Two sightings - bright red/orange, large circular molten fireballs, hovering then traveling toward Gulf of Mexico before vanishing On Friday, 07/28/2023 at approximately 10:35 pm, my wife, a family friend, and I were in our backyard and had just gotten out of the pool. From our home’s backyard observed, we observed a large red/orange circular fire/plasma ball in the sky at about the cloud level in the night sky. That evening was warm, mostly clear with a few clouds and the moon was very bright.
No rain, lightning, or thunderstorms in the area at all that day. I first noticed the large (size of a small airplane or helicopter) object located southeast (towards Navarre, FL) of our home because of its brilliant bright red color and because it was not moving. The object was larger than any other object (other than the moon) in the night sky.
The red and orange color appear to look like a fire ball /plasma without any defined edges and a haze around the edges. The object made no sound. It hovered in place at this height for about 10 seconds.
Then the object slowly began moving south towards the Gulf of Mexico, at the same height, for about 5 seconds then it just slowly faded away. I confirmed with the other witnesses that it did not go behind a cloud, but in fact the object had just disappeared. It appeared to leave a momentary trail of light as it moved but that may have been my eyes adjusting to the brightness of the object against a dark sky, I am not sure.
The object appeared not to produce any smoke or vaper trail. Moments later, I observed another similar object or the same object approximately 2 – 5 miles directly south of my location. This object was slowly moving south towards the Gulf of Mexico.
However, this object was now much, much lower (approximately 500 - 1000 feet above the tree line). If it was the same object, it would have had to had moved at an incredible speed to go from the original position and height from where it disappeared and then moments later reappear at the lower height and new position in the sky. We continued to observe the object for about 5 – 10 seconds as it continued south and then just faded away.
Our home is located in Gulf Breeze, FL (near the Midway area) off of Soundside Drive. We see a lot of military aircraft, private, commercial aircraft and satellites in our skies. This object was unlike anything I have seen before.
We did not observe any solid object or aircraft producing this fire ball. It appeared at all times to be a large fire /plasma ball with no definable edges, with no navigational lights on it and it never made a sound. No photos or video recordings were made of this sighting.
My wife is a teacher at a daycare and I spend 30 years in the military/reserves and 23 years in law enforcement. These facts are true to best of my recollection.

brighter than a star light travels the clear night sky, viewed by 6 adults for around a minute, then it just disappears. On Sat night, the 8th of June 2019, my wife, myself, & 2 other couples (6 people) were hanging out talking on the back porch of a friend's house. We were talking of how Jupiter was supposed to be so close we could see the moons with a pair of binoculars, so we decided to pull up our skyview apps on our iphones to look at stars & try to find Jupiter.
At about 21:45 we began to spot communication satellites traveling the night sky, they were all over, as well as the occasional high flying airplanes. You can always tell the airplanes from the blinking lights on each wingtip… One of the men in the group notices a light in the sky, like a satellite, only brighter, almost as bright as the N star. It was travelling from the S to the N faster than a satellite, almost double the speed of a satellite as viewed with the naked eye, it had no blinking lights, it was too high to be heard, but it was quite clear in the NE sky that night, so no clouds to obscure it.
I remarked at how it kind of had a blue blur behind it, almost like it was going so far it was getting blurry near the end. It was viewed by all six adults over the age of 35, no one was intoxicated, all sober. It traveled the sky in a straight line for around a minute, about 1' across the sky viewed by eye, it stayed a constant speed, then phased out.
totally disappeared, no explosion, no giant flash.it was there, then it wasn't. We've tried to explain it off, as we live near some high profile military bases, but somethings, somethings just can't be explained.

I saw not a plane or a Helicopter. I saw this thing it was real.No sound but the sound of birds going to roost for the night.
I used my Phone to video it, I saw a large Orange round shape in the sky , it was glowing. It had a half moon glow, less orange, half way around the circle, it. It moved slowly to the left.
Above residential homes, My hands were moving as I was walking my dogs. It really glowed, then it grew smaller. The half moon glow dissapeared, It still pulsated.
It changed shaped slightly and changed colour. It turned white but had other colour's glowing around the outside of the ball. Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow.
It changed and grew smaller, it still moved slowly. It dissapeard with out a trace. I heard no sound it was not a plane, it was not a helicopter.
It did not act or behave the way a helicopter or a plane behave's.

