this was a very busy highway and time of evening, with lots of traffic.
I’m likely not the only witness.

Jordan Lake ufo light I had traveled cross country from California to North Carolina, on August 8 between 11:30 and midnight I saw the UFO. We had stopped at Crosswind campgrounds for the night, I had been in the RV for quite some time so I took a walk alone to stretch out. Our campsite was B73 I walked about 3-5 minutes to the lakeside and looked at the water and admired how still it was.
From roughly about a mile away from under the bridge I saw a white light with a red center it began coming in my direction extremely fast. It went behind a group of trees and powered down. I own jet skis and no jet ski moves that fast and didn’t disturb the water.

Long object with 4 green fixed lights moving slow and low Driving on Williams street heading towards RT1 in Apex, we were observed something about 50 feet long with 4 solid green lights cross over the 4 lane road at about 25-35MPH or less. Object moved slowly across the road and over some trees out of our line of sight. Object was NOT an aircraft fixed wing or rotor.
Made no noticeable noise, and all 4 people in the car yelled, “What is that!!??” at the same time. One witness is an aviation enthusiast, and another a med flight nurse with 28 years in rotor and fixed wing aircraft.

Two white cylindrical objects sighted above Apex NC Two white cigar-shaped or cylindrical objects sighted moving at a constant speed, bearing almost due north. One object was further ahead of the second one, in other words it was further north, and the second object was south west of the first object. They both appeared to be moving at the same speed.
The size and altitude was not clear, but I would estimate probably 6000 ft or so, because they moved behind or through the low cumulus clouds. They appeared to be the size of a small propeller plane, possibly larger due to perspective. No sound was audible from the objects, and there were no visible contrails or exhaust coming from the objects.
The objects appeared to be white, perfect cylinders with a "pinch" in the middle, somewhat similar to the appearance of a single chromatid in a chromosome pair. I did see a glint sunlight reflected so they seem to be reflective. I did not see any lights blinking, flashing or anything other lights on the objects ! or emanating from the objects.
Both objects moved north at a constant speed and did not have any erratic movements. The objects were visible for maybe 30-60 seconds as they glided silently before moving out of sight behind the tree line.

There was video taken and also photos that show 10 lights on the object 5 were blue/green and the other gray/white. Then as the object changed direction the lights turned red in color there is no possibility in my eyes or my girls that this was a helicopter or airplane I am sure there is going to be numerous reports of this for it was close to a industrial area where there were businesses in the area. We have lived here for several years and never did we see anything like this and also there is no little airport near the area I will email photos and video of what we witnessed.

My father, sister, and I witness an octagonal UFO along N Salem St starting at the intersection at US 64 (19:30 EST). It was around 19:30 EST when me, my father, and my younger sister witnessed a UFO on the US 64 and N Salem Street intersection in Apex North Carolina in our car as we were driving downtown. The craft was around 75ft to 100ft above us and that's when we had the clearest view.
Identification of the craft physical color was not able to be witnessed due to low visibility due to it being dark out. However, the craft was in the shape a flat octagonal prism. We new this because of the red and green lights visible at each of the eight corners of the craft.
As we observed the craft was turning counterclockwise as it slowly moved east from our original location. As we were going down Salem St, the craft could still be seen but only its lights and its shaped cannot be distinguished at that point beyond the trees.

HUGE RED CRAFT IN NC, APEX!!! MANY WITNESSES Today October 10, 2019, at around 7:30 PM me and my family witnessed a huge craft in the sky, at first it was silver and was flashing lights then we tried to follow it but it disappeared. Then 5 minutes later we saw it again and this time it changed to bright red lights and we started recording. I told people about it and my friend sent me a video and told me that many people at a school football game also saw it, in the video it was bright red and silver and it seemed to be really close.
Other people around Holly Springs are also saying they saw the bright red craft.

Huge diamond shaped aircraft moved very slowly, hovered, then went below tree line. Red/green non-flashing lights. Low quiet hum.
On November 8, 2018, at approximately 7:30pm, we were walking our dogs down our street and saw a very large (larger than our house), squished-diamond shaped, black aircraft, with red and green non-flashing lights, moving extremely slowly from left to right. It was just over the tree tops, but lower than the top of the radio tower, that was to its left. It slowed almost to a stop and turned to its left and went below the tree line.
There was no obvious aircraft engine noise, but had a low hum to it. I was waiting to hear a crash and an explosion, but it never happened. My friend, who is a pilot, was with me.
He said he had never seen anything like it. Our neighbor said she also saw it, but did not know what it was. What was remarkable was how large, quiet and slow moving it was.

