Rainy night. Saw a burnt orange light flickering through the tree in our back yard. Went outside and this light appeared to be moving very slowly above the city.
Burnt orange almost red. It stopped then climbing upward disappeared into clouds. Did this three times.

While taking the family dog outside, it was identified that an unknown glowing orange object around 1000 feet up was flying just above our house with no sound whatsoever. The object remained at the same altitude and speed until no longer in sight. The orange glow was not indicative of a commercial craft plus it had no propulsion noise.
We started recording the event on an iPhone and it was recording but when we went to replay the video only the first seconds actually were captured.

Massive aircraft hovering just above tree-line Sitting on the front porch smoking a cigarette, I noticed 3 lights hovering over the tree line, I then pointed it out to my gf, and we began trying to figure out what it could be. during this process the object stayed hovering for about the time it time it took to finish my cigarette, at this time we started walking in that direction. it seemed almost as soon as we began to walk towards it the object began moving and the light formation had changed it began with one yellow light in front one in the back and a red/orange one in the middle.
This time it was yellow yellow red. As we reached a clearing a little down the road we were able to see the object pretty clearly as it slowly went downward. This aircraft was easily 3 times the size of a grounded airplane had only 3 lights and made absolutely no sound at all.
it went behind a small group of tree but then never came out the other side. As we were walking back to the house we noticed multiple airplanes and one helicopter almost surveying the exact area we just witnessed this enormous aircraft. :note: I have always been a skeptic about UFOs but tonight just changed that.
This thing was like a ocean liner in the sky and just above tree level there is no other explanation for that. Red streak in the sky, followed by a flying black disc with a flashing red light. My family and I saw what looked like a long streak of fire in the sky. It remained for a few minutes without changing, but appeared to be moving downward very slowly.
Two of us went outside for a better look. The streak was silent. All of a sudden, it shortened, then it stretched really long and curved.
It suddenly disappeared, and we saw a black disc shaped object where the streak appeared to end. It had a blinking red light, and it flew quickly up and out of sight.

rectangular object rise from the field and followed along with my car for 2 miles Last night as I was stopped at a stop sign, I saw the lights hovering low to the ground about 100 yds away across the field. It rose up and as I turned right it followed me from across the field for about two miles. I tried to film it but the video didn't save.
I lost track of it when it went over the top of my car as I was stopped at another stop sign. Then I lost it. There were other aircraft in the area but not that close.
Maybe it was a drone, but it freaked me out. It had two large white lights on each side and a light bar in the middle. It was moving about 45 miles and followed me just above the trees but still across the road and about 100 yds away.
It was more rectangle shape than anything with bright lights. I felt like I was being observed since it seemed to follow my every move.

On the evening of 06/05, my son and I where coming back from the store. We were about 200 yards from our street, when we saw over the tree tops 2 shapes ( > > ) with white lights at each tip, (top, middle point, bottom). We turned away from our home to follow the lights.
We came upon a family, Dad and 2 or more kids walking back from the pool. We stopped and asked, "Did you just see that?" He said, "Yes, that why we left the pool." We couldn't see the lights because of the trees for about 1 minute, and the next time we saw the things, the lights were no longer white, they were red and blue.
We drove another 5 yards to get to the open area of the subdivision and it was gone, and we had a 90 degree sight line. The 2 V's very close together and you could see sky in between and flying low and no noise. I didn't call this in until I heard a similar sighting tonight on Coast to Coast.

Strange lights near Raleigh, NC. While heading east toward Fuquay-Varina from Holly Springs I noticed a tight group of 3 Orange Lights in the sky. They stayed in front of me for several minutes then eventually were on my left side (north).
While changing angles I noticed no anti-collision lights on the object. I did however notice what appear to be some type of military aircraft above the object flying steady with the lights (500+/- feet). I was able to see 4 anti-collision lights on the aircraft above the object.
While returning to Holly Springs the object had circled back from the northwest and was heading southeast towards it original location. Again it appeared a military aircraft was still flying near by. Once I returned home I noticed the inbound aircraft to RDU were in a holding pattern toward the north with several dark aircraft heading toward the direction of the lights.
We do have a military base to our south however these lights did not appear to have any normal aircraft landing or flying light pattern. The lights appeared to be visible from 360 which struck me as odd as well as no anti-collision lights visible from any angle.

Orange-red fireball falling over Fuquay Varina We were seated at Southpark softball fields, and saw an orange-red fireball falling from the sky in the distance over the trees. It was about a mile away, to the southeast. It was around 8:30pm, but I didn't look at my watch at the time.
At least 2 of us saw it. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD)).

