We were staying in a beach house on vacation. I couldn’t sleep so I went outside to look at the stars. The Moon was overhead, the ocean reflected it on my right.
It was relatively clear with a few clouds. The wind was blowing from the West. The time span is roughly 2345 – 0015.
I checked the clock when I came back in. Not sure when I went out. Seemed like a half hour.
There was a lot going on. This is what I remember from the night of 7/30/2020 over the Atlantic. Holden Beach, NC.
I sat and faced South, enjoying the night. The Moon had things lit up to my right and it grew darker to my left. I noticed a light on the horizon, SSE.
(Well left of center if I looked straight out at the ocean). I thought Oh, a boat or a ship. And started looking at it.
Then it disappeared. Then is was back. I sat looking at it and a red light streaked out at a 45-degree angle to my right.
No more light. I couldn’t figure out what I was seeing. Military? Whatever it was happened way out on the horizon .
I strained my eyes to see. Then I saw a light kind of corkscrew out of the same spot. Then a light with a short, wavy path.
Same spot. Not travelling far, but enough to see. I started wondering if it was a cruise ship shooting fireworks, but there were no bursts, just lights.
Then a light started at the same place and went straight up to about 20 degrees above the horizon, hesitated and then streaked off to the right at roughly 45-degrees. I’m entering the realm of disbelief.! Standing now… To this point everything had been emanating from the same spot on the horizon.
At one point I stared at a light and lowered my glasses to make sure it wasn’t a reflection, then I looked away and looked back to make sure it wasn’t an issue with my eyes. I’m 62. There were streaks emanating from that point upward.
Hundreds of them, like someone was shooting at something. Not like tracers, more like faint trails from shooting stars, but going up. Just a bunch of faint lines, making a vase shape.
White lights streaked downward toward that spot from different directions occasionally. It was becoming surreal. I thought about waking my wife but I was afraid I would miss something.
Looking behind me and getting creeped out. Then a white light streaked across the sky parallel to the horizon. It came from right to left and traversed most of the sky.
It winked out above the spot with all of the activity. One light appeared a little to my right on the horizon and shot up and right disappearing in a short red line. Next one started directly in front of me.
Maybe 20-25 degrees above the horizon and shot down and to the left in the general direction of the original spot on the horizon. Same thing, short red streak and then nothing. Saw what appeared to be a couple of dark objects moving together over the water and not on the horizon, but my eyes could have been playing tricks on me.
Now more to my right and entering the brightness of the Moon another light appeared. It was low, but not on the horizon and appeared to be on the end of a cigar shaped object, black and tumbling. Bizarre.
Not a lot of logical movement out there. I began wondering if there was some kind on war going on that I don’t know about. A bright light shot up from the location with all of the activity.
It was bigger and brighter than anything I had yet seen. Had the color of an old street light before they started making the amber ones. Kind of an electric green.
It moved from the horizon to the cloud in an instant. The clouds were long and made up of small puffy clouds all lined up. The light flew up close to the end of the cloud formation, stopped and made a right angle turn in between the small ‘cloudlets’, lighting them up.
Then turned back out from between the clouds and stopped. Not turned, instantly changed direction. It then split into 2 lights.
They moved exactly the same, one dropping to the left and one dropping to the right. If you kept the original location it would have probably been an equilateral triangle. I guess I freaked out a little when it lit the clouds and split, because I can’t remember after that.
I may have looked away and then back and they were gone. Hair raised on my arms. I got scared.
I watched for a few more minutes. Nothing more happened so I went inside. I woke at 0500 and went back out to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me.
The Moon had set and it was pitch black. No lights created by my eyes due to low light. The next morning, I sat down, made notes and drew it out, then went outside and took a picture from where I was observing.
I went out the next night at the same time. The Moon was in a slightly different place and there were no clouds. Nothing.

A cylyndrical shaped object traveling from North to South was observed traveling at a great speed. Coloration was green and the object disappeared at about 30 degrees above the horizon. Potentially the object could have been a meteor, however its size was massive.
If I held my hand out straight, the objects size would have been the thickness in my thumb.

3 star-like lights On the night of June 17, 2015 multiple people witnessed the same event of what we can only describe as an unidentified flying object sighting. Four of us were sitting and star gazing on the back porch of our ocean front rental house in Holden Beach, NC. It was a perfectly clear night with no clouds in the sky.
I pointed out 3 perfectly arranged “stars” as I called them. They really looked like stars because they were just light. After about 5 seconds of us saying how odd it was to see stars that close together and forming a perfect, downward pointing, triangle we saw what none of us could logically explain.
The arrangement below is what we saw, they are labeled for reference. A B C At the same time, A and C moved farther from B. Object A moved horizontally to the left.
Object C moved straight downward. They did not travel very far, but object A stopped moving before Object C did. A B C Once objects A and C stopped moving, both object A and C disappeared immediately.
They didn’t continue moving the light just faded into nothing. About 2 seconds after A and C disappeared, object B disappeared. We were all completely baffled by this and all went online to see if there were any military operations listed as happening that night, but we found nothing.