Bright green light sparking in sky near Lake Jordan While driving east on rt 64 from Apex towards Raleigh, a bright green light flew over the road from the south. My first thought was that it was a plane preparing for landing at RDU but it was low enough to observe that there was nothing else attached to the light. As it flew silently over the rd it began to spark from the bottom.
The Sparks fell from the object as it disappeared over the trees on the other side of the rd. This all happened as I was approaching lake Jordan from the direction of Pittsboro. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain anonymous; provides little contact information.

Blue lights from a spinning UFO that glided across the sky. From Greensboro I was driving to Raleigh to meet a friend. It was my first time driving this route.
At one point I found myself looking way up above me whilst on a narrow road surrounded by trees on both sides of me. There were these blue lights gliding across the sky. I was unable to stop because there was another car behind me.
It appeared that the lights came from a hovering craft that spun - causing the lights to look like they were blinking. It was such a spectacular blue. A glowing blue.
Because I could not take my eyes off the road just to completely stare at it. from a distance when I looked up next it had disappeared curving west and into the lefthand side of the trees.

Two orange-ish fireballs travelling horizontally in succession with some sparks coming out of them. I have a cathedral ceiling in the living room with double windows high up on the wall. I was just sitting on the couch and looked up and saw an orange-red-white fireball passing somewhat slowly by, through the double windows.
It was large. It was dark out, so it was hard to tell which direction it was travelling. No noise, no trail left behind.
It appeared to be going away from me at a diagonal direction I had to get up and stand back in the room to watch where it was going. After a short time (a minute??) I noticed things that looked like sparks come down only from the bottom of the fireball. At that point I thought it was likely some type of firework or flare.
It appeared to disappear behind some trees behind a main road near my house where there is a wooded area. In a few minutes, another similar thing came by and did the exact same trajectory, disappearing behind the trees. I am thinking it's a firework (??).
It was travelling fairly slowly though, and generally in a horizontal direction, as if being steered.I think a firework would go straight up vertically (?).

Low flying, fast moving, light disappears into thin air. While having a cigarette on my back porch I just happened to look up and I saw a white light with a very slight light green tint. It seemed to be very low and was completely silent as moved swiftly towards the north and east.
I watched just for a few moments before the light disappeared before my eyes.