Blue dancing light-stars in photo are stationary.camera hand held Viewing from HWY 42 ans Phelps Farm Rd looking SW.object was blue and moved in a darting motion.
Center of object was a dark blue with a wing configuration which appeared more transparent towards edges. Light would fade to a single red light and would hover at what would appear to be 1500 ft. ( I was in the 82nd Abn and judged the altitude by an aircraft at 1200ft as viewed from the ground).

5 bright lights that were slanted appeared next to each other in the night sky over Fuquay Varina, NC. We were driving home when I saw (the driver) saw some strange bright lights in the sky opposite of the moon. There was a tree line, so it was hard to keep a constant eye on them.
They appears like 5 lights that were slanted like hash marks right next to each other. They moved very grauatedly and looked like they were blending together into one light and then separated some but only into 3 lights when it did. The light was a white color.
There were no stars out, just the moon. It was hard to tell for sure it the lights were blending together as we were driving and I wasn’t sure if it was just because our vantage point was changing or the lights were changing. I asked my passenger if she saw the lights when I first did and she did and we both watched them as they eventually disappeared altogether.
We spoke about it and both thought it wasn't falling stars as they were there for a longer than a flash and they moved really slow like they were in water or s! omething. They didn’t fall any and they stayed just as bright as when we first saw them until they were gone in a blink. ((NUFORC Note: Source of report corrected date to November 03, 2009.

Round silent turqouise glowing orb floating up and away toward Raleigh North Carolina Aug, 2, 2008, My wife and I and her visiting friend were walking thru our suburban neighborhood Saturday evening. Their was a slight breeze so it was very comfortable (no bugs) and the temperature was nice (maybe 75 F), A MASSIVE heat lightning storm was constantly lighting up the eastward sky (towards Raleigh NC) from us in Fuquay Varina NC. No rain, no thunder.
At 10:30PM (approx) my wife said "ARE YOU SEEING THAT?" We stopped in the street as we were walking and looked up and in the direction of the lightning (EAST), but between us the lightning was a single glowing silent bluish green round orb. Slowing accending and getting farther away. I had no watch, cel phone nor camera of any kind.
We watched it accend and fade into the distance in about 60 seconds. It had a smooth SPLINE flight path but NOT EXACLTY straight. I moved like it could be a self-illuminated turquoise balloon.
BUT it's size was much bigger than the regular basketball-sized party balloon. If you hold out your arm and look at your pinky fingernail. It was about that size in the sky.
And we would guess a few thousand feet away at least. So I would estimate it to be at least the size of a van. Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 the size of a hot air balloon (but it was completely round and not pointed at the bottom like a hot air balloon).
But a party balloon that size in the sky would only be a few houses away, maybe 200 feet. This thing was UP in the sky and getting higher and "drifting" away at a pretty good speed. It HAD to be bigger.
It glowed a strange color. Not intense green color like a street light. More of a diffused turquoise color.
I say it was more green and my wife says it was more blue. But we both agree it was turquoise. It was completely silent.
Straight above us was a clear patch of sky with no clouds and bright white stars. It was not "bright" like Venus was that night. It was dimmer but still clearly defined against the sky.
Possibly it was brighter at the center than the edges of the object but I can't say for certa! in. I've never seen an object/light that color, especially in the sky before. It got so distant after a minute you could not see it anymore.
There was a few neighbors (2 adult men) also looking in the object's direction standing in the street a few houses down (probably looking at the constant lightning which was beautiful) and I was gonna ask them if they saw the object but before I reached them they went inside. I don't know them so I did not ring their doorbell. The next day I asked a few neighbors I do know and they of course laughed and said no they didn't see anything the night before.
Then I googled to see if anyone else saw the object and might be chatting about it, and found a wikipedia description of the same or similar turquoise object (the one I saw never grew a white comet-like tail) being spotted in nearby Charlotte a year or so before. So after telling my wife THAT, she said I should report it. I called the local police and they said ANYTHING having to do with the sky is the FAAs domain.
So I called them and got an answering machine. I left a message. Then I left a message at my local newspaper.
THEN I reported it on MUFON. Then I called 2 local tv stations and they said they had not had any reports about it. It's really bugging me.
I really want to know what it was - and stangely AS I WAS WATCHING IT, I was already bummed out that I'll probably NEVER KNOW what I'm looking even is. And although, I did not have a camera I'm a graphic artist so I immediately made a composite (re-creation) photograph or what it looked like (using imagery from the web). I hope you can understand the experience we had and help discern what it might've been.
About 45 minutes later my wife saw a "shooting star" in the areaof sky as the round object. We stayed outside for about an hour after talking about it and hoping to see it again. But we never did.
Now I keep a digital camera with me when I walk our neighborhood.