Bright orange object, rapid speed and direction changes . Energy "Orb" Sphere Sighting :: GULF BREEZE FL. Hi I'm a homeowner / observer from .
yep, Gulf Breeze FL . I have a report on a recent sighting that should match up with other reports in the area. I'm confident at least 50-100 people would have seen the same thing, to include my neighbor as a witness.
Taking out the trash at approx 5:40pm Jan 13, 2010. looking north from "midway" towards Escambia Bay, I saw a bright white/orange-tinted ( about -6 magnitude brightness ) spherical light-form traveling East from Garson Point Bridge towards Eglin AFB's West boundary at a rate of approx 500knts. As it approached the middle of the bay, about 3-4 seconds since I noticed the object, it made a downward 180 degree turn at the same rate of speed.
I dropped the garbage bag in the driveway, and knew that what I was seeing was not anything in our publicly known aviation inventory. My view was obscured from about 15 degrees from the horizon to the top of the tree line to my North. The object would dive below and above the trees moving in a very similar pattern as a dragonfly.
After approx. 2 minutes of viewing I was able to signal my neighbor to be a witness. after about a minute or two the object shot skyward from it's last position below the tree line as if it were staying in ! a particular piece of airspace in the middle of the bay, approx 1/2 mile wide and below 4000ft.
I should also mention there was a thin cloud layer around 5000ft which helped me judge the distance and scale of the light sphere. At times the object would traverse and incredible speeds, well in excess of mach2-3 without breaking the sound barrier and without making any audible sound from approx 1mi away. Traffic from Hwy98 was audible as well as several single engine recreational aircraft off in the distance, west and south of the activity, approx 8-15 miles.
The last maneuver the object made was from west to east it climbed to approx 4000ft, turned north, “zig-zagged” in an S pattern and vanished after the 3rd “zag”, not to be seen again. Shortly after a single rotor helicopter came on site ( pursuit ) from west to east along the original path of the sphere, and turned north toward Whiting Field NAS. No other aircraft approached the area except for a commercial flight leaving PNS traveling North-East, which tells me the airspace was not locked down.
I was under the impression that this object wanted to show-off and be seen. Also another observation was 3 satellites at 90 degrees elevation, magnitude about +4, intersecting directly above shortly after the sighting. I'm still in awe over this observation.
I'm very familiar with military aviation and aeronautical engineering. This sphere was defying our physics somehow by moving through the atmosphere at those speeds without disturbing the air. Most Impressive.

i checked again, and it was surly gone. i want to know if i was the only person inthis area to have sen this. plus the airplanes landing in this area seemed to have no effect.

It was a yellow triangular craft that came over my home. They flew over for about five minutes and then vanished. There was a loud screech that came from it.
I dont know how close it was but the noise real loud. My friend was with me.
Full Report Text:
Triangular shape object with five white light in a triangular formation beneath object structure. Something odd was flying around in the Gulf Breeze area. On June 26, 2008, I noticed a somewhat bright, solid, reddish light stationary in the sky that was probably 500 yards off the ground.
It stayed in that position for at least five minutes never moving or doing anything else. Earlier that evening, there was some helicopters flying around, and they never stopped and hover in one position. I suspected the solid red light might be a helicopter, but I never heard any noise coming from it.
I estimate the distance the object was from me about half a mile and located North-East in direction. I had a camera in my car and I went to get it. That took about five minutes.
When I tried to locate the object in the sky, I could find it. The event took place around 9:00 PM. The next day, my friend and I went fishing again at Bob’s site bridge.
I didn’t think to bring the camera with me. Again, I saw the red light around 9:00PM situated in the same area in the sky at the same height and direction. I hurried to my car again which took at least five minutes.
Again I couldn’t locate the object which appeared to be stationary in the sky for at least two minutes before I left to get the camera. On July 16, 2008, my friend and I went fishing at Bob’s sites. This time I had my camera with me.
We fished on the pier instead of the bridge. There was lots of people fishing which is unusual for a Wednesday. The sky was clear and the almost full moon was rising .
I was facing North and it was about 8:45PM when I noticed an object coming from the North. I watched the object as it made a turn to the North-East. It wasn’t a passenger jet.
As the object made the turn like a jet, I clearly saw for a brief moment the shape of the object. It was triangular in shape like a B-2 stealth bomber. I also saw five separate white lights in a triangular formation beneath the wing-like structure which also appeared to be part of the craft structure.
After that moment, I got my camera out. The object was now heading North-East. I could only see two separate light orange/red in color and fading slowly.
I put the camera in available light mode and zoomed in at max, but I couldn’t see the object in the viewer. I took two pictures anyways hoping that maybe I get something. After downloading the pictures onto my computer, I was not able to see the object or lights.
It might had been a military jet, but that is the fist time I saw a triangular shape object flying around in the area of Gulf Breeze, and I lived near this area practically my whole life. There was no strobe lights, red lights, or green lights on the object. Nothing to indicate that it was a commercial jet.