Satellite "flaring" in the same manner on two different nights two weeks apart. I'm 44 years old and have been a night sky watcher all my life. I observe the sky every cloudless night as I walk my dog.
I'm very familiar with low altitude local air traffic (near RDU) as well as high altitude eastern seaboard traffic. I also know how to spot reflections from low orbit satellites near the daylight terminator in the hours after sunset. In fact looking for them is a casual hobby of mine and I've seen countless.
However over the last couple of weeks I've seen what appeared to be two satellites on two different nights behave in a way I've not seen before. The first time I wrote it off as a fluke. When I saw it a second time it got me questioning that maybe they weren't satellites at all but something very much more peculiar.
The first event was a point of light almost directly overheard in a northerly direction. I've observed that one aspect of satellite sunlight reflections versus aircraft lamp illumination is that reflections tend to have a blueish hue, almost starlight quality, where lamps are more yellowish. I look for almost invisible points of blueish light moving at speeds very much faster than air traffic would be at an altitude where the running lamps would be equally dim.
Another aspect I look for is a gradual steady brightening and fading of the light, versus abrupt changes in brightness that would be caused by lamps being masked by the structure of a passing aircraft. In this case the point of light met all of the above qualifications. However as we (my wife and I) were watching the light over a period of about 15 seconds waiting for it to fade away it suddenly flared with a much brighter yellowish light for about 3 seconds then equally suddenly went completely dark with no trace.
During the 3 second period it seemed to stop completely, at least that was my perception. But I dismissed that as just being a side effect of being spellbound by something I hadn't seen before. Convinced it was a satellite from the start we both gasped and even joked that it must've been a flying saucer engaging its hyperdrive and blasting out of sight.
We were amused at the spectacle. But then last night, again while walking our dog, we saw it again. This time it was in a southerly direction but otherwise the circumstance were nearly identical.
An almost imperceptible blueish light moving at high speed relative to its apparently altitude just like any other satellite. However we saw it flare again and much the same way. Again it was for about 3 seconds but it seemed to be even brighter this time.
This time I realized that it was actually brighter than the forward lights of an approaching airliner. We are in one of the approach paths to RDU so I'm very familiar with that. It was very brilliant.
In fact I estimate it was brighter than any other natural or man made night sky object would be except the moon. Unlike the first sighting though it didn't completely disappear after the flare. It returned back to the dim blueish light but then seemed to "skip" across the sky.
Instead of fading out gradually in a straight line it seemed to jump ! forward and side to side by small amounts as it faded. I have to confess the skipping was my perception but I'm not 100% sure it was the case. The flare was bright enough that it may have affected my focused night sight.
But again it's something I've never witnessed before. I'm no longer 100% convinced what we saw were satellites due to this flaring behavior. One time, maybe.
But twice in such close date proximity just makes it seem very unlikely. If it was a satellite it seems that it must've been the same one to behave in the same way. It would've had to have had some surface area large enough to reflect enough sunlight from 250+ miles away to make it so bright and we would have had to have been lucky enough to see it just when it was overhead and just when it was pointed just right to witness it flare on two different uncoordinated occasions.
Again seems unlikely. I look forward to seeing this thing again or finding an explanation!.

unexplainable air craft My boyfriend and I were laying in bed. His window is right by is bed to we were looking out of it. I noticed something that looked like a really bright star.
It started slowly moving towards us. We ran outside to watch it. The closer that it got we noticed it had lights coming from all sides.
Very bright lights. It started going straight up in the air very slowly. we stared at it until it just became a star.
It never went farther away or came any closer after that. It was just the brightest star in the sky. we went back in side and were talking about what we just saw.
Moments later i spotted another one. A bigger one with more lights than the first one. It was moving so slow but came so low we knew it was not an air plane or anything else.
It had a soft humming noise as well. We ran out side again and for something that was moving so slow by the time we ran out thereIt was gone. We have been trying to talk our selves out of what we saw for the past week.
It w! as the weirdest thing we have had happen to us.

Spotted: a triangular shaped object hovering slight above treeline level at the border of Apex and Cary. A friend and I were on our way to school when we approached a stoplight. I noticed two bright lights on what appeared to be a very large, low-flying plane that, based upon the light positions, seemed to be making such a turn that its wings were vertical.
In specific terms, I would estimate that the object was no higher than two hundred yards above the ground. However, as we turned right from the stoplight, and I was able to get a better view of the object, I noticed that it had not been turning, and that the effect of vertical wings had actually derived from the positioning of two of the lights with one closer to me than the other. As I looked attempted to observe the object better, which was difficult considering how dark it was, I noticed a third light, completing a triangular shape.
At this point I exclaimed to my friend, who was driving the car, about the object. He took a very quick glance, and assumed that it may have been a bomber plane. As unlikely as that would have been, what completely ruled out that possibility was that fact that the object had not moved throughout the two minutes that I had seen it at this point.
So we continue to drive, while I am watching the object, waiting for it to move and at the very least do away with certainty that it was a non-human object (I knew as a fact it was not a helicopter). However, as we approached yet another stoplight between a mile-and-a-half and two miles from the first stoplight, my friend decided that he would have a look at the object himself. He took a quick glance back, and said something to me, at which moment I took my sight away from the object to respond to him.
We had a very brief transaction of words, and upon looking back at where the object was we found it no longer visible. The area that the object was over was that of a neighborhood, which was bordered on one side by a construction zone. At first I thought that maybe the lights were from a crane or construction lights from the frame of a multiple-story building that was being worked upon during the early hours.
However, returning home that evening I noticed that not only were there no cranes, but the building that was being built only had about five floors. Large cranes for such a small building would be unnecessary, and the building itself was not tall. At least, not tall enough to match the height of the object I saw in the sky.