Huge, slow moving, silent, black triangular shaped craft flying at very low altitude. I was new to the area at this time and was by myself driving on a two lane road outside of Fuquay Varina, NC. It was a crystal clear night without a moon when I spotted four large round lights glowing softly off to the right side of the road ahead about a quarter of a mile away.
They seemed to be motionless at first and my first thought was that they were lights on top of a communications tower because of the numerous towers in the area. Then I realized that tower lights were just small blinking lights there to warn aircraft of their position. These lights were large, about 3' in diameter, they didn't blink, and they had a soft glow like a child's night light, not like a spot light, and they didn't light up the ground or anything around them.
Then I noticed they weren't stationary, but they were moving very slowly towards the road that I was on. I started to slow down and realized that it was going to cross over the road right over my head if I slowed down enough, which I did. I rolled down the windows of the car so I could hear it but there was no sound at all.
There were trees lining both sides of the road that obscured my sight of this object as it got nearer to me but I finally slowed down to the point that I came to a complete stop on the road. I hadn't seen any other cars on this road at all and hadn't passed any houses for miles, so it was pretty much an isolated and deserted part of the country, so I was safe to sit at a stop on the road with my car idling, windows down with my head out the window and looking up as the front of this thing appeared over the tree tops and slowly and silently floated overhead. It wasn't more than a couple hundred feet high at the most because it wasn't much higher than the pine trees alongside the road.
Its speed made me think of a blimp cruising along. It was black and blended in with the pitch black night, making it very hard to see the exact shape of it inspite of being so close, but I could make out what appeared to be panels on the uder side of the craft as the front disappeard over the trees on the opposite side of the road. It continued to glide in total silence at a very slow speed until the back of the craft appeared over the trees on the right side of the road and then disappeared over the treetops on the left side of the road.
I couldn't see the whole craft at one time because of the trees so the exact size and shape is hard to determine for sure, but because of my occupation I can be considered a very reliable source for size and shape estimates, and I believe what I saw was in a triangular shape and was at least 300' long and 150' wide. And the strangest part about it is that as it passed over me not more than 200' to 300' overhead, I didn't see the four large round lights that first brought my attention to the object. I was directly under the craft so they might have been located on the sides and not visible from where I looked up at it.
I have only told a few people about this experience because nobody seems to believe anything that can't be explained, and that things that don't fall within our general knowledge of things just can't be true and must have been imagined. But I know what I saw and I didn't imagine anything. And this wasn't something that was in the distance either.
It was only a few hundred feet away from me at the most. It was huge, totally silent, moving very slowly, and because it was either painted black or made of a very dark material it was almost invisible against a black night sky. I'm glad I finally found a place that I can tell about this experience because it's been on my mind for the past year and seems so significant that it should be told.

I was traveling on state road 1010 heading towards Hwy 401 around 6pm, just North of Fuquay Varina, NC. Just above the tree line on the left, I noticed some lights coming over the tree tops. The object’s altitude appeared to be just a couple hundred feet and very large.
It was moving very slowly and large enough to cover the entire field. It came over the tree tops on one side of the field and slowly crossed the field and disappeared over the trees on the opposite side of the field. Traffic was very heavy and to my astonishment no one was stopping, but I’m sure someone noticed it.
I haven’t told anyone about this, but my immediate family. I wonder how many of us have witnessed something extraordinary but keep it to our selves, because it doesn’t seem possible, even though we witnessed with our own eyes. Bright light coming towards me, then turned and vanished. 8:25 PM EST, Sept 6, 2001, while walking into my garage bringing the trash can in, I noticed a very bright star. I thought, wow look at the north star tonight, but then I noticed that it was brighter than normal and looked more like a spotlight shining towards my direction than a star.
There was absolutely no sound. But it was about the same size in diameter as the stars all around it which made me think this object is extremely far away and not a star, and not an airplane either. I could see no motion, no blinking, and no flickering whatsever.
Then all of the sudden the light went dim, it was about exactly the same brightness of the stars around it then. And to my astonishment, it started moving Northeast in the sky away from me and faded away after about 3 to 5 seconds. The sky was absolutely clear, stars all around it clearly visible, but this object completely disappeared in just seconds.
It was obvious that this object was headed towards the ground, then made a sudden turn and went the other direction. It did not cast a beam of light in the new direction it was headed which also makes me believe it was way up there above the atmospheric dust and moisture. I have never reported anything like this before, nor have I ever seen anything that I couldn't explain either.
But I am absolutely sure this was no plane, no meteor, or anything that I have ever seen before. I feel extremely fortunate to have seen this and doubt I'll ever see another one, but I would love to hear from anyone who might have seen this thing as well. After thinking about this incident for about 45 minutes and explaining it to my wife I decided to log into the internet to see if there was a place to log such sitings and I came accross this site.
I am not a UFO enthusiest or anything but I thought I would share it with someone who might appreciate it. I wrote this about 1 hour after I saw it while the incident was still fresh on my mind. j.