I am a Battalion Chief with the fire department. I was on duty standing behind one of our stations talking to three other firefighters. It was just before lunch time on May 17th 08.
I was looking up and to the north, north west. I spotted a silver/white craft flying from the north going due south. After watching it for a couple of seconds, I yelled out LOOK.
The other firefighters glanced up but did not see anything then looked back at me. I again yelled LOOK. They all glanced up again but did not see anything then looking back at me.
A third time yelled LOOK and one of the firefighters saw the craft as it flew out of sight. He said that he saw it as it flew away but thought it looked like a feather. He could not explain how it was flying in a straight line.
The craft was hard to see against the clear blue sky and flying at a high rate of speed. There was no sound or was there any cloud that followed the craft. It is my estimation that the craft flew about 20 miles in 15 seconds.
It also looked to be about the size of a large airliner when they are flying at cruising speed.

At approximately 7:45 (not exact on time) but during astronomical twilight I noticed a greenish/blue light about 10 degrees above the southwest horizon near Jupiter appear. This point of light was undiminished by the Moon and was as bright as Jupiter. magnitude -1 or so.
I am an amateur astronomer. Because of the speed and brightness of the light I suspected ISS at first but ISS was not expected until after 8 p.m.
and in the NNE according to heavensabove.com. This light shifted to white and brightened considerably as it traveled low in the southwest to southeast.
This light was not a jet. too fast actually. but it was moving in the direction of Eglin Air Force Base.
I really don't believe it was a jet because of its peculiar lighting and fast movement. It flared like a satellite too.but it just didn't seem like a satellite.
I may have seen the so-called Eglin space plane. mentioned in some aviation circles. I double-checked with heavensabove.
com and found no satellite activity noted at that time. I have 45 years of amateur astronomy under my belt and I am quite sure this was not a satellite or jet. I think it was a space plane project.
Anyway.Peter keep up the good work and God Bless. ((NUFORC Note: Note flawed date.
We assume that the witness implies a date of 2006, and we have amended the date above to reflect that fact. PD)).

Navarre / Gulf Breeze birght orange fireballs horizontally aligned I was out on the porch and saw what I thought was fireworks behind a tree. About 45 seconds later, I got a better, unobstructed view to the left - it was the same bright orange lights, but they appeared to be lighting up in a row from right to left. The lights never rose or fell, only lit up like balls of fire, remained lit for several seconds, then disappeared.
I was knocking on the window to try and get people to come out. The lights showed up again even further to the left - this happened seven or eight times. One other person came out in time to see the entire final display - this last time was the clearest, and it looked like six balls of fire that lit up on a horizontal line (right to left), then disappeared - not moving up or down, just disappearing.
Lots of airplanes were visible shortly afterwards, and one in particular that was moving in a large circular pattern. There was never any noise that I could distinguish as being associated with the lights.

strange bright cloud While grilling some fish outside I noticed a bar of white light in the southeastern ski near the star Arcturus. It was a five degree blob of light that looked like a cloud. Using binoculars, I resolved the blur into what looked like an angel-shaped blob of light.
complete with wings. Sounds incredible, but that's what it looked like. This was a cloud of light.
not a craft and after an hour it dissipated. It looked similar to a cloud formation when a rocket blasts off . I saw a similar cloud two years ago in Arizona when a rocket shot off from California.
What the hell was this strange cloud? I know it sounds weird saying it looked angel-shaped. but oddly enough, it looked like that.at least in binoculars.
I am a college professor, amateur astronomer and not a religious fanatic. Peter if you get similar reports, please contact me at ((e-address deleted)) I am near Eglin AFB and Pensacola Naval Base and of course near ground zero for the famous Gulf Breeze sightings of the '80s. cheers, ((initials deleted)) ((NUFORC Note: Result of earlier missile launch.

I was driving home I pullued into my driveway when I noticed several bright lights at tree top level.I thought it was someone shooting off a roman candle off the dock in the back yard. I thought this was strange because it was not holiday, fireworks are illegal in this area.
None-the-less, people do shoot off fireworks sometimes but I had only see people shooting them off on New Years and Forth of July so I was curious what was going on in my back yard. My house is on the bay and I got out of my truck and went around the house to the back yard and walked out on my dock to see what was going on. The dock is pretty long and extends about 300 feet into the bay.
When I got to the end, I didn't see anyone and and started walking back to shore and to my house. I was looking up in the air for the source of the lights I had seen earlier and at the exact second my I was looking in its direction, bright color lights came on. The object was just above tree level and very close.
It was not moving and I am positive it was reacting with me. Several different color lights flashed on in sequence in a horizontial band around what I could best describe as an oval shape. I was well aware of the hundreds of reports in this area from the late 1980s but generally thought they were fakes.
At that split second, I questioned my belief and quite frankly got a little scared. The object was between me an land and I wasn't sure what to do. It was dark and after the light display, I think my eyes dialated because I lost some of my night vision and I didn't see anything else in the sky.
I paused for a moment and walked, with a little fear, back to my house and went into the back door of my house. I never told anyone but my wife about it. Some of the things that were striking about it was that it was so close, it was a relatively small object (maybe two automobiles in size), it was low, just above the trees, perfectly quiet and what was most rememerable was the crisp, clear color lights.
They were very bright! but wha t I most recall was thinking how clear and pure the color looked. I am an engineer, a general skeptic (read The Skeptical Inquirer regularly), professional and well known in the community. People around here don't talk much about UFOs because of the bad publicity we received in the late 80s and early 90s and I worry about my professional reputation by telling people.
I can say for certain this was no airplane, helicopter, firework, ballon, star, swamp gas or anything else my rational trained mind can explain. It is by all accounts an unidentified flying object. The funny thing is that although that was the closes I have been to an unidentified object, over the years that I have lived in the Gulf Breeze area, I have seen many unexplained objects hovering around here.

