Three orange lights fly south above I-17 towards Phoenix, Arizona. 1/2/2016 21:35 A cold and partly cloudy night sky in Black Canyon City, Arizona. Which is twenty five miles north of Phoenix on I-17.
I was leaving my house for work, driving west down the road. When I spotted three orange objects coming from the north flying above I 17 headed south. I stop and got out of my car to see what I was witnessing.
Each one of the orange lights were at different altitudes and each orange light was acting differently when flying. The first orange light was the highest and look like it was flying straight. Then it shot straight up into the clouds.
The second orange light was lower and was traveling slower than the first orange light. Then the scond orange light went up into the clouds at a fouty five degree angle and disappeared into the clouds. The third orange light was the lowest and the slowest.
It look like it was taking it's old sweet time flying above I 17. Then the thrid orange light stared to climb slowly and all so disappeared in the clouds. None of the orange lights made a sound.
I was about one mile from I-17 all I could hear was the traffic from I-17. I just stood there and said to myself, "What did I just see?" I know what airplanes and helicopters look like at night. There is a lot of air traffic fly over here.

Orange/copper colored lights over Black Canyon City At 8:45 PM, I was in the parking lot of family dollar in Black Canyon City, waiting for my family to come out of the store, when in the east there was a bright orange light. I looked in the car for my binoculars on the seat in the 2 seconds it took to do that the light was in the North immediately over head. I watched it quickly fly away.
At that time my family came out of the store. In the east we all witnessed two bright orange lights parallel to each other then they turned together and slowly their lights faded away. That was at 8:50 about 5 minutes after the one I encountered.
Five minutes later the same thing happened with two lights. It looked like one craft very very large at 9:00 we did not see anything else. When it turned it was without a doubt one craft it looks like the wings were tilting to gain altitude.

Near I-17 interstate a formation of orange soft steady glowing obs equally spaced apart were observed by my husband and I. At the time of sighting over 5-8 neighborhood dogs were barking at one time. Tried to video but they dissipated.
One from a distance came forward in sky then went back to where it started. Completely different elevation than the flight patterns of planes.

Unexplained red lights near dump at B;ack Canyon City. Were walking to a friends house and saw a large red light that seemed to pulsate near the dump. We thought it was a tire fire near the dump, but when we drove out there, there was nothing.
When we went back to town, we saw it again and it was much much larger. No fire reports were reported. No sighting of it as morning came.
May have been one or maybe a congregation of some sort, since the glow grew brighter, and had black lines running through it, i would assume it was multiple ships.

4 Bright Lights, 1 triangular shape, ,hover over APS Power line, Interstate 17 at Black Canyon City Friday, April 6th 8:00 pm to 8:30pm Interstate 17 North from Phoenix, Arizona Traveling north on I-17 with 2 other people in the car and heavy weekend traffic, I noticed a bright light on the horizon. I pointed it out to the front passenger and they spotted 3 more bright lights, hovering to the right of the freeway and 1 more hovering to the left of the freeway. The passenger then looked out and up to her right and said, "We are going under one right now! It is very low and 'they' don’t care if we see them.
" She described the craft (her word) as triangular in shape with a light at each rounded corner. I was not able to pull over safely at that time but continued to view the other lights seeming to hover over the huge Arizona Public Service power line that runs north to south, intermittently crossing and re crossing Interstate 17.

Saw a triangle shape object with 7 lights shinning down from windows it looked like, with one red blinking light at the nose of the object. Having worked for a flying school I know all aircraft must have a blinking light .
it wasn't a satilite.my husband and I watched it for about a half hour going down the freeway. It wasn't a blump either.
every much triangler shaped. Three lights on each side and one light toward the upper part of the V with the blinking light there, it was moving very slowly over the mountains.we weren't seeing things either !!!!!!!.

saw a stationary very bright light that looked like a star at a very far distance. As we drove towards it , it started to move very slo May 8, 2005 Mother’s Day ((name deleted)) and I were coming home from Flagstaff around 10:15 p.m.
heading south on I-17 north of Anthem, closer to Black Canyon City. At a distance to the West, ((name deleted)) noticed what looked just like a star only it was very bright. He said to me, "Do you think that is a star or a plane?" I immediately saw what he was looking at because it was so visibly bright.
It was not moving so I said it must be a star but it is too bright and to low in the sky compared to the other stars. I kept looking at it and as we got closer to it I could see it was flashing lights so I figured it was a plane. Then I thought it couldn’t be a plane either because it was moving to slow.
I rolled the window down and looked up at it as it was flying over us. I saw 3 distinct lights in a row that were brighter than any other flashing lights I’ve seen. They were flashing from the right to the left one at a time but very fast.
It reminded me of a police car lights on the top of the car. I couldn’t see what the lights were attached to because they were so bright. As we drove past it I looked back.
((NUFORC Note: We spoke with this witness on two occasions, and she seemed quite credible to us. However, the written report gives us a significantly different impression about the sightings than the telephoned report did. During the telephoned report, we understood the witness to say that the object filled the vehicle with bright light, but she does not indicate that fact here.
The object to the west that the witness alludes to we suspect may have been the star, Sirius. We do not know what the object was that passed overhead, but we believe that an aircraft, perhaps a helicopter, would have to be ruled out, before we could conclude that the object was a genuine UFO. PD)).