3 bright lights in western sky at Holden Beach. We were sitting facing the beach (south) at night and saw towards western direction a light that got very bright that, at first, looked like a star. Then it got very bright.
It seemed to be a circular shape. Then we saw a second one get bright, then a third. This was all in a span of 10 seconds.
They were in a triangular formation. They all went south.very quickly.
Then separated and flew away. They had blue flashing lights after the bright light dimmed a bit. I have never seen anything like it.
I thought maybe military-like jets that go at super speed.but they were so fast, I am not sure.

A single orange fireball in the South sky that lasted approximately 2 seconds and disappeared. My partner and I witnessed an orange fireball for about 2 seconds before it disappeared. The sky was very busy.
We also witnessed two shooting stars. We waited a while for more of the orange lights as we have witnessed them a few times before, but no dice. We will be more vigilant this evening and report back anything we see.

Bright orange saucer seen flying over Holden Beach, NC I witnessed a bright orange saucer over Holden Beach, NC. It flew silently. It came from over the ocean and continued on over the island of Holden Beach, NC.
Its path was slow, but steady, and the altitude was extremely low. My estimate of its flying height would be 1/4 of a mile. I estimate its distance from me to be between 3 and 6 miles.
It was only in my view for about 20 seconds when I lost sight of it, as the inland trees blocked my view.

Large triangle formation of 3 orange fireballs followed by 8-10 small craft with erratic blinking white lights. My partner and I were sitting casually sitting on the front porch of our beach house facing the ocean. The house is located on the other side of the road from the oceanfront homes.
Suddenly, without a sound or any type of indication, 3 orange lights appeared in the sky in a large triangle formation. The lights had the appearance of fire and glowed for about 7 seconds before disappearing. The triangle was parallel to the shore with it's "point" toward the West.
This point was the first light to disappear; quickly followed by the trailing two which disappeared simultaneously. Shortly after this, about 8-10 craft appeared in the sky at varying intervals and numbers over the next hour. They were visible only by their erratically blinking white lights.
It was almost like they were communicating with each other using these lights. They were back and forth all across the sky. The orange fireballs did appear twice more in front of the house one at a time several minutes apart.
It was so sudden and so strange that we'll be glued to our chairs every night for the next 4 days.

multiple amber orbs observed over the ocean night sky for 2 straight nights in Holden beach ,NC We were on the deck watching the stars over the ocean sky when we all saw a very large bright amber sphere which would light up and go out slowly. When next we saw it it would be in a different location in the sky. Each time it would appear it would last a different amount of time.
Several times we saw 2 appear at the same time and then they broke up into smaller spheres in a sparkle pattern and moved across the sky. We observed these objects for 2 different nights and 8-10 people saw them with us. They always appeared after dark over the ocean in a southern direction.
The first night we probably observed at least 30 times these spheres of amber light and sparkles. My husband, who is an engineer, observed them with binoculars and stated they appeared to be a line of lights rather than a single orb.

Bright and flashing orbs moving and changing colors in the sky off Holden Beach. Very bright orbs appeared 3 separate times and after each went dark smaller orbs were seen flashing and moving throught the sky. Flashing was not consistent and movement was erratic.
Individuals in the beach house next to us were watching the activity also. A couple of the orbs seemed to change to red at various times. We were located right on the beach and watched the activity for a solid 45 mins.
At a certain point at the end all orbs turned and seemed to fly off into the distance.

It seemed like just a red light coming at us at 100mph, once over us it seemed to slow down A LOT, it was triangle and had 4 lights that started off as red. When over us it changed. Colors from red to green to white.
Then after about 3 seconds of hovering over us, it took off as fast as it came toward us.

Bright red light with a flashing center that followed my flash light beam for over five minutes. My son , his friend and I was looking out over the ocean a little before 9:00 pm when we noticed a bright red light that seemed to hover over the ocean about 5 to 6 miles out. I thought at first it was a boat with a flashing beacon but as I was explaining to the other two that on tv I noticed that sky watchers like to flash a bright flashlight at them to see if they resond.
I flashed a bright Mag flashlight beam at the light expecting nothing but when I flashed it off to the right of it , The light suddenly flew straight to where I flashed the light. This went on for over five minutes . Where ever I flashed my beam it flew straight to it.
After a while I made a cure with my light beam like a half circle with it ending in the ocean and when it followed the movment it disapered into the ocean. We were on the beach at the time and the only noise we could hear was the ocean waves. I have been to sky watchs before but I never had this kind of reaction.
The light was a very bright red , flashing a red light from its middle. I held out my hand to guess its size and when I made a fist I could barly see the red light around my fist , IT WAS BIG. I wish I brought my phone to get pictures but because we were close to the water I left it in the house ( that was right behind us ).
We went back out the next two nights watching to see if it returned but it did not. When I first seen this light I thought it was on the ocean's surface but was able to tell it wasnt because I could see the ocean's surface below its glow. It also moved at great speed to each spot my lights beam flashed at, much faster then anything I know of and the way it stopped , like on a dime.
Were talking a long distance between where each light beam was flashed at. If I had to guess I would say most of the distances was atleast twelve inchs apart using my right hand being held out as a guide. This was an experience all three of us will have as a memory forever.
I am hoping to go back out to this same beach house this summer and if I do I will be ready and be watching again.