on the night of the 7tha nd the 14th of March my boyfriend and i witnessed a 3- 5 fireballs in the eastern sky at about 10pm central time.i thought at the time they were just fire works celebrating Mardi Gras.but they lingered way too long in the sky.
last night at the same tme we observed them again. Upon reading your website today and finding that i am not the only one to have seen this i thought I would reprot it.I hope you can determine the cause of this.
its really odd the objects were golden in color and appeared in the eastern sky not too far from the horizon. that area is over Pensacola Bay. The lights lingerd gor some time .
approx. 3-5 seconds. within about 5 min they appeared again.
4-5 orb at different intervals ( within milli seconds ) rose up only to hover and dissappear. the phenomenon ended after the second time. ( or we diamissed it and didn't pay attention to it) I thought they might be flares or fire works, but my fiancee ( an ex coat gaurdsman) assured me that flares leave trails.
these did not. The orbs were very bright and seemed to be devised to catch someones attention.as in a flare.

Summary : I first spotted a single extremely bright orange glowing light, which was followed by 5 to 7 other stationary similar objects in a horizontal line. these objects remained did not move and lit the sky up brightly. one by one the lights dimmed and were gone.
the lights were S.E. of the Tigre Point community and appeared to be over the gulf South of Navarre.
The bright lights were brighter than anything ive seen and lighted the clouds up all around them. The objects appeared to be staionary and i counted between 7-10 of them. They apeared remained still for 5 to 10 min.
and dimmed out one by one. The first few were in a straight horizontal line and spaced uniformly. Near the end of the event a couple more bright objects apeared above this line.
I wittnessed this with my neighbors and their child on a dock along the west side of Santa Rosa Sound near the Tiger Point community just east of Gulf Breeze. I am a college student and have lived here 1 year. This was my first ufo sighting.
(and it was cool:)).

SUMMARY: Large red firy orange balls in a figure approaching a triangle in shape 40 years old , some graduate school,.
Full Report Text:
Three super bright craft emitting triangular light array. I was driving with two friends across Bob Sikes (3-Mile) bridge going South from Pensacola to Gulf Breeze. Halfway across, at the crest of the bridge, we were startled to notice an immensely bright light approximately 200 yards away from us at roughly eye level (about 100 ft.
off the water). It was disc shaped and was emitting pulses of light, much like tracer fire, in a triangular array of about 30 degrees, and only traveling perhaps 4 diameters out away from the craft before the pulses stopped. The effect was visually as if a dotted triangle was temporarily attached to a brightly glowing sphere.
This emission would go on for 10-15 seconds at a time, after which, it would stop and then recur anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes later. I stopped immediately upon exiting the bridge and went to the edge of the bay to be able to watch with as little light pollution as possible. When the lights were not emitting from the craft, it would fade to a dull, almost black, shade of red.
As it traveled East away from us, it would become difficutlt to track it visually while it was not in its' bright phase. When it was approximately 5 miles from us, we noticed another craft, also pulsing identical light emissions, approaching the first from about 45 degrees to the the North. The two never got closer than a couple of miles from each other.
Approximately 10 minutes had gone by at this time. Immediately after noticing the second craft, we noticed a third approaching the first from about about 30 degrees from the South. At this point, the emissions were coming less frequently, and we could only be sure of the exact location of all three craft when they would emit, which they did not do in unison.
When they reached roughly the current location of the Garcon Point bridge (approximately 10 miles from our vantage point, they all three dissapeared at the same time. I am a college graduate, do not drink or use drugs, and am an avid fisherman in the area, so I am very confidnent of my distance estimates. ((NUFORC Note: This report replaces a report NUFORC posted in 1997.
The witness who first called was not satisfied with our rendition of what he had reported over the telephone, so we requested that he submit a written version of the sighting, which appears here. PD)).
