My friends and I saw up to 40 lights in the North Texas sky. On 11/27/2004 around 16:30 I was arriving home from Christmast shopping with friends. I live on the third floor of an apartment building in Lewisville Texas (North Dallas).
When I reached the top of the stairs something caught my eye in the sky. I turned and saw about 8-10 objects in the Northern horizon moving up and to the east. Just to the Northwest of these lights was a low hanging strange like smoke that moved in the same direction of the lights.
I watched lights for about 30 seconds, thinking they where balloons. Then I went into my house. Immediately upon entering my house I received a telephone call from a friend of mine that lives on the second floor of my building, come outside on the patio immediately.
By this time, her son was on the patio as well as my neighbor that lives directly below me. We began to watch these 10-12 of these objects in the sky. My friends looked at them with binoculars and we quickly decided that they where not balloons but some type of light.
They seemed to launch from somewhere on the horizon and move up and to the right. We watched this set of lights until they we could no longer see them anymore. This went on for about an hour.
I would say we saw a total of 4 sets of these lights. We where so amazed with the lights and the strange looking fog on the horizon that we failed to take any pictures. Living near DFW airport we are use to seeing lots of airplanes.
We did not see airplanes last night, we even joked because we saw airplanes flying in different points in the sky. At one point 2 of the lights almost played with each other by jerking back and forth, like they where playing tug of war. Bright lights in Lewisville, TX Peter, at your request I am entering an extended, more detailed report of what I saw on Saturday night near Dallas. Lewisville is a city just north of Dallas, maybe 10 miles from North Dallas. I had been shopping that evening with a friend and my son, we got home around 6:15 or so.
I put all my bags down and went out to the patio. There, I saw my neighbor, Rich, outside on his patio. He was looking into the sky, nothing unusual for any of us.
He asked me to look at what he was seeing. I looked through a break between the tree and the building next to my apartment building. There is a 4 foot, or so, space between them.
I looked in the direction of what seemed to be the north-western horizon. There were balls of light going up into the air. At first I asked if they were balloons, Rich explained that he had been watching them for a while and didn't think they acted much like a balloon.
I continued to watch them, as I watched more and more would come up into my line of vision. Altogether, there would be anywhere from 9 to 15 of these individual balls of light in a group. This group would move upward towards the stars, but always staying in formation.
The formations were nothing I have ever seen before. There seemed to always be a "lead" ball of light, then two or three in a pattern behind it. Then the other 6 or so would be in a half circle behind the lead balls.
(weird!). As I became increasingly curious about what we were seeing, I began to realize that they couldn't have been balloons as they went a great distance into the sky. Once they got up high enough to where you had to bend your head backwards to see them, it resembled a moving constellation.
It would be like watching the Big Dipper move across the sky. At that point, Rich and I were very interested in what was happening. I called a friend of mine, Jennifer, and she came out to her patio.
At this time, my son Jake came outside to see what the fuss was about. We all stood there and watched another group go up into space. This group acted the same way as the first.
Then, a third group. With the third group, my son noticed that the "lead" light would stop, or appear to stop, and wait for the others to catch up. At one point, there were two smaller balls of light that seemed to be "playing tag" as my son discribes it.
One was in front of the other and the front one would zig zag from left to right and the one behind it would "chase" it. Very interesting to see. On the fourth batch, we had two pairs of binoculars out (myself and Rich) and we couldn't get a much clearer view of them.
Almost like they were either too far away to actually see, even with magnification, or they were so bright that it seemed distorted when I tried to see them. During the second group rising, Jennifer noticed a very odd, very thick and extremely white fog (for lack of a better word) on the horizon. She pointed it out to us, we all saw it and watched as it rose, but it rose staying intact.
Unlike a building fire smoke, this seemed to stay just as white and just as thick as it was when it was lower on the horizon. This display lasted approximately one hour. I will never forget the way that these objects seemed to have a purpose, a direction.
They seemed to almost communicate in that they all knew where to go and how to take their place in "line" (although they never traveled in a straight line). The best way to describe them, for me, was moving constellations. Very bright, very large (although there were smaller ones as well), very organized objects in "flight".
When asked how big they seemed to be in relation to a star, my feeling is that the brightest star in the sky that night, was half the size of the objects passing by it. This was the most awesome, curious thing I have ever seen and I hope to one day find out what it could have been. Please let me know if you have any information.
Thank you. ((NUFORC Note: Second report from same witness. We post both reports.

the flock of ufo creatures seemed like oval pods with wings attached day in my own backyard I saw what looked like a flock of giant, robot crows with no legs or head. Their wings seemed to be solid with no feathers and they were not flapping. Every single one had a green light coming from the same exact spot on their "bodies.

Neon white cylinder moving slowly to the north over Lewisville TX I observed for about 10 minutes a single cylinder moving at a moderately slow speed from south to north. I live in an area north of DFW airport and I'm used to seeing various aircraft, and I haven't seen anything like this before. Size was approx 3/16" when measured at arms length; color was like a solid glowing neon white tube which did not vary as it moved across the sky, that is, there were no wings casting any shadow or reflections.
I watched the object move steadily north until it disappeared into the middle of some low dark storm clouds that were moving in from the north.

Series of Sonic Booms over Southern Denton County just north of Dallas At about 3:25 I was sitting in my home office when I heard a loud boom and the windows rattled. A few seconds later a second boom hit and rattled the windows about the same. I wondered if there was some sort of huge metal dumpster or something that fell off a truck near the house but couldn't believe that would rattle the windows like that.
Less than a minute later my father who lives about 8-9 miles west of me called me on the phone. He asked if I heard the sonic booms. I said yeah but I didn't know what they were.
I had not heard a sonic boom in over 30 years and wondered about that. I immediately hung the phone up and ran outside to look in the sky. I observed at least 7 or 8 contrails going across the sky mostly from east to west or west to east, as I could not see the end of them.
But I noticed that to the North Northwest there was one contrail that made a hairpin turn and headed back north. I thought that might have been the source since it would probably be a military craft that made that maneuver. Then about 25 to 30 minutes later I was in my car about to start it when my cell phone rang.
As I was answering it I heard a smaller boom but it was distinctly the same as early just much quieter. At that moment I said hello and it was my father again, he asked if I heard the sonic boom again. I said I just heard it as I was answering the phone.
I then asked him how long ago he heard it and he said about 30 seconds before I answered the phone. So since he lives about 8 miles west of me we figured that the sound was also west of me since it took at least 30-40 seconds for the sound to travel to me. Then later that evening I took my son to meet with the Boy Scouts to go camping.
While the boys were all loading up their gear I told the story to one of the boy's fathers who is retired air force and now works for the air force in civil service. He was in Dallas at the time and did not hear it but a mother of another boy said she heard 3 booms like me and another boys father said he heard it ! and though somebody must have been dynamiting something. The lady lived about half way between me and my father while the other boy's father lives right on Lake Grapevine about 12 miles west of me and about 3-4 miles southwest of my father.
When I got home that night after dropping my son off with the scouts, I called my father to tell him what I had heard from others. He then told me that my mother had heard the sonic booms also. She was in the front yard at my brother's house about 12 miles north northwest of me and about 7 to 8 miles north of my father.
She said she heard the first two booms that were close together but was probably driving in the car when the third one hit so she did not hear it. I just now called her to ask her if she saw anything and she said she did not but thought that the sound was north of them but could not be certain. She also said that a neighbor asked if she heard the sonic booms and she said she did.
He said he heard them and called DFW airport to report them and the airport said they did not hear them.