Phoenix Lights on I-17 near Sunset Point Rest Area Hi Peter, I heard you on Coast to Coast with Art Bell last night, and you finished the show asking for Phoenix Lights eyewitness reports. Here is one more for you. I think my sighting was somewhat unusual, because I saw the craft flying southward above Interstate 17 about 60 miles north of Phoenix.
I've heard reports from the Prescott area, and of course in Phoenix, but not many from in between. Please refer to the following map: http://maps.google.
com/?ll=34.174885,-112.136593&spn=0.
099698,0.100079 This shows I-17 north of Phoenix. The map is centered on the Sunset Point rest area, which is about 1/2 mile up the road (north) after my sighting ended.
I was driving home from Phoenix, and the time was approximately 8:15 pm. Don't take that time too seriously -- I didn't check the time while watching the UFO, and came up with an approximation later based on the time I got home. (I was used to making the trip and new how long it took to drive between Phoenix to the Sunset Point halfway point, and then home in Sedona.
) See where I-17 is split lower in the map area? That is the stretch of the interstate that connects the Sonoran Desert with a mesa area at higher altitude. The road there is curvy and is on about a 7% grade, with little or no shoulder. It was getting dark, and while driving about halfway up that part of the road, I noticed an inverted V of bright lights far off in the distance.
They seemed low near the horizon, and at first I thought they were lights on a distant mountain. But that didn't make sense, because the mountain is off to the left (west), and the lights were just about 5 degrees left of straight ahead. Also, they were white color and steady, not flashing red as with a radio tower or something like that.
While I was thinking those thoughts, I realized there was no way the lights were on the ground, since they were getting higher in the sky and nearer (bigger)! Obviously, it was something or some things flying through the air. It was getting difficult to watch the lights, because I was in traffic, navigating curves uphill on a road with almost no shoulder and a cliff to my left in case I messed up! (BTW, I was in the left lane of traffic.) As the lights got nearer, I had to push my head forward toward the windshield and look upwards.
It was a little tricky. The lights stayed on the left of my car, apparently flying over the southbound part of the interstate. I could clearly see there were five lights, one at the tip and two each on either side, in the V shape.
The lights were white, but not pure -- slightly yellowish, like an incandescent light bulb. As the lights were just a short distance away, I thought, "That is either 5 military jets flying in formation, or a UFO." I watched to see if I could see a solid shape of a big ship, but it was too dark.
As the lights got the closest, I thought, "That is either an alien UFO or some secret government project." It didn't seem to be jets in formation. There were only the 5 whitish lights, and no green or red lights, or flashing lights of any kind.
Another thing I remember thinking at the time was that I wondered how big the craft was. If it was flying low, it might have been the size of a commercial airliner, but if it was higher up (tens of thousands of feet), it would have been huge and moving very fast. When I first spotted the lights off in the distance, they were about the apparent size of my thumb held at arm's length.
When the lights flew by, they were about the size of my fist at arm's length. By the time the lights had passed by my car, I had driven all the way up the hill to the mesa where the Sunset Point rest stop is located. I thought of pulling over since there was some shoulder there, but realized that by the time I got out of the car, the lights would already have flown far away, and I wouldn't see much.
So I didn't stop. Two days later (Saturday) I was out socializing around town, and mentioned to some friends that I'd seen something while driving home from Phoenix. One guy looked at me and said something like, "Oh, you saw it! You saw the UFO that was reported on the Phoenix TV news!" If it weren't for that, I probably would have never connected my experience with the big UFO sighting, which I otherwise would have heard about months or years later, after I'd forgotten what day it was I saw them.
I don't watch TV or read newspapers, and if other witnesses are anything like me, that would explain why you don't get many more reports. It wasn't until months later I decided to do a search on the Internet and learned that people were calling the UFO the "Phoenix Lights". When I learned that the UFO was a mile wide, I realized that when I saw it, it must have been at a high altitude and really moving! I haven't tried to do any of the math -- the calculation would be rough at best -- but I guess it must have been going about 2000 miles per hour.
(?) If I can figure out how many apparent angular degrees my thumb is, and use a stopwatch the next time I drive home from Phoenix, maybe I can come up with a better number. I'll be happy to do my best to answer any questions you have regarding my sighting.
